Amazing. I was just about to slap on the fabric and staple everything together like other DIYs of this chair + style but you have inspired me to do this properly. Thank you! I agree with another commenter, meticulous and extremely well done!
Very good job. Love watching you work. I can tell you're a perfectionist, and that was a great choice of workable fabric. Only thing missing, is the bottom lining for the chair. That can easily be cut out and stapled or tacked. Keep up the good work!
I love this video and am ready to get started on recovering my two tub chairs... not Ikea but very similar. I would love to see the video on the box cushion recovering, when you have the chance. I have never seen bulldog clips used instead of pins and I love the idea! No more pricking of my finger! Thank you!
This is another level! Best video I've seen. This is a well done, professional job! Thanks so much for sharing, I was going just going to staple the fabric on like in other videos, but now I am going to do it properly. Thanks for shiaring your know how!!!!
Your video is so informative and I now have no doubt that I will recover my 2 chairs that my cats used as scratching posts when they were little. For some reason they didn't damage my couch fabric so I just need to find out what the fabric is. Great job!!
Love this!! I watched another tutorial but it was too chaotic for me haha this is great! I'd love it if you could make a video on how to make the cushion (or entire chair) thicker. I'd love to make it more dramatic... My dream chair is the Giulia Chair from NV Gallery
Thank you for a great presentation tutorial so well delivered. How did you finish the (bottom) underneath the seat?? Could you please show us how you sewed in the zipper.🥰👍👍
@@shola7987 try eBay or AliExpress type Sherpa fabric or lambs wool fabric or just type stretchy. boucle fabric . I got mine really cheap and amazing quality
You did exzellent work and the results Look nice. Newly finished. Unfortunately, I think a chair with this kind of surface and color will look bad really soon. Different colored lint and dirt and dust will get caught in the loops and slings and knots of the fabric and you won't be able to get it out. The friction from body weight and clothes on it, will destroy the surface. I don't think it makes good chair material, if the vhair is actually being used and not just decoration.
Thank you for this! I know its been a couple years but do you recall how much fabric was needed? I just read that they are no longer making these and I have 2 I'd like to reupholster!
wow......seems all the people here are professional with sewing machine, I'm not good at sewing machine, may I ask how do you do the sewing, along the line of the bulldog clips? And during the whole process of sewing, all the bulldog clips are staying in there, and not touching the sewing foot or rolling with needle, please......? Thanks.
Oh WOW! This looks AMAZING 😍. What a fantastic and beautiful job you did. Your work is impeccable ❤️ this has really inspired me to try my hand at this. Just a question though is there a particular fabric that you think would be the easiest? Material with a slight stretch as opposed to something with no stretch? What do you think would be best for an amateur like myself?
After watching your video, this seems like a less daunting task than I had imagined. And I will try reupholstering my Ikea chair. I have a couple of questions. How much fabric did you purchase? and how do you calculate how much is needed?
Absolutely Love, I've been searching high and low for a boulce tub chair cover without success! I don't suppose you would consider making and selling? 🙏🏼😃
Hi Charlie! Thank you so much for this video. I have exactly the same tub chair and plan to use boucle fabric to upholster it the same way you did. How much fabric did you buy for this? How many yards exactly? I haven’t bought my fabric yet but don’t want to under buy. Many thanks in advance.
Wow!! Amazing job! And just seeing the true material of the chair just shows why Ikea's quality is the way it is.
Amazing. I was just about to slap on the fabric and staple everything together like other DIYs of this chair + style but you have inspired me to do this properly. Thank you! I agree with another commenter, meticulous and extremely well done!
Me too! He's done a great job!

Lovely chair. And please do make the box cushion video.
Thank you, it's really helpful
Amazing. Bringing RUclips back to it's roots
You did an amazing job😍👏🏿 can I ask where you got your Boucle fabric from?
Im seeing some on Etsy for $45 a yard 🙁 could probably find something cheaper in the local fabric store or joann's with coupons.
Fabrics galore 😊
Great job; I did exactly the same thing with an IKEA armchair. You need to make a nice "Ball" cushion using your left over fabric to finish it off.
