After watching these videos the past 3-4 months, I about cried knowing full well that neither competitor checked gravity boots from the get, even after acquiring them. And the fact that they could have both finished 20-30 minutes sooner makes me laugh and cry simultaneously. GG's all

Rewatching and like, we don't know if the missed card in game 1 was a lib card either - which guarunteed would have won the race for either of them if one of them picked it up. Would be amazing if both races could have been massively different if a thing was picked up.

That was one of the most entertaining sotn races I’ve ever seen, rando or not. DB’s reactions were the icing on the cake.
Wow, this was in fact the most shenanigan filled race I have ever seen, and perhaps will ever see.
It is so funny the way these two played the second race is one of the few times more average racers might have beaten them. But everyone has bad days, just crazy Fire and Jupiter managed to have their bad race on the same race... in the same way.

What does he mean "the meta"?
Generally it means what is the best current course of action in a competitive play of something. This includes itens, strategies, movement, glitches, etc. It changes accordingly with new improvements or strategies found.
In SOTN, generally (in the eyes of the runners), the best movement in the second castle (the meta) is to go for Right Side as the majority of bosses with relic checks (and faster movement throughout the map) can be achieved there.
But is not rare to see a Vlad Relic with Creature (boss in the Left Side), which makes it a powerful gamble.
