Parts From UDSParts.com The Access door was easy to install and I will be using this option more often. Gives access to the Firebox, easy access to cooking on the bottom grate and takes the hassle out of cleaning out the bottom of the drum.

Nice! Curious, do you find the single 2 inch exhaust works better than multiple exhaust holes in the lid?
Scott, I used to use pinwheel dampers with 8 3/4 holes. But now I only use the single exhaust, I really like the simplicity of the 2 inch exhaust and keeping the smoke as far off the lid as possibly.

Apex drums in Los angels you can buy a drum with lid already sand blasted around $100
Drums like to run hot and can get dirty smoke easy, I’m adding a door to mine soon
did you mention what you have installed in the 1 inch bung hole? Now I want to modify mine with an access door. Great video.

What model gasket goes in between the door and the basket
George Nettles Jr ...I got the door from UDSparts.com they sell the gaskets on their website ., High Temp gaskets and high temp silicone that is usda and FDA food certified safe

however, I just picked up a dozen or so Smooth sided drums. I’m in Spring at the end of the Hardy toll road area . I’ll sell you one cheaper than you can buy in Conroe .

I drill a 1-1/2 inch hole for each intake
.. 2 inches for exhaust

Yes Sir. They do sell the door. And I love it. It eas my first door install, I believe every uds should have one.
