A few things... 1) Your hair is glorious when you take your cap off. 2) I list my items as soon as possible. Why leave them sitting around? If you've got the time, get them up and sell them. 3) That was my Sold version of Dad's Army you comped! I've sold it twice now, both super quickly... Random! 4) Is it bad to sell your iPhone box with all the bar codes and IDs still on? I feel like dodgy people are buying them to sell stolen phones...
He did say this is just his speculation/opinion, but TechnSports said in his last live that he believes that it is better to manually launch your listings than schedule them. Apparently scheduling makes them “active” in the background of eBay so although it isn’t available for customers to purchase, it is “active” for that time that’s it sitting waiting to be scheduled. Hope I explained it right, you could always go back to that video to see exactly what he said.
invest in some small bubble mailers (need to buy minimum 100 at a time) but they are so much bigger than the small satchel, you could easily get that book set in a small padded mailer at small satchel cost, not have to go up to medium
Are you using both sticky strips on the satchels to seal them? You only need to use the outer most strip, the other one is there for the recipient to reuse the satchel if they need to for returns etc. Could save you some time sticking both strips all the time hahaha.
I think the last 2 weeks have slowed down not only on offers but also views on each item. I follow an American Bayer on RUclips and he mentioned his store is 20 years old (50,000 item) and glitching where his new (2500 item store)2nd store is running smoothly and gets more hits, offers and view. My store is 18 years old and at only (202 items) I get zero views on most items. I have been away for 5-6 years and only just 2 months ago got back into eBay after watching you thank you.
Really enjoy the lengthy videos you make. Great to stay entertained while listing. Love that your girlfriend has been getting involved too. She seems so lovely.
Great video Matt love long videos❤ u need to set up ur thermal printer it is legit a game changer u won’t know yourself I promise you it’s so easy once it’s set up 😃
I scheduled listings for a week, we had repairs to do to our property from storm damage. I haven't sold a single thing for the week now. Wont schedule ever again.
do the wrestling figures do well? I have 100s of the old figures mint on card from when I was younger don't know if it would be worth holding them for another 5-10 years of trying to get rid of them now
Thanks for keeping it real in this video and showing your errors. I make similar mistakes and when I do I feel crappy. I ofcourse am not happy you made your mistakes, but its reassuring to know that I'm not the only one :) Great videos, keep it up. Your an inspiration.
ill send you houso's and get her to sign it mate plus having a garage sale this weekend to downsize some stock planning on moving at some point can't take it all with us. We are still watching just really busy great job, she is a lawyer as well so she is always busy.
Hope to see you this Sunday at Carrara mate. We have over 4,000 DVDs to sell at $1 each, Some big hitters that might fill your lack of stock. I also have about 500 CDs if that would help you. Come and have a personal pick if want mate. where up south Brizzy. Chat Sunday
WOW you definitely got to get a grip on those DVDs to many mess ups. Whoever listed them is the once that made the mistake. BUT that is what happens when you do not do everything yourself. You risk your business if you do not double check your employees work.
TechNSport has done a metric sh*t ton of testing and believes that draft bank is better than scheduled. As far as he can tell, when you schedule it, the listing counts for the day you do it and set the schedule NOT the scheduled day. He says with his testing, you are better off to do drafts because when you click list, it counts for that day.
wow the pokemon market is INCREDIBLY different here in NA compared to Australian prices. That Aerodactyl would only sell for $8-10 USD here... what rate would you guys take on consignments for? haha
i draft 7-8 a day night before & list them next day while at work or rqandomly through out the day say during a gym session or out doing groceries. no issues for me.
I know you're out of the shoe game mate but when you were selling them did you have any luck with kids shoes? I ask because family members gave me shoes to sell as their kids have outgrown them. Good shoes like Jordans and Air Max.
@@emusaurusyeah you’re right.. but for something you can pick up for $2 at a thrift store and flip for $30.. -$10 for shipping n fees.. not a bad flip.. and mine sell within 2 weeks of listing.. most in under a week.
There is no way you are making the profit you claim to be with media products you are paying a lot for first up…then free postage+ Cost of goods. A $30 sale…+ ebay fees and promotion while accepting offers. Even with band discounts you’re paying $10 small satchel and around $14 medium and that is bugger all profit. Sure you are making a bit…but forgive the punter that your numbers are dodgy and ebay is a prop for youtube. You don’t even have the media stock on hand there to justify your numbers. You used to encourage followers to get into sports shoes. Now you’re back to buying box sets of DVDs for $15 then making ‘amazing’ sales and ‘ profits’ with items that seem to have a $10 margin at best. What gives here Matt?
I'm sure that Matt can defend himself but I would just coment that, while some sales give pretty slim profits, others can be healthy. I'm no guru, but if I look at my last few media sales, I can see a gross profit per each item as follows: $4.40 (DVD box x 3 discs), $26 (single VHS), $26 (another single VHS), $12.15 (2 books), $9.99 (DVD boxset), $6.95 (3x books), $17.95 (coffee table book) and on and on it goes. So to presume that all his sales have sucky margins based on some guesstimates seems a bit rich. Yeah, they're the kind of margins that require volume or alt. products or income streams, but you don't know all his variables.

That was my theory too. Sort of like how when you start listing items and suddenly you have a bunch of send offers avaliable.
that's annoying...why do you do this to us ebay 😩
This is correct
I just leave mine sitting as drafts. then it only takes a couple of clicks to publish the ones I want on the day I want
@ yup, the old faithful draft bank

100%
The savings you get from using them more than negates the $1 cost per mailer and offers way better protection and volume.
Awesome content. I’m a flipper here in Northern California and enjoy your videos. Currently at $400 a day over past 90 days and aiming to do more.
Incredible

Quality items with a high average sale price and fast sell through rate if listed correctly will always sell no matter how old a store is! Keep going
I have sold full Agatha Christie sets at least 5 times. Sometimes for more than $300. I am always on the lookout!
i do draft listings, i have never even scheduled them. i just use drafting listings for when im out on a weekend or something like that
7 x DVD seasons fit into a Small padded mailer. Not sure why your telling your viewers to use the higher Medium postage rate to ship them.
I document what I do

From the testing that ive done personally - scheduling ahead killed my store and it was better to manually launch.
I scheduled listings for a week, we had repairs to do to our property from storm damage. I haven't sold a single thing for the week now. Wont schedule ever again.
Sooo interesting! Take it as a lesson learned! Draft listings are the way to go!

they do!
Good video guys, I think you do a good job of keeping it real re. the challenges and opportunities, and the all important focus on the numbers. 👍👍👍
For taxes do you have withhold 50% for each gross sale, unless it's a net loss? Or only if it's a net profit, is it 50% of gross sale or net sale?
income minus expenses is profit. that's what you pay tax on

12:37 do you charge shipping is the buyer paying shipping for that one just curious ?
Great video, liking the long form 👍 I do draft listings, never scheduled.
I do draft listings, my sales have been amazing the last three weeks…I only schedule social media posts!!!
Hey mate im ready to upgrade my lighting setup.. what's yours ? Or what do you recommend?
Thanks mate Luke ( at $4500 plus sales now)
Hey Luke, I've got a link to my box lights in some of my older videos.. maybe 5 7 or 8 videos ago onwards. Well worth the investment!
what is a medium satchel?
Search AUS Post to find out :)

So you’re now doing EBay full time?
He has always been full time
@ oh ok. He replied to a comment on another video saying he does it part time.

Kate must be very tall too unless she’s filming from a ladder!

I’ve found kids sports footwear does really well (soccer/footy boots).. but kids sneakers etc don’t do as well as adults and teens.
@@TheWolfAmongSheep Thank you, I was also given soccer/footy boots and shorts
They sell eventually. I've sold a few kids footy boots I've found on hard rubbish. People don't want to pay much though

Bad dad joke!! 😂 everyone makes mistakes, thats life. It’s how you recover that counts! 😊
So, does only 11% of eBay sellers have a positive mindset? If so, that's a crazy figure 😂 😉
The easiest way to come up with a figure is to make it up, eleventy ten percent of people know that
I try and have drafts lined up 🙂
Hows Courtney going 😞
