    As you can see by my photo, I had many years of cutting, sleeveing, crimping, soldering and placement of cables for the many servo's in this size of plane. Buying them done is a no brainer. Those cables look awesome!

    Goddamnit jay. Why you make me want this? I just looked at the custom sleeving page, for paracord, 60$ for a 24-pin extension. This is now something to add on to my "future upgrades" list.

    They are expensive but being in teh processes of making my own cables I can tell you that a lot of the price is in labor because its very very labor intensive. Im doing a white set with a hint of red paracord sleeving on the set that Im doing. You can save yourself some money and do them yourself but it takes a lot of practice. Mine are obviously not on the same level as mike's but Ive gotten them to the point where they are acceptable to me. I would suggest that anyone doing this DIY style to order some extra stuff and practice a lot first maybe on an old PSU or something. The look is amazing though and Mike is a really good guy. My first order I had a little problem with a shipping delay but when i contacted Mike about it he not only fixed teh problem he hooked me up with some stealth combs and some extra sleeving to make up for their oversight. My second order went off without a hitch and Ive bought a lot of their stuff. Its good quality stuff. I cant say enough good about custom cables (either made or DIY) or Lutro0 Customs. Both are awesome!

    That's good sleeving, I'll have to buy some of their gear to do my new PC... I can't decide on anything right now. Lol

  • @infernalGotYou
    @infernalGotYou 10 лет назад +2

    you were dead wrong about those stealth-combs.. they were meant to be in the middle because the further the wires are from the connector the more room they have to NOT line up relatively to eachother, there comes in the combs to set the new default shape from that point on, that's why the longer the cable the more combs will me added (every 10cm [4"] a comb maybe)

    Lutr0's the one that inspired me to sleeve my cables. I'm going for a black, gray and white paracord sleeve, because paracord is super cheap on Ebay and i love the look and feel from it.

    I'd really like to see cable sets that were color coded for their purpose. For instance power could be black, SATA could be blue and PCI-e could be red. That way if I want a PCI-e cable I don't have to look at the connectors, I just grab a red one! Should be ease to package sets like this with existing inventory.

    I actually love sleeved cables and sleeved extensions, if only they were cheaper...I know it involves quite the work and time but paying 65€ for a Corsair or a NOX PSU ( which is the average Plus bronze/silver prices in EU ) then paying 110€ for 4 cables is just not right and another 90€ or so for 4 extensions lol, it´s a bit too much, almost twice the price of a good PSU. but it´s just my opinion.

    I'm sold. They just look amazing, and there is no way I could do something like that myself... I just wish I had that color scheme also. I've got Asus mobo/gpu. I do think I'd like to keep the wires something neutral, that would work with other build colors. Cause at those prices, I'd want them to last for more then one build. ;)
    *My Seasonic X-850 wires look horrible. They don't even bother braiding the 24 pin, and the PCIe all split and are eyesores. They aren't the wires shown in my profile, that pic was when I still had a TX850M in there that at least had acceptable wires with some braiding.

    I also love their stuff, but it is sort of expensive, but its because it takes a while to do them. I actually might buy sleeving from them to make my own, but you make a very good point like if I wanted to change my psu in the future then I could just use something like these. I think my 24 pin connector clip is actually the opposite then what you had I believe I can't remember, but I think it was on the outside or something unless it was the 8 pin that was the opposite from another motherboard I had it on. Just out of curiosity, how much was all that that you got?

    The reason he sent two cutters is cause. There is one for sleeve and one for copper, because cutting copper will dull your cutters and make it hard to make a clean cut on the sleeve. That info is in his videos.

      Lets be honest here 24 wires here ! So if you worked out just say a hour to do (Works out at 2.5 minutes a wire) Then yeah $60 is right , hours work and parts used then profit ! But also they do offer DIY kits which are great priced ! Would work out close to $60 to do your whole PSU ! So at the end of teh day your paying for a professional piece of work !

    • @HardwareAddiction
      @HardwareAddiction 10 лет назад +3

      Most people are encouraged to get the materials and do it themselves. Such labor will always be expensive. Think of it from your own pov. You'd not bother to make these for less than 50$. Well, it goes to show you don't know the time frame and skill required. With that said, it's not as hard as it might seem. Materials are relatively cheap too. Lutro is A+++ seller, highly recommended. :)

    • @jordancollings2889
      @jordancollings2889 9 лет назад +1

      I've done it myself using their products and I spent about $24. If you have them do it you might have to pay more but it would be great quality.

    • @jordancollings2889
      @jordancollings2889 9 лет назад

      Hmm, let me think, it was their PET sleeving (I used dark blue, grey, and black for my build). That was about $6 for 25ft I believe. So 6x3=18. The power supply I bought was fully modular, so I ended up trimming my cables to length and sleeving them using tutorials. The PET sleeving allows you to do it without using heat shrink. (search heat shrink less method) The other money was spent on misc stuff. ( I think I something wrong and had to buy more sleeving, I'm not sure) All I know is that they sell a lot of tools, but you don't necessarily need to buy them unless you're doing a lot of wiring.

    Why do everyone like the separated cables vs the old style sleeving with them all wrapped together? It doesn't seem NEARLY as efficient for airflow to have them all separated, but I guess this is where asthetics wins over functionality and cost?

      These are completely optional and like you said are for aesthetics only.

      ***** they make more sense with watercooling as the internal case's airflow isn't as critical when using a radiator
