Thank you so much for the price breakdown! I’ve been a 40K player for some time but have been collecting Stormcasts and Nighthaunt through the Mortal Realms subscription But this set reminds me of the Indomitus box set, and probably worth picking up! 😁
If you like 40k the stormcast are very close to space marines ( in concept ) , they have very high saves , good abilities and are generally good . The new models have excellent saves , deal many mortal wounds and can use a teleporter of sorts . these are mainly close combat models but they announced a chariot ( think speeder ) and an archer character . They appear to be pretty good , and having bought 2 boxes will have an army from the get go , plus the unique character should be convertible to a living saint or a sob character !
Even better deal now at the start of 2023. Just ordered brand new sealed for $100! Was already decent when released at your estimated ~60% off, but another $100 off on top is an amazing start to AoS.
Might actually end up buying the biggest one they release, especially if it follows the trend of same miniatures as in smaller version + terrain and proper board. One can always use some extra boards for warcry and kill team and I recently realized all my terrain pieces are more sci fi and dont really fit into AoS games.
Answer is always yes. If you even plan on getting the new rules book, you're passing up hundreds of dollars of models for like 35% the cost if you don't get this. I can see maybe not being interested in the two factions, but I know for myself I like enough of a faction that I'd take anything for even a deep discount. For these two factions, I already have Stormcast and was interested in building a Orruk Warclans army eventually.
Ithink you have been very generous with the approssimation of prices. I can see Yndrasta and the Killaboss being around 40 euro (like the recent radukar werewolf form model), also the 20 Hobgrot Slittaz should be around 40 euro (compared to the recent new boxes for the undeads and the skeletons). Of course you could be right, but I think GW is going on another price increase with their latest release
I agree, the prices seemed optimistically low to me as well. Would be nice, but I kinda doubt the individual box sets of these troops will be this "cheap".
It looks like the Dominion will be enough for everyone, even me. Very cool. My next concern: I want to get updated all Legends rules for old fantasy miniatures for the new Edition, like for 40k. Especially for Age of Sigmar worlds (Mortal Realms), not a reconstruction of the Old World. Because the Age of Sigmar instantly got my love because I was finally able to use round bases for fantasy models and paint them the way I want, not as in books.
Thanks for including that Sequitor for comparison along with the Annihilators. I was worried the new Stormcast were basically going to be 'Primaris' versions and wouldn't fit scale/style wise with the old ones. But actually seeing them next to eachother, that doesn't appear to be the case. Really looking forward to this set!
No, with the primaris marines it was the other way around: it was the older models that did not fit with the scale, and the primaris marines were closer to truescale. There is no such problem with Stormcast because they're not 20 year-old sculpts like a lot of the firstborn marines were.
I am an Ad Mech/Guard player, but the box intrigued me. Ordered and looking forward to a new system. Thank you for the great video and info. Greetings from Ontario :-)
Question for people who are going to paint the kruleboys. What paint scheme are you going to use? Personaly I think I'm going to paint their skin with khorne red and their teeth with something black. My inspiration is the red uruk from lord of ring.
My guess is this is a low estimate in savings. I'm betting the you won't be able to buy the annihilators as a set of three, they'll come in a box of 5 like the other paladins and cost around $100 AUD. Generally speaking, you'll get more models per individual pack, but they won't be the discounted push fit (easy to build) packs you can buy currently.
What makes you think they'll come in packs of 5 instead of 3? Is there rules for the squad size being 3-5 or something? (Sorry, just got into AoS from 40k)
@@JohnDoe-mb3xy Yeah, the previous start collecting kit contained three retributors (paladins), but the minimum unit size for paladins is 5. (Or at least it still is at the moment in 2.0). Annihilators are paladins, so what you're getting in dominion is likely an undersized unit. I could be wrong, of course. Maybe annialators will have special rules and a unit size of three (or maybe the latest general's handbook will change the minimum unit size of all paladins to 3), but I suspect dominion is a similar marketing ploy to the start collecting set. I think they did the same thing with the Grimghast Reapers for the Nighthaunt in the starter set for Soul Wars. I wound up ebaying both those units to get enough models for a full size unit.
@@threewiseman1 Interesting. Thanks for the info. I figured this would be a similar kit to the Indomitus one that I purchased, and the units given would be enough for a squad. ... hope so lol
@@JohnDoe-mb3xy Yeah, would be great if that's the case. But I figure there's usually a reason for such a heavy discount - to entice you to buy more models lol.
@@JohnDoe-mb3xy Hey man, was just watching this vid. ruclips.net/video/VoGwGjNBBwk/видео.html . Both Annihilators and Praetors are a min unit size of 3. The other Paladins are still 5. Very happy to be wrong!
Thanks for the excellent breakdown. One quick question. Are the contents full units? Soul Wars was an annoying starter set as the units weren't the right size to play a normal game.
According to the pitched profile cards that came with their warscrolls, yes they are full units, at least until something comes out to say otherwise 🤔 And the Vindictors and Hobgrots are reinforced size (double the minimum unit size), again, according to their pitched profile cards in the set :)
Hey this is not random question but Is 1000 points of sigmar fun to play? I got "some" soul blight meaning 60 skeletons 10 grave guard 10 black knights a wight king and a vampire lord is that a horrible list I worry about my opponent not being able to have fun from the sheer amount of skeletons I got Tldr is skeleton spam too op?
You could grab some Apocalypse templates so you move your army in fives rather than one by one 👍🏻😁 1000 pts IS fun to play, and a great number for just getting started. I wouldn't suggest going any larger until you've practiced with those units It sounds like a perfectly reasonable list to start off with :)
I'm in Aus. My LGS had them at a special pre-order price of $270. There's also a listing on eBay atm for some big store doing pre-orders at $280 (with a $10 discount from ebay they have going at the moment, works out the same).
Yeah, i have ordered mine at that price from a 3rd party Aus store. I was just commenting on the GW 'Aussie Tax' that's been there since about the mid 90s.
@@jameslittleton4131 Nice. Yeah, the Aussie tax is cooked. Across the board, so many products receive it. Expensive instruments are soul crushing for me lol. Sometimes an extra 500-1000 AUD.
I like that the rules presentation is easier to read and understand (new player here). However, is there explication on what is needed after? Like chapter approve, the books with lore like Morathi and Kragnos. Are they needed, which one I need to play?
The only thing I like about this box are the Stromcast Eternal shields. The Orcs are not funny anymore and the Stormcasts mostly look like knights from the 16th century here in Europe. It does not scream fantasy anymore. Why did the main hero figure get real feathers? That's a thing Zteentch uses. I liked that the SE have artificial wings that use magic to make you fly. A soldier with armour is still much to heavy to lift with real feathers, so she needs magic anyway to fly. The model looks great, but its out of place for me.
I paint mine like marble (because I hate myself) but a stonecast eternal army looks soo good. I think midwinter minis did a video on it? I know i've seen it somewhere
Am defenitely more of a painter than a player. Easy to build stuff and only 60 models, you'd be better off getting something that isn't so stingy. The singular kits will probably look 10x better like has always been the case.
Your audio is so diluted. It’s a wash of whispy, fricatives and inhales. You need a different microphone and you need to work on your phrasing and diction. When you smack your lips or tisk it hits the mic like a ton of bricks. You need to use your jaw as you speak because all of your words are getting blended together. You need to annunciate.

I'm going to with a darkish Grey armor with a dark bronze armor trim, Blue plumes if there any, and crimson red tassets.
