    I bought a similar system from Black & Decker years ago and it was super useful as a college student in a small dorm room where I didn't have a lot of space to store tools and didn't have the money to buy the "regular" tools. For a fairly small amount of money I had a good variety of power tools to do some basic projects. Lasted me a good 10 years of pretty regular use as I slowly replaced each tool

    • @grandmasgopnik9642
      @grandmasgopnik9642 5 месяцев назад +14

      I was about to say when I first moved out to a city from the farm I grew up on I received a similar system. As someone very used to a variety of big tools from my Dads shed in my day to day upkeep of our home I will say the attachments were frustrating at first but overall it was better than nothing! Especially for my husband who kind of didn’t get that benefit of learning life skills from his folks, it was very like beginner friendly so I could teach him how to use power tools safely, instead of on the ones my family had which are so old some of them don’t have very good safety mechanisms 😅 there’s a reason my Pepaw had his fingers reattached a few times 😂. So oversall I don’t knock the multitool sets and the little starter kits! It’s like a beginner sewing kit or cookware set. You don’t need to be a fashion designer or a master chef but you will probably want to fix the hole in the crotch of your favourite pants or eat dinner at some point! I just like seeing good ones to give to my cousins who are at the moving out age so I can give them something actually handy that isn’t an aliexpress pressure washer that I may be afraid of exploding 😰 I still use that beginner drill with cleaning attachments now actually 😂 that thing refuses to go down.
      I think a set like this is perfect for anyone at that moving out stage, plus if you have to get them gifts it gives the others to get them things we often don’t have at that point like the safety equipment 😅. Most college kids don’t have the money or the foresight for eye, ear, and hand protection in their tool kits! Persevere it while it’s still good 😂 👍

      I own and use a Matrix regularly although I only have two attachments, regular drill and impact driver. They did have a different system before the Matrix and I had one of those too but that was well over a decade ago. Craftsman also has one called Bolt-On that I think I saw was compatible with Matrix.

    • @toymao
      @toymao 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@pinkerbot Yes, they still have it, I've just bought a system last year.
      It's called the Matrix in North America, MultiEvo in Europe and Asia, but they are basically the same, the only differences are the color scheme and the cordless version has higher voltage in the Matrix than the MultiEvo (20V vs 18V)
      But I can tell by just looking at this video, the quality of the B&D products are multiple leagues higher than this one (granted, so is the price).

    • @pinkerbot
      @pinkerbot 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@toymao Agree. I have the B&D system myself, and i am very satisfied with it. For someone who doesn't use powertools that often, it is perfect.
      My point is, i think this review criticises the idea of one motor, multiple tools more than it does the quality of this particular brand - which it should.

    I bought a similar system from a middle man (didnt realize that aliexpress has these). And what I got definitely cannot substitute for a pro-sumer grade set of tools, but theyre easily at least 4-8 times what I can do with hand tools at my fastest, and they dont tire until the battery dies from what Ive used.
    I use my tools sparingly, and I dont have a lot of money. These things make stuff that were basically impossible to do on my own, to completely doable just takes a little longer.
    I got a drill, impact wrench, tire pump, recip saw, the base motor, charger and 2 batteries for 150usd.
    Edit: For the pump, I find it good for my road bike tires. Small volume, but you need to get it to pretty high pressures. The higher the pressure, the harder it is to cycle a manual pump, so I like it for that.

    I have the Ryobi version of the two lawn tools and love it. It's perfect for my needs. I have a huge hedge trimmer that I loved at our old house and my giant hedge line. But here, I have two barberry bushes by the front steps. The big trimmer and the extension chord needed is way overkill. The little Ryobi I bought is perfect for trimming those. The grass clipper attachment was a bonus I didn't know I needed. But it works perfectly on the tree lawn for around the telephone pole and cable box.
    Sometimes you just need the little tools because the 'real' ones are just overkill and create more work.
    Just like I could see that spray attachment being great for something that is out of reach of your normal garden hose.

      I had the opposite thing when we moved. I had a plug in big hedge trimmer but we only had two bushes right by an outlet so it was perfect! Now we have acres of pathways that I maintain so I had to buy an even bigger boy, gas powered, trimmer. The thing is amazing!

He quit laughing when I went through the first 2x8 like a hot knife through butter. When we got done, he said "I think I'm going to get one of those." An "Upscale" model of this with a bigger motor, better -made tools and gear select headers for jumpers on the tools would be absolutely fantastic. Bonus points if it can use the Ryobi batteries with the "Stem" on them, which _then_ enables the use of adapters for everything else so you can pick how it is powered, _including_ a direct-to-mains option with IEC 60320-compliant C21 connector (and C22 to C13 adapter).

    Well it's a light duty tool set. I do think expecting it to drive a 1" spade bit was asking a bit much of it. The most concerning to me was the sander. Nothing to do with dust collection, I just don't think it looked very efficient.
    Light duty tools are just that - you wouldn't buy them for trade applications. You'll pay at least as much just for one trade quality tool of reasonable quality.
    I have a few light duty tools and like them because they are cheap, very light, charge quickly, and I work mostly with plastics and soft metals. I also own trade tools but the applications are different.

It also has 120V, 12V, and 20V plus a air mattress inflator and tire inflator. I hate the actual valves stim piece it got chewed up with constant use and leaks faster then it can pump almost. The ability to use 3 different powers input is pretty much why I got it since so other brands don't make a 12V version with a 12V cigarette plug in which I mean Milwaukee.

    The double driver can also take a bit from a bit set. That is why the 1/2 is hollowed out. I think makita makes one.

    I like the look of your long clamps on the wall. Could you tell me who makes them & perhaps a demo? They look superb. Nice review of the multi-tool system. Some of them look useful.

      The long blue clamps are Rockler panel clamps. Harbor Freight has a similar knock off.

    This was very entertaining to watch. My only question throughout this video was: how long does the battery last?
    Don't think I'll be buying this tool though.
    I would love to see more 3d print and design.

      Looks like at least a 6 AH battery so should last a decent amount of time. If they've used semi decent cells might be 9 AH .

    This is a chinese knockoff of the Craftsman Bolt On A.K.A the Black and Decker Matrix. I had the Craftmas version and most of the attachements. For a DIY person they were wonderful. Loved mine. The attachments between the two were identical and were interchangable. I only just recently had mine go up in smoke after using it for over 11 years.

    Another thing. Is the steal hardened on the shears, or is it soft stainless steel. There were no blackened coloration from hardening to spot. At least I couldn't see it on a tiny cell phone screen

    I noticed you couldn't adjust it to a low speed. The digital selector looks similar to most chinese knockoff tools. The button does different things depending on the drill/impact rotation (clockwise or anticlockwise). Maybe that is how you get low speed.

    You dont need a key to tighten an angle grinder disc. Just make sure its off, id remove the battery, then you can tighten it by hand. Ive never used a key though they're available, its not necessary if you know how to do it by hand
