Hi! Thanks for all the info and all the time and effort you've put in to educate us dweebs, but I had a few questions. If I study for a Bachelors in data science, will I be able to find work? Did you finish a masters before working or did you find work immediately after the 3-year program? The reason I'm asking this is that I cannot afford to do a masters immediately after my bachelors, I just don't have that kind of money so I'd like to work for a few years before doing one.
Hi! Thank you! It really depends on where you're looking to work and what's available. Personally, I actually quit my data science master as I got an internship and then job offer in my first year and didn't see the point of continuing the degree, but that is of course a more unique situation maybe and I'm not saying that will work for everyone. A lot of people in the Netherlands find it normal to also get a master right after their bachelor, and a lot of jobs might ask for that; but there are always exceptions. There is definitely a interest on a student loan it’s about 1% or more. Second a study loan is for a maximum of 7 years. Third: if you where born here in the Netherlands it is not so nice to have a student loan. If you graduated before 2018 your study loan is converted to a scholarship except for the college intuition loan. BUT if you started before 2018 but finished after 2018: ALL will be or stay as a loan WITH interest. BUT then 2022 the government acknowledges that the study loan system that replaced the scholarship system in 2018 is not efficient. So they changed it back to a system of scholarschip starting from school year 2023/24. AND those who where forced to take a loan with interest receive a compensation of €1000. Yess only 1 thousand and you won’t receive cash, no it will be offset against your dept. Basically if you studied in the Netherlands between 2017-2021/22 or currently studying: YOU are F**D in the A’!
I need clarification, Im bilingual I can fairly understand English but can I still study in the Netherlands without a language barrier if I dont know dutch?
The main problem I encounter regarding international students is how few most of them know and how little most of them care about the country they are studying in. I did not want to study in English, but I am Dutch and no Dutch university teaches in Dutch at the moment, so I have to study in English even though it makes me feel a foreigner in my own country, but it would be so much better if the people I encounter would just read the wikipedia page of the Netherlands. You would still have people unable to ride a bike (which is confusing), the 40% foreign students still does not speak Dutch, there will still be people drowning because they do not know you can't just safely cross rivers by swimming, but it might stop Indian rich kids from lecturing me about poor people and people having ridiculous ideas like they would be deported because a right wing party won an election. I mean we are a democratic country with a history, a culture, people with different views, etc. and I am also a human being trying to find a way through the system. Maybe someone does not understand the middle class also studies, but if they would ask why someone has a different oppinion, one could understand each other. Instead of that, I now get yelled at, redicualised or insulted. Maybe someone is concerned what a political change would mean for them, but they could just ask a fellow student, or just watch some English newsoutlet instead of making up rediculous things. (Be careful, American media tends to be extream it be to the right or to the left.) For instance in this case, the whole deportation thing was in no party program. When I asked someone about the way the university counsil campaines worked, I now had to argue with someone who thought that nonsens were true. I do get that people just doing a 2 year master do not learn Dutch, but it would be very helpfull for yourself to know some very basic words (hallo, tot ziens ect.) and would also be polite because it fulfills something of the Dutch custom to learn the lamguage of them of whom you want something. (Which is why had to learn English, German and French in school...) At least just don't say my language is inferior to English, don't ridicule me for mistakes and don't complain if I try to search in German after English and Dutch failed to give any results. And the ridiculous things I summed up were real things I encountered.
am i going to need the ielts degree even if i've already taken a course in english in italy as a foreign student!? (i'm studying data analysis in english) i took the test 3 years ago
Hi Iulia! I'm in desperate need of help! I got accepted to UvA for my bachelor's program and I am confused as to how I apply for a tuition fees loan. The one you talked about in the video. I'm going to have to take it as I am on my own in the Netherlands, without my parents' financial support, and I already have a million other things to think about. I just don't understand how I should apply! I need a citizen service number (the infamous BSN?) to apply for a DigiD, but that's for student finance. Is it the same thing? Just a different name? I'm not going to be able to be in the Netherlands until August when I will permanently move, so I can't get that just yet and therefore cannot apply for the loan, but I also need to apply for the loan, otherwise I can't go to begin with. I'm just afraid that if I don't do it on time and like I apply when the course already started, I'm not going to get my tuition fee money back which would be a huge issue. Do you have a video about it? Or can you just briefly walk me through the steps? I am clearly desperate here, and it's only May. I swear this whole process is gonna be the death of me.

Hey im sorry for asking but how long did you wait for the offer letter from the UNI? I applied as an international student and currently anxiously waiting for the email. Thanks in advance
If you already have organized your place of stay I advise to arrive one week before the introduction program starts, so you have time to visit IKEA if your room is unfurnished, buy a second-hand bike to move around, get your BSN, find out the nearest supermarkets (Aldi and Lidl are the cheapest, but Albert Heijn has a bigger choice), etcetera. If you don't have a place to stay get here at least a month earlier. Because of the housing shortage here all universities urge students to find a place to stay BEFORE arriving here.
The process is pretty much the same you just have an earlier application deadline and higher tuition fees. And after you finish uni you have a certain amount of time to find a job for your visa to still be ok I think. Look on the university website you want to apply to and they always have the info for both EU and not EU.
Hey nice video, btw I am confused about how one gets hold off insurance, travelling cards and rental bikes? is it through university? Or any outisde source?

Hi dear. I am interested in computer science. I heard that applied science university have lower grade than normal university as it is not possible to do for example masters easily. Is it true? And how long is the pre master?
Applied science universities (in Dutch: Hogescholen or HBO's) may only issue Bachelor Degrees. However, some HBO's have agreements with a nearby university that allows them to issue Master degrees as well. Pre-masters vary from 6 months to one year.

Hi! There's a lot of self study materials online as well I think it's definitely possible if you're motivated. Really depends on the company though if they are looking for an actual degree or just certificates you got online or a portfolio of projects you worked on.
You are nice and beautyfull........💖💖 Are there any scholarship programs we can apply for?And I want to know how to apply for the scholarship..do you have any details..?
We have certain studies that are called 'numerus fixus' where there is a process usually containing a test and sometimes a letter of motivation. Usually they make a weighted grade average of your test result and your high school marks. All those grades are ranked highest to lowest and the, for example, the first 300 students get in

If you don't have a place to stay get here at least a month earlier. Because of the housing shortage here all universities urge students to find a place to stay BEFORE arriving here.
This vid is so educative. Thanks. But I'm not an EU resident and I'm assuming things are way more difficult right?
The process is pretty much the same you just have an earlier application deadline and higher tuition fees. And after you finish uni you have a certain amount of time to find a job for your visa to still be ok I think. Look on the university website you want to apply to and they always have the info for both EU and not EU.
Not more difficult, just a lot more expensive.

As a non eu citizen international student whos applying for unis, can we also benefit from the government loan?

You are nice and beautyfull........💖💖 Are there any scholarship programs we can apply for?And I want to know how to apply for the scholarship..do you have any details..?
hello I just wanna ask if they care about marks or they ask for high marks to be accepted ?
We have certain studies that are called 'numerus fixus' where there is a process usually containing a test and sometimes a letter of motivation. Usually they make a weighted grade average of your test result and your high school marks. All those grades are ranked highest to lowest and the, for example, the first 300 students get in
Depends on the studies. Numerus Fixus studies usually do.
Haha what? Choose which school level you want? You wished that was true. You get assigned one
