i dont think there is another country where people can talk so much saying nothing. If brainwashing was an olympic discipline they would be champions forever.

So, the guy who thinks he's not living under an authoritarian regime, even though Putin won't leave after 20 years, and doesn't allow opposition candidates in their elections, against the rules of their own constitution, also thinks Russia shouldn't interfere with the domestic policies of other countries, friendly or unfriendly, but apparently he is not opposed to Russia trying to take over Ukraine. Insanity.

A Russian and an American are discussing their respective freedoms. The American says: "I can go onto the street and protest against the American government. The Russian proudly responds: "I too can go onto the street and protest against the American government'.

I would say nothing has changed since since tsarist days. It was also a very oppressive society, with a security police just like the communist KGB. The first security police with spies in every corner of the society was actually founded under the regime of Ivan the terrible in the 16th century. This above mentioned abilty among russians to talk a lot without actually saying anything have developed during centuries, to avoid negative consequences. Probably it´s in their DNA nowadays.

Yes, a country that has a dozen approved haircuts for its citizens, and a single party that they must vote for - forbids ordinary people to speak to foreign tourists, and imprisons three generations of a family if one individual displeases the authorities - why *wouldn’t* you be allies? Absolutely natural for you.
