  • After my long transfer from Bulgaria to Amsterdam I finally arrived at my accommodation. I am super excited to show you around. Of course, the fact that I did not sleep for around 24 hours shows in the video, so.. Sorry for my appearance! Enjoy watching ^_^
    PS: Cost of accommodation: 600 euros.

    Hey Anita,
    Thanks for sharing all this, really helpful!
    1. Can you please share some tips
    on submitting the housing application form on time once the portal opens?
    2. Since the application is on first come first serve basis I wanted to find out the details of the application procedure, how long does it take to submit the application and make the payment?
    3. Also, how long did it take for you to submit the application?

    • @anitadangova1969
      @anitadangova1969  3 года назад +1

      Heyya,
      Thank you for the kind words.
      Regarding the first question, I would suggest that you enter the portal an hour/half an hour before it opens. You are put in a queue once you enter. I entered around half an hour before the application time and I was around the 1000th person in the queue. I still got accommodation, but it was a bit stressful to wait.
      2. It does not take too long, perhaps around 5 minutes. You just need to tick some boxes, regarding the type of accommodation that you want to live in, and also the price range. Once you have done that, you will start receiving offers for accommodation. I am not sure about the payment as they might have changed the procedure. I remember paying a deposit at the time, but you will be notified by the uni in this respect.
      3. As mentioned above, it took me around 5 mins. But I had researched the types/cost of the accommodation offered by the uni, and I knew what I was going for. For costs and room types, you can check this link -> www.uva.nl/en/education/practical-information/housing/housing.html
      Let me know if you have more questions :)).

      Hi Anita. Thank you for your answers. I just had a few more follow-up questions.
      1. I received access to the application form recently. It does not show any queue number yet. Will it show my queue number on the day the application opens? How did you know what was your queue number?
      2. You said you had to wait before submitting -- can't you just submit as soon as the application opens for submission?
      3. Does the application get submitted when I press the "submit" button OR after paying the application fee?

    • @anitadangova1969
      @anitadangova1969  3 года назад

      @@rayyankamal2540 Hi again,
      1. The access to the application, at least last year, opened on a specific date and time. The queue number appeared once I logged in the system and tried to apply. But I think you can only login around that specific date/time (not a week in advance, for example). That is when you get your queue number, it appears on your screen. So, my suggestion was that you login half an hour/an hour before the official application portal opens on the indicated date and time.
      2. You wait, because not everyone can submit at the same time. The accommodation works on a first-come-first-serve basis. So it is important for the university to see who has been first, second, etc.
      3. I cannot remember for sure what we did. I think if there is an application fee, you have to pay it before you are actually able to submit your application. I would suggest that you contact the digital student service desk here: student.uva.nl/en/contact/digital-student-service-desk/digital-student-service-desk.html. Just press "ask your question without login," and then proceed. Also, you can WatsApp them here (very quick in responding): +31 (0)6 4834 7669. Or call them here: + 31 (0)20 525 1401.

      Здравей. Общежитията са същите, но когато кандидатстваш трябва да отбележиш типа на общежитие, в което искаш да живееш. В моя случай аз избрах студио (посочих и ценовия диапазон), така че ми предложиха това. Мисля, че няма значение за колко време си там. Може например да се сключи едномесечен договор за общежитие.

      Привет! Попринцип трябва да кандидатстваш за студентско общежитие към университета и тогава те ти изпращат оферта за дадено жилище според твоите изисквания. Когато кандидатстваш в апликационната форма има въпрос дали ще ти трябва общежитие. Отговаряш с да, и когато те приематбв самия университет получаваш по-нататък и инструкции как да кандидатстваш за общежитието (към Май месец). Иначе за специалността не знам много и, за жалост, не мога да съм от полза. Ако имаш въпроси нататък ще се радвам да помогна.

This choice is to be made in December, so you will be told more about the procedure by the relevant professors. The overall workload for the course depends on the subjects that you choose. There are six blocks- three for each semester. The workload for each block can vary. I would suggest that you check the course catalogue, where you can see the available subjects for the course, and the relevant block during which these subjects are studied. You will also note the assessment methods for each course. I hope this information is helpful 😊.
