Becky, I’ve had my Dream Machine for 5 years & never realized I could do this!! It really would have come in handy last week, when I turned a *test out* or trial embroidery design into a pin cushion. I’m tempted to take it all apart, just to try this method!! You are a fantastic teacher, with clear concise instructions...LOVE you & your channel!!!
Thanks Becky, Long time viewer first time commenter. I followed your directions to background quilt around a drawing my grandson did that we stitched. I was going in circles until I watched your clear instructions. I am so very pleased with the results. Keep up the good work. I for one enjoy and learn a great deal from you. Heather From down under
Thank you! Thank you! I’ve been looking for a tutorial on how to scan and digitize a backgrounds design after embroidering a design. This is exactly what I was looking for! Yeah!
Thank you so much for the detailed steps Becky. This is exactly what I was trying to figure out today for background quilting on pre printed panel blocks.
Fabulous!!! I've been moving in baby steps with my Solaris. Store classes are good but sometimes they cover too much information in a few hours and I am overloaded. Now I know I can do this. Thankyou!!!!
I love this. I will try to get a Luminaire XP3 today.. It is quite expensive, but seeing all you can do looks like it will be well worth it. Thank you so much for your wonderful, clear, step by step, explanation.
Wow! Thank you! This was just what I was looking for! Now I’ll try it and let you know how it worked. Can you do this on an entire quilt by hooping each block and using the eraser on the edges?
I think it is interesting that several fill patterns are the same as the Kimberbell background, I.e. chain link or chicken wire. I have been doing the Kimberbell background on the non-embroidered blocks. Very different from the embroidered ones. Thanks for inspiring me to work on this quilt. I wouldn’t be this far if I didn’t have you to encourage me.😄
@@PowerToolsWithThread you really do read all your comments. Love your videos. And to get you started...with design up in embroidery mode, edit to make a “stamp”. It saves a outline of design. Exit out and while in the design center, after making the square around the design, bring in the stamp you saved ( I think it looks like a flower button). The rest is the same. You’re right...this is why we bought these amazing machines! I love my luminaire.
Thank you, great video! I have some appliqued blocks without quilting and this video is what I needed! Can you please tell me where can I buy that lemonade design? Thanks
Loved the video. Apologies if already answered. Can I use the scan and erase method with a purchased end-to-end design (ie DBJJ) or only a built-in IQ Designer pattern?
For those that have not got this type of machine...could the quilting be done first as this would be the way I would do this and then all the applique and wording be done on top afterwards...just a suggestion
It sure could! However, the machine does a double vs. a single stitch so you'll have a tiny bit heavier thread line than what you would download from Kimberbell.
Dawn Thompson thank you for your question. I don’t have a new machine either so appreciate your question. I think I will order some of the KB quilting designs and just repeat them instead of buying the whole package.
my machine scans in, but iv'e never used that feature yet hehe its a brother nv1e which is the British version of the quattro, also i have all the ugrades and the little snow men stocker things but i have no clue what to do with hehehe 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🙈
I don't recommend sticky stabilizer instead of tape. You really need something to hold the top edge of the fabric down that will allow the foot to pass over the fabric without getting caught underneath.
I'm not sure. I know you have the scanning feature, but I don't know if the Dream will do the stippling around a design or only do it in a set pattern without the ability to erase. Take a look by following my steps and see if yours looks the same. Good luck!
This is amazing! Thanks so much for the DETAILED instructions. I am a beginner and your method of teaching is ALL that! I now understand!
Glad it was helpful!
Very excited that your tips were just what I needed for the Stellaire! Thanks sew much!
Excellent video Becky!! Thank you so much for your clear instructions.
I love this! I so appreciate you showing us all these things!! You are the best!!!!😎
Great tutorial. Love the scanner and my design center. Let’s you be creative. Thank you.

Thanks for letting me know! It makes all the trouble worthwhile. :)
Fantastic. I have a Stellaire so not sure if I can do that, will try. Thank you.
Thanks for the fantastic tutorial! I’m on a mission to learn more about My Design Center.
At first, I thought the artist was Roseanne and she had found a new creative outlet. Love this woman. She's so sweet.
Thank you for sharing this, it was so clear and easy to follow. I’m going to have a go when I’m well enough. 😍
You got this!

Aren’t our machines great? Love my Solaris and IQ Designer - makes us look like rock stars!
Thank you so much for the detailed steps Becky. This is exactly what I was trying to figure out today for background quilting on pre printed panel blocks.
Thank you Becky.
That's really neat. I don't have one of those but there's always my birthday & Christmas!
Fabulous!!! I've been moving in baby steps with my Solaris. Store classes are good but sometimes they cover too much information in a few hours and I am overloaded. Now I know I can do this. Thankyou!!!!
My Solaris is just too heavy for me to move to take to classes. Lol

This was a GREAT tutorial. I need to try this!
This is soooo cool.
Tip: try a practice sample before doing it on your project. 😃
Love your shirt
There have been a lot of ladies asking for this!
Wow! Thank you! This was just what I was looking for! Now I’ll try it and let you know how it worked. Can you do this on an entire quilt by hooping each block and using the eraser on the edges?
Thank you so much for this video.
I knew my Solaris could do this, but even my SewED classes through Baby Lock didn't explain it as well as you did!
Such a beautiful quilt and I love your colors and stitching! Thank you!
Who’s a very clever lady then 👏👏👏😘💐

Fascinating!
Thank you i can do this with the baby lock destiny
You certainly can! Have fun!
Love it! Love your teaching!
This is very interesting to watch. I do not have brother sewing machine’s so it would not apply to mine. I would do this in my digitizing software.
Its in both Baby Lock & Brother machines going back a few models.
Use the stamp button to bring in the design and you won’t have to erase anything. Either way works great.
Interesting. I'll have to figure out how to do that. Thanks!

I don’t have a Brother machine. Is it possible to do this using Embrilliance which would remove hidden stitches?
No. You cannot do this process with Embrilliance.

Thank you Becky!! Best tutorial! Would u remind me of which Kimberbell pkg you did the Life is Sweet Pitcher? (Red, White, and Bloom?)
Yes, Red, White, and Bloom. Thanks for watching!

Looks great Becky! Show us the firefly block in the Facebook group!

@@PowerToolsWithThread thank you for taking time to respond. Makes complete sense!
I was wondering if you could do cross stitch patern by coping what is on the fabric? Instead of needle work and sew by machine. I have a Destiny 2.
Can this be done on any machine? I have the Innovis 1700. Thanks for your help
I think you need a machine with a Design Center of some type in it. I'm not sure if the 1700 has that.
Did you know Kimberbell has a free centering cross hair?
Where to find this?

Love your shirt! Where can I get one?
I searched sewing tshirts on Google.
i can do this with my Dream machine 2 ??? or only on the
luminaire??
