    I see that a lot of questions are being answered so, I hope mine does. I have a 1978 Datsun and both the tail light don't work, the stop light works, and the turning light works, but the other one don't. I looked underneath the steering wheel, and saw a cable disconnected. I connected the cable, turn on the car and lights, and it blew the fuse, any idea why and/or how to fix it?

    I'm having problems with the fuse in my York FG8C10016MU11A gas furnace. It blows immediately when I power it up..I imagine it's something to do with the 24v portion of the system. I changed out the Tstat and wire, but have no clue where to start looking for the short...Any advise would be appreciated.
    Again, awesome series of videos... Thanks !

      Elaine Costigan Remove all wires from the terminal board. Replace fuse, then attach one wire at a time starting with common. When the fuse blows after attaching a wire you know where to look. Hope this helps.

    When the plug in is not grounded like a vintage one. Is that a possible cause?

    • @grayfurnaceman
      @grayfurnaceman  2 года назад

      No. Ground is not fused. If there is a short to ground, the fuse may blow, but the lack of a ground, if anything, will not make the fuse blow.

      You should take fuse a little bit more rating than power supply

      Either the motor in the vac is locked up or the wiring to it has shorted.

      the motor in the vac can rotate i her it, about the wiring vac can not be on if there is a shorted circuit.

      @grayfurnaceman  8 лет назад +1

      If it is rotating and it has a rating plate of less than 20 amps, the motor probably has a shorted winding.

    I‘m curious, I didn’t hear what part is weak link? I don’t think I heard the words “weak” or “link” enough...

    Why they blow up sometimes out of nowhere? I have seen some fuses even blow up when there is no short.

      grayfurnaceman Today my customer called me because his new Trane XB95 Furnace wasn't working(only 3 years old and I installed 3 years ago). He left for vacation last week and came back yesterday, and this happened. I went overthere this morning, and change the fuse start working right away. I checked everything no short or anything. A little bit dusty furnace though. I am just confused, I hope I don't have to go back there.

      Guy Hakverdi I went on one today that had blown several low voltage fuses. In the outdoor unit there was one place where the thermostat wires took a sharp corner against a sheet metal guard. Noticed a tiny arc spot less than 1/32d of an inch across. You have to look very close sometimes.

    At 2 minutes you say, "Watch what happens when this blows." So, I'm sitting on the edge of my chair waiting and then you TALK for another MINUTE finally saying that when it happens, we'll hardly see it. Seriously dude?
