There is just something incredibly beautiful about a full rottweiler air intake system and the SAS delete. Love it! Id be really keen to see a bit of a break down of the cost to do a build like this, your videos have inspired me to get involved! I thought the air intake for the 690 was super easy to install, especially compared to the 790/890 adv, there was a lot to do there. Great vid as usual, cheer Chops!
Rottweiler I can vouch for. You grab a gob of Go! right in mid-range, where you cruise at. It would be fun to see a Dyno of just the Rotty--then with header added--compared to stock.
The stock airbox looks like its been designed to maintain a high air intake speed so you may loose low down response and torque removing it but you will gain bhp high up in the revs.
G'Day Mr Chops. You mentioned that you didn't want dust going into the intake, i would have thought nuts, washers and screws would have been a bigger problem. Cover the intake with a clean rag mate. This will be a neat machine when its finished.
That Hypermotard will be so much better when you get the missing cylinder head back. Running it as a single you must be seriously down on power. With that extra cylinder you might not need all that induction stuff. Looked better in red as well.
Looking good. I just wish aftermarket manufacturers wouldn't plaster their branding all over everything. I usually don't upgrade things on my bikes just because I don't want 75 different logos all over them.
Awesome! Got the same bike, 19 and will be using your vids as a guide to upgrade mine. Psyched to save money doing the mods myself. Foresee periodically checking in with you along the way. Thanks
Excellent entertainment for a boring Boxing Day morning. I wouldn’t have the talent to do this to my bike but it’s strangely addictive. Actually now I’ve watched it I think I could give it a go,it so well explained and I’m glad I’m not the only one who drops screws at inconvenient moments 😀
Hmmm, wonder what the underneath of your seat and surrounding area is going to look like after that nice sticky filter oil starts creeping everywhere? There's a reason foam filters are normally inside a box with a drain hole (it's not just for water). Just a thought seeing it is so nice and squeaky clean at the moment.
Hey Chops, great video - now I haven't watched a build video through to the end yet, will there be a costings list done at some point, love to know cost of spec-ing up the bikes!
Make sure you extend the fuel tank overflow otherwise it will piss fuel all over your shock/ frame when doing wheelies. It’s connected by that y piece into the fat hose removed with the SAS delete
Love the bike Brother 🤙 I just picked up the 20 enduro r with the same header and pipe. But I went with twin air for the intake.. Smaller than rottweiler and came with an extra 5.5 litre fuel tank which sits completely and comfortably right under the seat hidden
Hello chopsy, doing this on my bike at the moment. When deleting the SAS system, how did you dealt with the brass nipple on the left side? And do you know if it’ll ever be used in the future?
Very interesting, thinking of doing a SAS removal on my superduke 1290 gt. If you go full Rottweiler air box do you have to fit a power commander. Cracking video
Just one idea, chops... think about a lock-wire kit. Race-cool and a genuine safety increase for a minimal cost. I’ll be following this build closely. Plenty of time for us as our wings have all been clipped for a while (tier 4) 👍👍
Keep all the original pipework / air box and kit you remove. When you go to sell the bike they might want to have the original parts back on (dealer will charge them a bomb). Its always easier to get replacement oem parts then aftermarket bits.
Love the vids and work you do chops! Made it an easy decision to become a patreon getting these vids earlier👍 Would love to see some LCR baseball caps in the merch section 🤞
Hey chopsy love your build inspiring me to modify my 690 smcr 22 can you point me in the right direction to purchase the airbox and sas delete and will it be ok with my Remus slip on? Keep up the amazing content 🙂
Great video thanks.....can I ask where you bought this kit from ? Directly through them from the states or is there a uk dealer that you use for all the rottweiler parts Cheers mark
Yes it will wear quicker but good weight reduction and of course gyroscopic effects spinning objects etc.. but basically looks better also and are cheap to replace
dam you chops, got a superduke coming to the end of its pcp, im swaying towards a 690 to replace it as it looks so fun, you think i would regret the change ?
Great video mate, I pretty much done all you had done to my 2019 enduro but I also have motard wheel set up also. A fantastic 72 horsepower to the rear wheel. Soooooo much fun😀
@@LambChopRides 2 x bikes in one. I do also like the look of the enduro forks a bit better and longer travel than the SMC. But such a fantastic bike. Clocked up 17k's on it so far. Love it to bits.
@Pete Pester 2019 model, just one slight inconvenience is when I change over the ECU has to be reset for the different diameter wheels. The engine light stays on until is reset at my local KTM dealer. But is super awesome😀
Nice vid Chop the Rotti looks a lovely bit of kit, I’m going slightly different myself, pity there wasn’t a little more detail on the SAS delete kit but looks simple enough. Question: if airbox , SAS deleted do you need a Power Commander if not seeking any more power as mine is the Enduro model and used for the trail?
Chopsy did you drop a tooth on the front sprocket when you had that LC4 thumper a few years back? I'm looking to get a cheap supermoto to accompany my z800 and the LC4 seems the best candidate for around £3k.
From a four finger aperture to a full fist gap 😜 I suppose it's somewhere to keep the pies warm 🤔 lol. Nice to see the old intro too. Hope you and the family had a cracking Christmas and wishing you all a Cool Yule! 🥳
Man I am dying to hear how the new filter and power commander work together. That and the dashboard board assistant, I would love to put both those on my 690
@@LambChopRides I have the same can with the baffle in. Sounds great, all the right sounds without being earsplitting. I am going to try the baffle out once I get my PCV from Rottweiler.

KTM have to make the bike compliant with all the noise and emissions regulations for the markets where the bikes are sold. No doubt, a lot of thought and development went into the original airbox.
Yes lacking something really quick for larger tracks.. might end up on this or the Hypermotard next year I suspect.. sticking to tracks like Brands and Cadwell probably 👍

I’ve got the Techmo header on the 701
You might want to find a longer heat shield coz I keep burning my trousers 😤
KTM love over engineering their bikes. I bought a Super Duke this year and I'm dreading having to do any maintenance on it seeing all the wiring.
doing intake and PCV on my 690 with a wings can.... very excited
Cool project with the KTM.
For me personally there's something special about the old air cooled Ducati Hypers.
Really like these build series!! Keep up the great work!!

I never thought that an air filter could be a thing of beauty, but that one certainly is.
Just when you think Xmas can’t get any better, a new SMCR vid! Cheers Chops 👍
How's the new LED headlight and the light beam? Is it better than an LED bulb inside the old headlight?
Just a thought.keep that intake closed with a cloth of sorts to stop nuts and bolts falling into throttle body?Great video, thks.
@Pete Pester And mine!
By far the best motorcycle vlogger left going, all the others are QVC channels now sadly.
I’ve got a 690, and looking at the air filter upgrade. This one seems expensive compared to the DNA, surly there can’t be much difference?
Awesome video. If I was to do this mod, do I have to do a remap or would it work standard? Thanks in advance

15t front is definitely the way to go, there’s barely any trade off, and well worth the difference
Ok brilliant thanks 👍

Nice! Not sure if your aware already but I noticed at 13:00, a screw was sat on top of the base plate before you put the air filter on.

Great vid Chops and thanks for uploading over the Xmas period. Your a saviour 🙏👍
No worries Phil glad I could help 😁👍🍻
I assume all the hardware that was removed was for the manufacturer to comply with emissions, or was it to make the output smoother and more refined?
