This may be the most Brianne video ever: Forces herself to do shots. Without shot glasses. Doesn’t define her own rules. Doesn’t write down her answers. I genuinely loved every second of this beautiful train wreck. 😂
I completely agree with the ace and demi thing. It’s different than being gay, straight, bi etc. It doesn’t tell us anything about who they’re attracted to.
There ARE people who are not attracted to anyone (AroAce), so I think that counts as a distinct sexual orientation because it's not gay/lesbian, straight, or bi. But I do think that if someone experiences AN attraction, then ace/demi are a types of attraction not an orientation. THAT SAID, language is made up and maybe the definition has shifted
I have a big ol' issue with people being considered queer simply for being demisexual - I've seen queers say that even cishet demisexual people are queer and good God that pisses me off. Like...demisexual attraction is just a very normal thing. They're still cishet. Not queer! Anyway lol
@@louisj1253wait could you explain how it’s possible to be queer and asexual? Cuz im guessing you mean more of a romantic connection is what makes you queer. Sorry if it’s a silly question
yeah you're right, you can be a demisexual lesbian. they're not sophisticated enough on Cut to distinguish like, are they only counting "gay" as "exclusively homosexual and homoromantic," but even if that's what they mean by gay, a demisexual person can be exclusively homosexual and homoromantic when they do experience sexual attraction, so they'd have to be more specific with her identity. i guess she's implied to not identify as gay, whoever she is or is not attracted to when she experiences attraction? in theory, she could have been fully asexual, and then there wouldn't be a gender of sexual attraction. but she's not, she's demisexual, so they're just not telling us what genders of people she experiences attraction to. (i'm demi and this was confusing to me too. i'm demi and bi personally)
Demi and lesbian here, and you are definitely correct. Should be more specific. Ace is okay for me - if someone is fully ace/aro, that's fine for me as an answer.
Agree about the demisexua1. There should be a sexuality still attached to it. But if you are Aromantic Asexua1 then you feel the same level of attraction to everybody (which is nothing). So your not attracted to anybody at all ever basically (at least not in a sexua1 way).
As someone on the ace spectrum, I feel like most people have like a "primary" label of sorts. Like I'm an ace spec lesbian, but if you asked me what my sexuality is, I'd probably just say lesbian and leave it at that, so I feel like that might be what they were going for?
I think it's just tricky with all the different labels, but also looking from different perspectives. If you're guessing who they're attracted to physically, then conceptually an ace wouldn't be attracted to anyone, while a demi person might have preferences in terms of gender and so on. But there is also romantic attraction.. and combinations.. and yeah..
The thing that confused her is that romantic attraction is different from sexual attraction (and platonic attraction, but for this i will focus on romantic and sexual). As an ace person myself, this was really important for me to learn and is often what i have to teach people when i tell them about my identity. Basically, sexuality (like lesbian, gay, asexual, etc.) is the attraction most people think also defines the person/gender you fall in love with, which is often the case (hence the confusion) but isn't always the case. Most often for ace people, since our sexuality usually excludes sexual attraction, the important part for relationships is the romantic attraction, which is the attraction to the person. This can include a gender preference, which can be but is not limited to homorantic, heteroromantic, panromantic, etc. So, a demisexual person has a sexuality which depends on their relationship with a person, but their romantic attraction (what brianne was confused about) can be attracted to women, men, or whatever. This is not exclusive to the ace community however, everyone has a separate romantic and sexual attraction. It's just often the case that they're linked. So for example, in one situation a gay man also falls in love with men identifying people, but in another a straight woman could also fall in love with any gender person but still only has sexual attraction to men identifying people. For the ace community, some people never experience sexual attraction but experience romantic love, and some people are allosexual but never experience romantic love. It's important to remember that it's all a spectrum and to stay open to learning about others. Also, ace representation is important to keep spreading in the community, i feel like we're not talked about a lot sometimes. My explanation may not be perfect as well, so if anyone has something to add or change, please feel free (im still learning as well). So yeah, that's my little improv ted talk for yall. I hope you learned something and enjoyed it, haha. ✌️
Pretty sure the way she was identifying as Demi is similar to pan - as in sexual attraction CAN grow from intimacy regardless of gender - gender is immaterial its about the connection, where someone who is allo and pan is more likely attracted to every gender - a more active attraction that can be based on things besides intimacy
It's valid for someone's primary label to be demisexual or asexual. Just like someone's primary label can be straight, gay, bi, lesbian, etc. So yeah, it doesn't tell you who they're attracted to. But that can be on purpose, if someone doesn't feel comfortable identifying by another label.
The thing abut being in the Gray-ace camp is that you can 100% not be sure who you're attracted to sexually, but be sure you're sexually attracted to one gender. And thus leaving it blank is a power move.
This and the heart rate thirst trap video are top tier, I love it (: But in the future, please write your answers down! 🤣 And I agree with you about the orientations and attractions, I think they are separate last time I checked, but who knows!
LIsten, understanding yourself in the world isn't the easiest thing to do. Depends on culture, country, etc. But, let me just tell you, that, as a 33 year old trans man from the US, the sayings that sexuality is fluid and it gets better, are so true. Growing up in a cis heteronormative household and culture, I felt so misplaced in the regular "boy likes girl and girl likes boy" narrative. Looking back at my younger self, and after so much education during the pandemic, I understand the lengths I put myself through, coming out to my friends as bi, then lesbian (for most of my life), then nonbinary at the beginning of the pandemic. I knew none of those labels truly fit me, but I didn't really know how express my true self. It took many months into lockdown and more education, that I found my true self. The real me that had been stuffed down since childhood could (and does) finally shine through. I am a pansexual trans man. The lesbian label was so crushing to my soul for years, because I always was attracted to everyone, but was scared to admit it. I am so proud of the person I am today. It takes time. You can be scared of ideations in your mind of who you're supposed to like for society. Just let yourself grow, educate yourself, be flexible, be understanding. It will be okay.
I'm a trans guy and before I came out as trans I went between thinking I was bi or lesbian. Then a bit after coming out and slowly becoming more comfortable in my body I realized I'm queer. I really am only into guys and now my genderfluid partner. I can't see myself dating a girl anymore. But I do date people that aren't guys, so I just say I'm queer. But all in all I think it's been fluid for me throughout my life. I like a person for them, not what their gender is. I also like how queer I feel less constrained. I think my sexuality doesn't fit into any single box and I'm okay with that. I don't want to be inside a box, especially when I grew up being forced into a box
Regarding the ace/demi thing: yes, being ace or demisexual does not define whom you are attracted to romantically and/or eventually also sexually. I identify as an ace lesbian. I'm 100% romantically attracted to women, just not sexually.
1. Brianne, you cannot drive after 4 shots of vodka. Please!!!! 😳 2. Asexuality is definitely under sexual orientation/sexuality. Never thought of it as not. It's to do with one's sexual orientation even if it doesn't tell you who but how. If you ask an ace person what's your sexual orientation and they respond asexual you'd be like cool now I know, you wouldn't be like "but to what extent & if you do fancy people sometimes which gender do you fancy?" in the same way that if someone said they were bi you wouldn't be like ah yes what percentages 🙈

As far as the ace demi thing goes, a lot of ace people may just define themselves as ace because they don't really feel a pull towards other labels, or they just arent attracted to anyone ever so theres no point to specify. Demi is kind of different because in theory you could have attraction, but its like being completely ace until suddenly someone you're close to makes you feel attraction. Idk her situation but it could be possible shes only felt attraction once and doesn't really know if she has the potential to be attracted to other genders because its never happened before so she just sticks with demi.
The tension between the guy on the end & Jenna is so uncomfortable, especially when she says 'straight or bi' and doubling down a bit on those even after he really doesn't look happy with either of those. Body language can mean a lot of different things, but also his arm are continuously folded for pretty much only her
I noticed that too, it was especially bad when he came back to tell her 😬 Ironically, she actually picked up on it as well initially after the charli xcx comment. Not to mention he questioned her decision as "Why not gay?" in an annoyed tone. Surprised she didn't get him correct based on those things alone. After all music is subjective 🤷♂️

So I recently started my college classes and in my history class I sit at the desk across from a really pretty girl. I'm asexual and think of it as the polar opposite to a sex addict. I have never had sex with a man or a woman nor have I ever even kissed a man or a woman and feel no drive to do so anytime soon. When those are your sexual credentials, you can't exactly say your gay, bi or straight because there's literally nothing there to base it off of. Hope that helps Brianne.
no yeah i totally agree like you can be aro ace but like you could still be like biromantic or something and ace idk maybe the video was just about guessing who they're sexually attracted to ??
you got the demi definition right girl don't worry. I am lesbian romantic demisexual. I love women and to romance women, however sex is a no go unless I really really like you lmao
My reasoning would be that asexual tells you they are not sexually attracted to people(/strangers) and demi falls under the ace umbrella, so can be about WHO they're attracted to. I do agree, however, that it should've been laid out clearly from the get-go, and could be specified (though I, personally, would've been comfy coming on to talk about being demi, but it's not strangers business whether I'm straight, gay, pan.... Then again, on the other hand, that is the whole point of the video - it definitely was a bit over the place).
I say this with so much love, but you know damn well you're not going to remember the answer. I also have the absolute worst memory though so I'd probably even forget I said I was going to write my answers down.
i’m currently in uni for relationship psychology & it does seem they weren’t very clear with what sexual orientation was by their definition in the video, typically you are correct their orientation could not be defined as ace or demi, that’s more so how they experience romantic attraction not their preference of gender. Not saying cut’s interpretation of orientation is entirely misleading but more so that they should’ve clarified the types of sexual orientation the contestants were picking
16:36 I would tend to say you are both gay/straight/lesbian/bi and asexual because asexual refers to sexual attraction and being straight/gay etc refers to who you are romantically/and or sexually attracted to.
I define sexuality the same way as you (also Australian and millennial so maybe it's cultural or age differences) although I do think asexual is a orientation in a sense because if you're physically attracted to no one that does other you from the other orientations even though there's an inherent lack of sexuality rather than one, and obviously asexuality is it's own spectrum too but I can see why it's also an identifier especially when you're asexual and aromantic because you can be not on that spectrum altogether. But there's definitely gay, straight etc asexuals so I know it's confusing but I think since it overlaps it deserves to be an "orientation". I'm also confused whether demisexual is a sexuality though, it wouldn't be by how I define it but I don't wanna diminsh anyone's identity.
Breanne and drinking...two things I'm willing to watch. I expect to enjoy. I think Breanne needs to make this a series... but perhaps find a way/video where the people are judged individually. Even before the alcohol her memory needed... assists. If there was a video where 3 people asked questions about "Joe" then joe revealed before "Jane" was asked... Breanne might remember... and get less shots per minute. There is sex, gender and sexuality in general... but English and society doesn't really cover the shades of grey. So... I always "ask" what we're discussing when it comes to "sexuality" because there are many overlapping concepts and... my definitions for a convo may be different. So when someone says "sexual orientation" I tend to be thinking who are you attracted to male, female, both, neither, etc. but for "sexual attraction" I tend to think more "how" like Demi, ACE, etc. but my definitions are not the law of the land so... clarify.
WHERE IS YOUR CHASER ?!??! Noooooooooooooooo!! I say this as someone who in her own youth drank a tonne of vodka. ALWAYS HAVE A CHASER with vodka shots. Damn. hahahahahaha
You got the definitions right and I agree that when someone says that they are ace or on an ace spectrum, they should also say their romantic orientation, because it's not so straightforward as with other sexualities. Most sexualities go hand in hand with romantic atraction, asexuality doesn't, so if you are to date someone or guess someone's sexuality it's impostant to know where they fall romantically. (or you could at least count it as half a point if you get the romantic part right but not the sexuality part) - sincerelly, your friendly neingbourhood panromantic ace
Going to join and give my two cents on the ace thing. She said she is Demi leaning and referred to her partners without any specific gender, so I’m assuming she means Demi sexual - pansexual. I’m asexual and not attracted to any gender at all so I don’t bother with a secondary label if that helps answer the question on how the labels work.
Waitt?! Did you say "straight plant? Haha. Plus, as a demi sexual. The definition is correct. It defines in individual as requiring an emotional connection in order to have a sexual connection and intimacy to happen.
I feel like not listening to a particular queer artist is not a good indicator of whether you're queer or not. Do I know who Girl in Red is? Absolutely. I even know a few of her songs, or at least the choruses of them, but I'm not a fan of her music, because it's just not my cup of tea. I also honestly had no idea that Charlie XCX is a queer icon.
I think the weird thing about saying asexual is there can be the possibility of no attraction to either gender, right? But that seems rare (my partner is an A all around but does find women attractive more than men).
Hi Brianne ! I didn't watched the video yet but I know it will be soooo good ! I really hope you can see this message, I need your help !!
I think you’re absolutely right…
hic.
I say this with so much love, but you know damn well you're not going to remember the answer. I also have the absolute worst memory though so I'd probably even forget I said I was going to write my answers down.
Brianne!! You should react to Guess by charli xcx and Billie Eilish
i’m currently in uni for relationship psychology & it does seem they weren’t very clear with what sexual orientation was by their definition in the video, typically you are correct their orientation could not be defined as ace or demi, that’s more so how they experience romantic attraction not their preference of gender. Not saying cut’s interpretation of orientation is entirely misleading but more so that they should’ve clarified the types of sexual orientation the contestants were picking
also great vid love the channel
I totally see what you're saying about a- & demisexual. I identify as pan & demi, so idk why they don't include that either. Someone explain please 😅
Thank you ❤
16:36 I would tend to say you are both gay/straight/lesbian/bi and asexual because asexual refers to sexual attraction and being straight/gay etc refers to who you are romantically/and or sexually attracted to.
The guitars in the background just leaning against the wall/bookshelf make me really nervous.
The one true answer to the question "who do you think killed Jenny Schecter?" is "idk, but she should have died sooner (possibly instead of Dana)".
Congratulations on your new place🎉 Take care🩷🩷
This was so funny
4/6, but it WOULD HAVE BEEN 5 IF THAT PERSON SAID WHO THEY WERE ATTRACTED TO instead of j saying ASEXUALLLLL
i cant with you 😂
well honestly i probably could...
(or you could at least count it as half a point if you get the romantic part right but not the sexuality part)
- sincerelly, your friendly neingbourhood panromantic ace
Brianna I love your videos because so sweet funny ♥️
Yes to a second.
I really want to know how and why Jenna was chosen for the video 😂
Just want to say that I feel like every queer person from all the generations should watch the L word, it really is part of the curriculum 😆
I think Brianne forgot that this video is guessing people’s sexualities, not which gender or genders they’re attracted to
I'm an ace lesbian, it works like that!!
feels weird being this early
I love you so much ❤
Going to join and give my two cents on the ace thing. She said she is Demi leaning and referred to her partners without any specific gender, so I’m assuming she means Demi sexual - pansexual.
I’m asexual and not attracted to any gender at all so I don’t bother with a secondary label if that helps answer the question on how the labels work.
So like, did you get groceries after or could you not drive?
I'm on the same page! Mullet annoyed me. I identify as demi, but my sexual orientation is gay af.
I feel like green pants girl just has a very white-centric standards with which to judge queer identity
Waitt?! Did you say "straight plant? Haha. Plus, as a demi sexual. The definition is correct. It defines in individual as requiring an emotional connection in order to have a sexual connection and intimacy to happen.
hi hello please don’t drink and drive ✨
I did not
I feel like not listening to a particular queer artist is not a good indicator of whether you're queer or not.
I would love to become a patreon and buy some of the clothes you sell, but I don't know what's best, I would like to spend a 100$ (no worries you mean a lot more to me 🤣, you have my full support for your channel and you). What do you recomend for me ?
wait a second you never watched the l word, you could go watch it and reach hahahha
Please react to the music video of Billie eilish and Charlie xcx!!!!!🥺🥺🥺
The place is sick, the video is sick, you are sick, and so are your videos. Guess cheers to that, no vodka shots really.
I said mullet was pan and switched lesbian and bi girls 🥲
did you complete the rubix cube or never start it 🤔 being gay says it could go either way 🤭
completed it hahah
sorry i’ve no clue what the L word is too 💀
18:17 we lost a baddie 😔
