@@dailybackup8372 There's no point adding a shipping price because that's all going to be included within the fees. Unless you're willing to do a local pick up and lose money, its not worth it
Yep, no doubt some good profit on some items but it shows that a good amount of your sales are low profit. When you consider the 14.5% fees and the fact that a lot of these sales are also promoted listings that you'd expect to be around an extra 10% it doesn't leave much left. It is a learning curve though and you are often pivoting all the time as you learn what makes good profit and what doesn't and how fast or slow certain items sell. You also need to look at the return rate/INAD which is high on categories like clothes and probably CD's/DVD's.
@@tdubs21Although I agree, the problem is the massive companies that offer 'free postage' because they get massive shipping discounts which has put the expectation in the buyers mind of 'free postage'. In reality we know that free postage does not exist and is built into the price. Then we have the fact that a lot of stuff coming from overseas gets subsidised so that is it almost free postage. eBay also promotes 'free postage' so it is easy to get sucked in. In reality all of it creates the advantage for the big players whilst penalising the smaller sellers.
Happy to see you finally discovered CDs. At some point they were 80% of my sales. The highest single CD sale I had was a $140 Slipknot album. Everything rock, metal, and box sets go really well. I feel the sourcing is less competitive compared to DVDs, but it has definitely picked up lately.
You can pick up an all regions dvd player new for $30. I’m finding a lot of the newer dvd players are all region. Aus post will have them for $29 from Wednesday 20th.
i bought 3500 cd collection off market place for 500.00 i have sold 366 of them for a profit of 5595.06 so far , still have over 5 huge boxes to list , slowly getting through them though some of them have surprised me when researching prices
Hi Matt, thanks for all your videos, cd condition is super important, even the booklet, cd cases are more fragile than dvd cases so having cardboard around them helps. Cheers
28:19 I would admit that barcode scanning is more accurate with Amazon but again manual typing is better. Amazon even has a function where you can take a picture of the item where it scans through just a photo of the product
Another great Vid mate... I found those Multi Cd's a real winner too... have had a few odd ones and made huge profits on them in the past. One great one was a 10cd boxed set of 200 Juke Box Hits. The cardboard slipcase was a bit rough but the crystal cases and disks were in excellent condition. Picked up for $1 and sold for $70 plus post... The best part of this is the hunt!
I've done a few collections of cd's, which do well but take a bit of time to sell. A single cd from the stones, the one with the growling gorilla on it (GRRR!), is worth quite a bit and sells particularly well to Europe.
Really liking the long form videos. I've been listing Blu-ray movie bundles lately with around 30 titles and selling for around $60. CDs are a good category too with the bundles and box sets 👍 The bundles I treat like the cheaper video games and the box sets like DVD TV shows.
I started selling cds but only those released in the 1980’s but it was hard work going through the cds at the opp shop looking for just the 1980’s, I may go back to it at some stage.
I just picked up 1-13 of HEARTBEAT for $50 ($4~ per dvd is usually too high) Buuuut this is a BOLO series! It’s been listed for a few days and just received a $300.00 + shipping. 1. Would you take the $300? 2. Sell through rate is not too bad, so BOLO for your team. :)
I'm a sort of casual dvd seller, usually ones I find at my local thrift stores. I sometimes will lot together films by the same director, or films with the same actor. Does anyone else do this?
@@TheAussieFlipper There are a lot of collection titles that go really well like the Bernstein Collection you got. Some of that won't sell fast but you'll a good return when they sell. I do OK with Classical titles (there is plenty stuff that won't sell) . Original pressings of 80's and 90's bands can be desirable and some overseas pressings. DVD market is too narrow focus and too many sellers now. There is a learning curve with CD's like most people will say to steer clear of Classical. I've done smaller bulk lots (one band) and they can get good money too. I could go on but there's a lot to learn and some of it will be similar to selling DVD's.
The wrestler in the red cape looks a bit like Marc Mero , not sure about the one beside him. The figurine you took out of the box might be Roman Reigns or Tyler Reks??
Matty' How's our favorite people, nice to see you coming out from behind the camera Kate.? And how good is that CD category, considering the size and weight there are some high hitters out there that people just walk past.? I think you should get into Diecast and WW2 Models. I have a few sets of men's clothing that are up there $, which I believe you would like so I am throwing them in the car when we drop over tomorrow. Listening to you calculate the profit on your free postage model reminded me of why I stopped doing it 😅

agree, footing the bill for postage is just crazy, I get the same prices as people who offer free post

I do not do free shipping “postage” personally. Not worth it unless it’s an expensive item and the shipping would be cheap for me.

I always look for rock & metal and they are pretty simple to find, especially at garage sales and estate sales.
Crocodile Dundee 1 and 2 are cinematic gold! Priceless really.
Love you vids mate. I've been inspired to start selling, my niche atm is books, but I'm buying all sorts of goodies at mostly thrift stores.

I love selling media. I’m thinking of starting to sell media on Amazon, mainly books & CDs.
Just to correct you, that wrestling figure is not Marvel Elite Legend, complete different line.
That would be WWE Elite Collection
OMG!!!! … I am the biggest Doors fan you will ever met ❤ I can’t believe you have that WOW!!!
pretty cool hay!!!

A wealth of knowledge!
one of those 2 figures look like rick rude from the 80's
Looks like Mario is being held hostage 6:00 😂😂
The fastest Indian is a pretty good movie. Gotta Love Anthony Hopkins🎉
It's a very good movie

How do you do untracked
Thank you for the videos Matt and Kate and Perry
Do you guys do free shipping on all items? seems to be very common in AUS
i do!
The doors cd set i sold for $220 a few months ago, and sold within 2 days.. Insane
I skimmed through the video but didn't catch it...what's the new category that you're just going into?
CD’s
The title made me think there was a new category that eBay added. Clever.
Damn I didn't realise you had some Marvel Lego! I would have bought that too lol
Hi Matt , cd,s make up 20% if my sales on eBay , some rare ones out there , give them a go
That camilla brand always blows my mind, they're so expensive and they all look like they belong to someones nanna 😅😂
When you say “locking out” do you mean you’re excluding from the search what you locked? Or only seeing in your search what you locked?
The latter. Probably should be 'locking in' 😉
Locking in what you want to see :) good point
Sold the Babylon 5 DVDs for $46 plus post. Thanks matt.
Incredible Laura!! :D
Can I just say, if you find that Birthdays book, banger EVERY time.
and then heartstopper, book bangers, you're stepping on my territory!

In my experience you will find more profit in CD's than DVD's at this moment in time. There is a lot of trash to sift through though.
Oooo really!! Good to know!

Nice one!
Would like to know your butchers paper and bubble wrap technique! Just sent a board game out this arvo and probably could have used it!
I’ll have to show it next video
Not gonna lie. I only watch for Perry now. 😊 Just kidding but he's adorable.
How many total listings do you have now?
950
@TheAussieFlipper great job, thx
Matt his name is ultimate warrior not ninja warrior you goose lol
Finally I made it in the what sold lol 😂 only $18 but hey it's something. There's only 3 seasons of the Roswell tv show

red cape is Ravishing Rick Rude RIP
The wrestling figures the one in the sleeveless shirt Dean ambrose now know as Jon moxley. The one in the robe was I think ravishing rick rude
