Issue is bullets drop more in game than in real life, the not so noticeable arc of 556 in real life is much more pronounced in game so it's just easier for the C79 to be the same as literally every other non Marksman scope

When I first read your comment I my immediate thought was that there's no way an IR dazzler could possibly work on a wire guided missile and was about to correct you, but just to be sure I googled it and as it turns out, they actually do work, since they confuse the computer that keeps track of where the missile is, rather than confusing the missile itself like one might first assume. You learn more every day. The question is of course which variant of the tow we actually have in the game. The Shtora-1 dazzlers have been demonstrated to work on all variants before the BGM-71D, but not on subsequent variants, as the D variant came with an upgraded guidance system that was hardened against IR interference. The in game name simply says "BGM-71 TOW" which might suggest it's a variant before the D, since those variants are usually referred to as "TOW 2" but the penetration value disputes this, as 900mm of pen was only achieved with the warhead upgrade that also came with the D variant. All this is to say, the Tows we have in the game are probably a version with the hardened guidance system, which the Shtora is not able to defeat, but I can't be 100% sure of that.
I think it would be good if in the future, RGF's armour battalions get T-80s. T-90s are perfect for light infantry, combined arms and motorised though.
The ak74 has a blind spot when lying down looking upwards. And looking while standing someone could be lying down to the right and be hidden behind the players animated ak74. Its a slight advantage left hand players might have. 🤔 So you would always have to peek from the right side of a building
As a pilot, if there’s gonna be more anti air stuff, we better get some counter measures too. Or better yet, different types of helis. Like Uh-60M, the Blackhawk with rocket pods or the MI-24/25 Hind.
The helo change sucks. Was playing manicougan invasion, and it took 45 minutes for our first helo to spawn, which just led us to lose the first 2 points, with no ways to prevent it.
Another big thing nobody said in the mod “Global escalation” which is now called “super mod tactical” I think in GE you could put IEDs on a buddy and be a bomber well you can’t do that anymore sadly
I'm not thrilled about the US getting a mobile mortar. At least if they get it, Russia/China should probably get the grad or something so both factions have mobile artillery

If I had to guess they want to keep the Grad a unique feature of Militia, and they certainly aren't adding the TOS 1, mortar carriers are the approach that imo works best anyways. Admittedly the problem there is that Russia does not use motar carriers like most of the world/the US one, though the VDV could very well get the Nona. All they have is the Tyulpan, and I mean, lol. My personal suggestion would be to give Russian support unit a buildable 120mm mortar. But to be honest I would prefer all conventional support units getting 120 mm mortars instead of the standard ones, since they are very common. Russia getting it first though would be reasonable.

Also for those who downloaded the testing branch, are the russian gun fired ATGM's work like they do in real life, eg the missile will ride flat if targetting something at around 800 meters and it will fly up and then come down at above 800 meters for terrain avoidance?

I'm pretty sure the AGL is used for indirect fire more than as a backup for the 30mm. Not that you can't use it as a backup, but dumping grenades from 800m away onto an objective would be devastating.
I wonder, what about the PMC faction, it wasn't mentioned in the patch notes so I doubt they'll add it to the game along with 8.0, maybe later? But I really hope they do

What do you mean? Talil has like, 10 trees on it. Tons of maps in the mountains of Afghanistan (or similar terrain). Narva and Fallujah for entirely urban maps or Al Bashra for a mix of urban and desert. Even the forests are varried. Harju plays nothing like Yerovikha. I do really like PR maps though, it be neat if the devs add some (like the Gaza map) directly into the game.
Hmmmm.... I'm not sure a helmet would help. Imagine if the helmet could actually resist being crushed but then you still gotta hold it up so you turn into a pancake inside your helmet.

Maybe, but if you want vehicle combat then war thunder is a better option than squad. Its a neat idea, but I think squad should stick to what it is and not try to be war thunder because without a vehicle overhaul war thunder is hands down the best way to go if you want exclusive armor gameplay.

In real life it only confuses laser guided atgm’s so when it’s added and the dazzlers are functional it can only really defeat its own atgm the kornet because the tow is wire guided
@@chebb3699this is incorrect. The wire is for guidance, but the fire control needs to see the IR light on the back of the missile in order to know where the missile is. The IRCM block the firing control system from knowing where the missile is, so it can't accurately give the correct targeting info through the wire.
The pacthes look really good, but we need an optimization patch. I have a intel 11th gen i 5 12600kf RTX 3060 and 16 gb ram but I only get 60 fps hardly. They really should make some changes to that if they want some of their players back. That really was a reason for me with stop playing the squad.
Man every time I think Squad is starting to get a bit stale, they release solid changes like this. Most of my wish list rebalancing item is at least partially included along with other things I didn't think they would attempt anytime soon like more widespread auto grenade launchers.
Frankly, you need that HAT in the armor battalions. The Turkish tank is hot garbage and will lose in a fair fight (it is still a tank so using it like t62 is effective of course). But most of the time when I play turkey our armor is taken out in the first 10-20 minutes and the enemy tanks basically have free reign.
I play a lot of armor as well... Faster resetting is nice for sure, but I would prefer it if the Leo didn't front flip while driving down a straight road with no obstacles (happened to me, I think an ant was crossing the street)

when will there be a refresh to the British faction? They've had minor additions since release and still use old equipment and the player models use kit that hasnt been used by the Brits since mid-Afghanistan. Needs a rework big time.
All the factions are mostly based around the Afghanistan/90s Iraq period. America doesn't get M4A1s with most of their kits even though pretty much all us army units have that as standard issue.
Armored variants have been OP for too long, so I'm hopeful that this will provide balance to the game to make other variants more interesting to play. Instead of insta win if the other faction doesn't have equivalent armor.

No, for now its just an up-armoured T72, but they said it will receive changes in the future. Admittedly the shtora is very obsolete at actually jamming atgms so them adding that as a feature would rightfully upset people. But knowing as soon as an atgm is looking at you from the laser warning, and having the turret be able to auto face where it's coming from (both additional features of the T90) would be great.
It is basically a T-72 with a welded turret. I wish armored Russian divisions were given T-80U/UK as a more advanced and superior tank with higher mobility
Sure but let's be real, if an atgm hits a tank the tank should be disabled. I think it's kinda silly how the tank can be hit by atgm right where the driver is sitting and he's completely fine/tank is fully operational if a lil (lot) damaged. I understand squad isn't a realist sim game but a tactical shooter but it's still silly.

It was really silly too though how for the past few years playing armour on any map that had long sightlines was basically a game of sudden death cause there was 3-4 atgms at all times just one-tapping even the heaviest vehicles cause they're able snipe those small weakspots like the driver ports you mention.

@@RustyBear First off the Berezhok upgrade is very much not rare prototype material, its a pretty simple upgrade at the end of the day, and one that was carried out to several hundred BMP2s over the last several years, not to mention included for all new BMP2s being made. Secondly, the base BMP2 is not being removed, the one in the RGF Combined Arms unit will remain.
I dont know if im alone in this but im so sick of every patch changing systems and weapons constantly. Im all for rolling back ico but can it be done all at once instead of in annoying increments. Has anything been done to fix the horrible performance? I accept that im on outdated hardware here but when i bought the game in 2019 my fps was stable at 80-90 fps on medium to high settings, rarely dropped down below 55 fps during air strikes on a full server for years. A couple months ago my fps were running at 40 fps when i was on a full server but away from any action with every setting set to eighter low or off. Am i missing some setting i need to fix or reset other than clearing cache or is the game just like this now? I have sunken 935 hours into the game

I had major FPS issues but after rolling back my Graphics drivers to an older version I gained 20fps - and thats on a 4070ti

T90a has thicker frontal and side armor in update
T90A has better turret armour in real life, also driver`s hatch area is protected by Kontakt-5 ERA, so frontal armour of T90 is not the same

The BMP-2M is such a dreadnought in terms of IFV firepower, you had 40mm left if your 30mm ran out

What do you mean? Talil has like, 10 trees on it. Tons of maps in the mountains of Afghanistan (or similar terrain). Narva and Fallujah for entirely urban maps or Al Bashra for a mix of urban and desert. Even the forests are varried. Harju plays nothing like Yerovikha. I do really like PR maps though, it be neat if the devs add some (like the Gaza map) directly into the game.

Maybe, but if you want vehicle combat then war thunder is a better option than squad. Its a neat idea, but I think squad should stick to what it is and not try to be war thunder because without a vehicle overhaul war thunder is hands down the best way to go if you want exclusive armor gameplay.
Maybe WoT if you want to keep the team dynamics, I prefer WT but WoT has a better player base when it comes to people working together

In real life it only confuses laser guided atgm’s so when it’s added and the dazzlers are functional it can only really defeat its own atgm the kornet because the tow is wire guided
@@chebb3699this is incorrect. The wire is for guidance, but the fire control needs to see the IR light on the back of the missile in order to know where the missile is. The IRCM block the firing control system from knowing where the missile is, so it can't accurately give the correct targeting info through the wire.
TOW is wire-guided, not much way to jam it
The pacthes look really good, but we need an optimization patch. I have a intel 11th gen i 5 12600kf RTX 3060 and 16 gb ram but I only get 60 fps hardly. They really should make some changes to that if they want some of their players back. That really was a reason for me with stop playing the squad.
I hope they don't do another rework like the one in Squad in War Thunder. ATGMs in War Thunder require a lot of skill and patience to use them.

Man every time I think Squad is starting to get a bit stale, they release solid changes like this. Most of my wish list rebalancing item is at least partially included along with other things I didn't think they would attempt anytime soon like more widespread auto grenade launchers.

Frankly, you need that HAT in the armor battalions. The Turkish tank is hot garbage and will lose in a fair fight (it is still a tank so using it like t62 is effective of course). But most of the time when I play turkey our armor is taken out in the first 10-20 minutes and the enemy tanks basically have free reign.

I play a lot of armor as well... Faster resetting is nice for sure, but I would prefer it if the Leo didn't front flip while driving down a straight road with no obstacles (happened to me, I think an ant was crossing the street)
@@jacobantaya7423 oh dude tell me about it. I’ve complained many times about driving an Abram’s, hitting a pebble then flipping 100 feet in the air lol or having no torque to drive up a hill in vehicles made to do so coming from experience.

when will there be a refresh to the British faction? They've had minor additions since release and still use old equipment and the player models use kit that hasnt been used by the Brits since mid-Afghanistan. Needs a rework big time.
All the factions are mostly based around the Afghanistan/90s Iraq period. America doesn't get M4A1s with most of their kits even though pretty much all us army units have that as standard issue.
I have been playing a lot of arms reforged the fact you can never see where ur getting shot at in this game pushed me to that game lol
Seeing people in general and where you are being shot from is the Squad equivalent of getting your 'sea legs'. It'll start to come to you.

Armored variants have been OP for too long, so I'm hopeful that this will provide balance to the game to make other variants more interesting to play. Instead of insta win if the other faction doesn't have equivalent armor.

Any idea if the shtora dazzlers on the t-90A will do anything to IR wire guided atgms as they do IRL?
No, for now its just an up-armoured T72, but they said it will receive changes in the future. Admittedly the shtora is very obsolete at actually jamming atgms so them adding that as a feature would rightfully upset people. But knowing as soon as an atgm is looking at you from the laser warning, and having the turret be able to auto face where it's coming from (both additional features of the T90) would be great.

It is basically a T-72 with a welded turret. I wish armored Russian divisions were given T-80U/UK as a more advanced and superior tank with higher mobility

Sure but let's be real, if an atgm hits a tank the tank should be disabled. I think it's kinda silly how the tank can be hit by atgm right where the driver is sitting and he's completely fine/tank is fully operational if a lil (lot) damaged. I understand squad isn't a realist sim game but a tactical shooter but it's still silly.

It was really silly too though how for the past few years playing armour on any map that had long sightlines was basically a game of sudden death cause there was 3-4 atgms at all times just one-tapping even the heaviest vehicles cause they're able snipe those small weakspots like the driver ports you mention.

@@RustyBear They didn't. The 2M and BMP-3M are coming only for two units, and the BMP-1AM comes for a third.
@@RustyBear First off the Berezhok upgrade is very much not rare prototype material, its a pretty simple upgrade at the end of the day, and one that was carried out to several hundred BMP2s over the last several years, not to mention included for all new BMP2s being made. Secondly, the base BMP2 is not being removed, the one in the RGF Combined Arms unit will remain.
I dont know if im alone in this but im so sick of every patch changing systems and weapons constantly. Im all for rolling back ico but can it be done all at once instead of in annoying increments. It was like a whole year that every patch changed weapon sounds and now its weapon handling constantly changing. If they wanna keep changing all balancing atleast start calling it beta again.

Has anything been done to fix the horrible performance? I accept that im on outdated hardware here but when i bought the game in 2019 my fps was stable at 80-90 fps on medium to high settings, rarely dropped down below 55 fps during air strikes on a full server for years. A couple months ago my fps were running at 40 fps when i was on a full server but away from any action with every setting set to eighter low or off. Am i missing some setting i need to fix or reset other than clearing cache or is the game just like this now? I have sunken 935 hours into the game
