Gotta love saving them from the scrap heap! I just revived a '98 LR Disco 4.0 V8 after an 8 year slumber. Now it's time to fix the frame rust and get working brakes. Cheers from Canada!
My dad had a similar rover, he owned it for 3 years, than sold it. When the car left our family, I was 2 years old, and the rover 820 was the first car for me to sit in the driver's seat. I'm 17 now, on my way to getting a driving license and buying my first car, and now I'm considering buying a similar 820!

Our family used to own one of these. It was a 1989 (pre-facelift, no grill on the bonnet), 4 cylinder, gasoline, Rover 800 Sterling. Too bad they all suffered from heavy rust all across the car body + finding spare parts for this car in Latvia was one hell of an adventure as it was prone to breaking a lot ):
We had those in the US. They were called sterling. From 1987 to 1991. 825's and 827's. Had a Honda V6 engine from the Acura Legend. Only knew one person who owned one. They really liked it.
Had the 827sli version of this. That engine was silky smooth and straight from the Honda. Lovely old bus she was u til the dreaded tin worm started to eat her alive.

One of my favourite British cars the Rover 800 series that us British made. You do a good job of bringing the cars back to life after so many years.

Congratulations on 200k it came quick the rover would prob clean up well with a clean and a bit of love
I had the 2 door version of this (in blue also!) back in 2006 and it was a beast!
One of the best looking cars ever made, quality never to be seen again in an ‘Everyman’ car. Should be in a museum. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I used to borrow one of these Rovers from work back in '95. I remember thinking it felt smooth, fast and quiet but way out of my price range!
I had one of those but in the Uk was known as a Vitesse, I miss it greatly . Regards mark
