It's mostly only a danger when operating heavy machinery, but a common way to avoid the risk and keep your ring close to you is to get a necklace chain and just wear the ring as a necklace. Also for when you're cooking, for sanitary purposes, or if it just gets uncomfortable.

Silicone rings are what my fiancé and I wear for everyday use because our jobs revolve around mechanical work and yes, if you get your finger caught while wearing a metal ring, chances are you’re losing that finger. Silicone rings are significantly cheaper and come in a whole range of colors 👍🏻
