I believe you didn't play the game the way is supposed to be played. You werent communicating much. You were a sapper and didnt try to blow up the enemy vehicles. HLL is a lot more casual, less realistic and because of that, is more fast i think. Sq44 is not about the kill count, its about coordinating and get the job done and in the process kill some enemies (if you are lucky). Maybe you should give a try again and finish the match, and also try other maps, loadouts and then give an opinion (im saying this very respectfully).
Yeah, people come into HLL & Squad thinking it's supposed to play like Enlisted or CoD or Battlefield. They run around looking for badguys (which is a death sentence) and give up because they think it's a dying sim.
Its funny isn't it.. I personally think that Squad 44 will completely replace Hell Let Loose by mid 2025. Also adding the new company who purchased HLL and has dang near ruined it completely, it will probably be sooner🤣
@@TonyChristy-dy7qv I’m expecting the Pacific Release in December to ring in a huge number of players. My friend is waiting for that exact update to try the game
I tried HLL but hate 2 things. Nobody communicates and what is the point of medics? Squad 44 has great comms/planning. HLL is just another battlefield, solo kids looking for K/D
Yes the game sucks when playing with people who don't communicate, but I simply kick those from my squad (or leave such squads), once you get a functional communicative squad it's really awesome, even if you lose cause you know you tried your best as a squad. I also always add those people to my friendslist who play/communicate well so I can invite them later, often makes it much easier getting a good squad. However you're also reliant on the other squads and commander, when those are noobs (who brainlessly rush like it's battlefield), then it can be bad experience indeed, in most of such cases you'll just lose the game very fast. Being a bit more experienced I can spot that very quickly though and I'll just quit to look for a better server. So yea, sometimes you can have a bad experience, but that's not a game design issue, it's not intended to be played like battlefield at all and if both teams are somewhat decent it often leads to epic memorable matches.
You "tried" HLL and so you can say that nobody communicates? calling hll a battlefield like means you're a basic hater. The fact that people communicate or not have nothing to do with the game.
How to increase your stamina in this game ? It seems that you had some stamina issues, when your stamina is low you cannot aim straight and cannot sprint. To keep it up you have to drink with your canteen which is at the end of your inventory. With this element you can be more mobile and efficient in this game. Thats a verry unique mecanic in SQ44 which allow player to have a more immersive experience.
There’s so many features you didn’t use, like adjusting sights, bayonets, drinking water to replenish your stamina, etc etc, play with someone who can walk you through the paces and it could improve your experience
IMHO this game is better than HLL in every way. I have 1000 hours in HLL too and only 200 in PS Squad44 and I still stand by 44 more. Sound design, gun play, squad mechanics, objective play. Not to mention the tank play is like playing a tank simulator. Limited vision, sitting up out of the hatch, actually being able to dial in different ranges on the gun scope, the gear box and gear shifts are better, and now with the armor update being able to carry troops with them sitting on the engine deck and Americans being able to fire the 50 from standing behind the copula. The like 40+ new vehicles in the update is sick. The damn ricochets and ammo racks/cookoffs are sick. Sitting back and watching tank duels on 44 feels so much more like the weighted beasts they are than they do in HLL. Also, yes what most of your comment section is saying that you cannot run around in 44 like its HLL and expect to get kills, it's a slower paced more methodically squad driven battle reliant on comms. When you do go down everyone carrys one morphine syringe so everyone has the ability to revive you so dont just give up like in HLL where medics are a usless class where as in PS medics with like 11 syringes and bandages actually assist in keeping people in the fight. I played on Carentan today as a German radio man with the gewher 43 and got 28 kills all possible because my squad stayed together and worked together and as a team took out 6 American tanks and won. That kill at 11:26 was hilarious, btw that was an American he had a brown coat on and no tags over his name, and he got melted by the pak 36 at like 20 yards.
Hell let Loose is way too arcady for me, it really is just a battlefield on steroids. Squad always had better pacing and a more realistic feeling to it, you could actually apply tactics.
It's nothing like battlefield when playing with decent teams who communicate and play the logistics well (warfare mode atleast). Try finding good servers/squads and I bet you'll love the pacing and gameplay.
Tanking in Squad (not 44) is like claim a tank, wait 15 mins to spawn, drive for 30 mins to flank the enemy tank, get a kill, enfage some infantry, wait 30 mins for the enemy tank to pop up... That is a snail pace even for an extreme war of attrition. And when you go infantry you get the geriatric spaghetti hands =)))) no thq bro i loved some moments in it but is extremely boring...
12:00 This is not suppression fire mechanics!!! The guy can't play in a simulator at all. He wonders at 10:01 why he didn't hit, while his stamina bar is still low because he was running. SQ44 is not an arcade HLL but more of a battlefield simulator. In SQ44 as in life, the longer you run the harder you breathe and the harder it is to hit the target.
This Game is way better than HLL. Guns can be ranged. The bullet mechanics are more realistic. Tanks are more like War Thunder than HLL. If you get shot at you can see the Muzzle flash 12:10 And the Missions are way cooler.
My problem is when trying to attract new players, there is a risk that many players looking for "run and gun games" will start to ruin other people's games. This is what happens on SQUAD, for example the KDA means nothing in these games yet many of the new lone wolf players who want to have the most kills, die and don't even give time to be revived
If you’re going to play the game this way like a CoD campaign with a sapper loadout; I suggest playing a little more stealthy. Let the enemy pass if they don’t see you. Focus on bigger targets for your team.
Just played the update. Holy shit. Looks way better. Did they also update graphics? Looks more crisp and depth more immersive. Dont know how else to explain it. Everything feels more slow paced and realistic now.. like you actually gotta be careful 😂 absolutely mental

Honestly it's a poor choice of a map to get the best out of infantry gameplay if you're trying to have new impressions. The movement is "janky" if you compare it to faster paced games, but if you're trying to have a more realistic flavour in a WW2 shooter...it'll always feel janky as a comparison. If it was as quick as HLL or even worse BF2, then would that be realistic? The more slow and delay there is, the more consideration you need to put in every move you make. There's more gratification as a result when you're able to pull off whatever you're trying to do.
I like that they don't have that hitmarker sound like in HLL. but tbh, both games look the same to me. same kind of junkyness. same kind of game loop.. Idk if it have the same kind of stuttering HLL have
This isn't a game that is rewarding for casuals. You need to put in hours, to understand the tactics and priorities and to work with a squad. Run and gun solo play like this is looked down on by any experienced leader and will often mean you catch a boot from the squad.
I would really stay away from comparing HLL and Squad 44 with terms as better, it's highly subjective and doesn't really add anything. I have many hours in HLL and love the shit out of it, Squad 44 especially with the updates is a starting to become a nice breath of fresh air. They are both fun and just different, play what you like, enjoy what you like, be a decent human being and try to engage people to learn and communicate in the games you love to create a good community. You are part of it and can make or break it, it's not just an abstract thing over which you have zero control :) See you on the battlefield lads.
Not wrong about the jankyness, its still chalk full of bugs and crashes, however the team play is far superior to HLL. Try to link up with your squad. super fun! But some more time in the oven will defiantly help. They are working hard on it.

@CeceNomad no thats exactly how it works , its not a different game as the engine is exactly the same and since the devs of squad have bought post scriptum that is known as squad 44 they can do exactly that they could port an m4 carbine from squad into 44 with no problem even an abrams
T17 has ruined HLL that's it, no good updates on the way, brainless people that run n shoot, no team play.. it's not the same game anymore. I had a lot of fun and played for over 2600 hrs but.. I tried sq44 and I never looked back, it's simple a better game than Hll
You chose " Pioneer " but didn't go after the tanks. That was your job ! Understanding your role is rather important. Team work is as well. It's NOT HLL ! You team killed that player when you put the 3kg charge on the enemy vehicle and didn't warn everyone to get clear. You have to Yell something or they wont know ! Communicate everything you see or do. 2500 hour player advice.
They renamed Post Scriptum, what? .. I mean it make sense, who chose a dumb name like Post Scriptum to begin with? I remember trying to get friends into the game and when I started talking about it, the first they would do is make fun of the name
The original vision for Squad was to have both WWII & modern settings available under one title. There was disagreements or perhaps a mutual agreement that the scope was too large; whatever the case a new studio was created (now defunct Periscope Games) to helm the development & thus a new title had to be invented. Does it explain why they chose that specific title? No, but it does explain why this game has been through the ringer of bad choices in game design 101.
You don't like the game because you're a casual player. HLL is a casual arcade version of Squad 44. That isn't necessarily a bad thing as I find HLL easier to pick up and play for an hour than S44. I have 1,000 hours in both games and I can say with confidence S44 is a better game with considerably more content. The only shortcoming is the complexity of the game. We need S44 to be less punishing and more approachable, and I'm not sure how to do it.
I love this game for being a WW2 shooter, i just like the atmosphere and weaponry. Also sound design, explosions and some of the animations like bolt reload are awesome. But the gameplay and performance is a horse shit. The battlefield feel very empty ... maps are huge and players are scattered all over the place making it feel very empty, they should put one team here, another team there and between them objective so noone would get confused where to go, that would make the gameplay feel more sensible ... i think thats the problem players can just go anywhere but not objective making the battlefield empty ...
the game is only fun if you have a competent command structure if the squad leaders talk with their squad what they are doing why they are doing it and so on its good if they then talk to eachother from squad lead to squad lead its even better only then you have a slight chance that your squad wont run off in all directions and do what the fuck they want this is why i mostly play tank as there you litterary need to talk or you will blow up
@Red_R4ven i would love to join some clan or whatever but my experience has allways been that they are filled with 30 year old men who served their mandatory service 10 years ago and think they are super soldiers haha and they take it to the other extreme and are way to serious why cant one have fun and be effective at the same time?
@@Jake-bo1hd I'd agree on the sounds with regards to the weapon in your own hands, but the gunfire and other sound design around the player I think sounds better in HLL. This might be familiarity, though.
@@BigBossXCVMinimal isn't the issue, it is ugly, the menus also could use a little clean up. I like minimal but nice looking UI. The compass could use a face lift maybe give the option to put it up top if you want. Stuff like that.
People complaining that he's not playing it like suppose to ... i mean how he suppose to play it then? Like Sims or Euro Truck Simulator? Its a shooter mainly ... too much of communication and logistics instead of simply shooting stuff can make the gameplay worse ... it should be optional and rewarding for those who want to use it, but those who want to simply shoot stuff should be left alone, otherwise this game will never succeed ...
@@Red_R4ven So does HLL, the match quality is terrible when people don't work together/communicate, especially in warfare gamemode. Problem is the game is just infested by such noobs, so at times it can be hard finding good squad/servers etc. It's more of a community problem though, not game design.
@@Red_R4venNot claiming that HLL has the same strategic depth as PS/S44 :) But it definitely isn't as arcade/chaotic/unorganized as lets say battefield. For good games to happen you need two good coordinated and communicative teams. Agree about tacti, I don't like his style of playing either, ofcourse he doesn't enjoy a game like this much, because it doesn't lean to his solo playstyle of going for random kills (like he doesn't even seem to know what's happening in the grand scheme at all). Even in HLL he could have a lot more fun if he was more communicative (make valuable callouts) and put more effort in being a good squad member. Though I guess that's my definition of fun/arcade/hardcore, it's probably all subjective.
Nobody is insecure, Squad44 is just better and the People want to make it known HLL is a bit shit right now with no clear picture, whereas our Game has a clear vission, better gameplay and overall the superior realistic game of the 2....success has to do with marketing and all that which the previous developers didnt do well, now the New guys at offworld are doing good and absolutly schooling the developers of HLL how to do a proper trailer and update
And the same Squad 44 players will beg for people to get into the game because it's dead af and they got no one to play with. Always the same 60 boomers in the only populated server (before this new update and the temporary hype)
@@SONNENKVLTthere are multiple servers to play s44. Before this update. The hate started as soon as hll was released when their fanbois came to trash and troll ps steam forums. Very adult attitude.
@Jake-bo1hd bro before this update the average players was of 120. That doesn't even fill 2 servers. Now with this "game changing update" (lmao) you're lucky to get 4 to 5 servers, from which 1 or 2 are Chinese and 1 Australian (good luck playing with 400ms ping)
As you can see in the comments below, lots of different opinions. Some people seem to really value graphics, others seem to hate the idea of ''battlefield'' gameplay. But it'd be interesting to see what the devs will do for that game, graphical updates aren't really going to bring people back to the game, i have never ever returned to a game just because a building has different textures on them. They average like 200-300 daily players, its very clear that people do not enjoy playing that game but those very few people, otherwise more people would be playing it. Their core gameplay does not entice alot of people to play it, it caters to a very niche type of consumer of which there are very little, not enough to sustain a business model on. This is not financially viable. Squad 44 devs are in for a tough decision, adress the core gameplay to make it more appealing to the masses, lots of people i talked to for example hate the micromanagement of the canteen, but if you change that, you're at risk of pissing off the remaining 200-300 current players without the guarantee of actually drawing in new players. Or they can continue current course and update a couple of textures and animations for few years and hope that it just magically picks up amongst people. Tough decision to make. Also how do they plan to make this financially sustainable for the duration, dev wages aren't cheap, the updates are kinda meh that don't touch core gameplay so they dont really draw in new players so they aren't selling any copies. I wonder how long they think they can go for. A new update with a couple of updated textures drop, player count shoots up to 800-1k for a week and then gradually drops back to 200-300 in 3-4 weeks. These are all returning players, not new copies. It's a absolute money pit, and honestly i can see them pull the plug on it sooner or later if they aren't changing core gameplay mechanics.
@@Ribuerzius YEP 100%. No stamina CRAP awesome graphics, less bugs. YES LESS BUGS. Thats right even with the new bugs the retarded devs introduce there are LESS bugs. It's great that they can update both squad games together with only having to make some tweaks between the 2 styles of game
That's not how it works, those are two totally different games made by different people
@@CeceNomad Squad 44 was originally a mod for Squad
@CeceNomad no thats exactly how it works , its not a different game as the engine is exactly the same and since the devs of squad have bought post scriptum that is known as squad 44 they can do exactly that
they could port an m4 carbine from squad into 44 with no problem even an abrams
@@tavish4699 no because the coding of vehicles and gunplay and everything is completly different, only thing they can copy is the model
2500 hour player advice.
lol, no
They renamed Post Scriptum, what?
We need S44 to be less punishing and more approachable, and I'm not sure how to do it.
ruining it?
I love this game for being a WW2 shooter, i just like the atmosphere and weaponry. Also sound design, explosions and some of the animations like bolt reload are awesome. But the gameplay and performance is a horse shit. The battlefield feel very empty ... maps are huge and players are scattered all over the place making it feel very empty, they should put one team here, another team there and between them objective so noone would get confused where to go, that would make the gameplay feel more sensible ... i think thats the problem players can just go anywhere but not objective making the battlefield empty ...
the game is only fun if you have a competent command structure
if the squad leaders talk with their squad what they are doing why they are doing it and so on its good
if they then talk to eachother from squad lead to squad lead its even better
only then you have a slight chance that your squad wont run off in all directions and do what the fuck they want
this is why i mostly play tank as there you litterary need to talk or you will blow up
@Red_R4ven i would love to join some clan or whatever but my experience has allways been that they are filled with 30 year old men who served their mandatory service 10 years ago and think they are super soldiers haha
and they take it to the other extreme and are way to serious
why cant one have fun and be effective at the same time?
Find decent squad and PLAY like a team, not lonewolf who isnt even trying find enemy armors, you know role you picked.
after this update the game is pretty buggy
Bring it to console...as hll did
No, console players don't understand teamwork and tactical gameplay
Squad44 somehow still feels like an Arma mod to me. HLL just has so much more polish.
Eh not. Squad44 feels squad but in ww2.
Hll has terrible gun sounds and animations only place it wins is ofc graphics.
And i own both games
@@Jake-bo1hd I'd agree on the sounds with regards to the weapon in your own hands, but the gunfire and other sound design around the player I think sounds better in HLL. This might be familiarity, though.
the UI sucks... they gotta change dat
It's a tactical fps, the UI must be minimal. Go play battelfield and hush
Hi second dad why would you play this if there’s hell let loose
Bc this game is better. 90% of all the stuff that HLL has are way more in depth and better. The only bad thing is the movement (not really) and the UI
@@RustyBear no its not
@@Red_R4ven So does HLL, the match quality is terrible when people don't work together/communicate, especially in warfare gamemode.
Every video about squad44 is players trashing hll. I understand the insecurity because it's a more successful game but it's still kind of sad.
Hell let loose overrated I don’t like this vehicle health bar bull crap
gay let loose sucks
They cant even save actual Squad
They pulled the plug. Its joever
TRASH graphics, TRASH water stamina system TRASH bugs. No thanks.
You’re right, hll better? With an update with only a 12€ dlc and various bugs that make it impossible to play.
@@Ribuerzius YEP 100%. No stamina CRAP awesome graphics, less bugs. YES LESS BUGS. Thats right even with the new bugs the retarded devs introduce there are LESS bugs. I couldn't even change keybinds when I played the Squad44 TRASH. No flipping tanks. YES FLIPPING TANKS on CRAP44. Friendly player indicators, that work MUCH MUCH MUCH better maps and a MUCH better map, not like the TRASH map CRAP44 has. Im referring the TRASH map whe you press M. OWI introduce bugs with updates too so dont play like Sqaud44 CRAP doesnt have bugs. And lets not forget the SPAGHETTI update that we KNOW is coming even though OWI says isnt coming. We know it is because the spastics at OWI think its amazing. OH and did i Mention the 1990 Xbox graphics on CRAP44?
Awesome graphics? I think we playing two different games.
Plus i don’t understand people that still defend the team17 hll, is in an horrible state rn. I have spent almost 100€ and 360h on that game, i bought my Xbox just for hll, i had hope and expectations that will be a great tactical ww2 sim on console but after months what i get? A 12€ dlc? Seriously? I never said that isn’t a fun game but i see more dedication put on s44 than on hll.
@@Ribuerzius Well thats your problem, your're playing on xbox. Get a pc man, join the real world of gaming. Xbox sucks ass
the graphics suck
Dead game lol
Have you even checked the server browser recently? It’s getting more players now
@@PolfPolfdont feed trolls
@PolfPolf Yeah. Because it's hyped by the update. Give it a week or 2 and it will return to the same 120-150 players just like 2 weeks ago
@Jake-bo1hd Fanbois like you are the ones trolling. You killed Post Scriptum with your pointless elitism and ww2 larp. And now you all act as a cult trying to desperately get people to play because it's always the same 40 or 50 dudes playing on the weekend night
Er mer gerd! Finally!!!
PLAY WIT ME!!!!! 😁🪖
Type SORRY when you TK some one!
...How do you not know this old man?! 🤣
