I have the 10 inch version of this saw and absolutely love it! When I have dust collection hooked up there is almost no dust. It will perform enormous crosscuts by using precut 2x's to bring the cutting surface up enough to clear the fence. I work in half of a 2 car garage and the space saving of the "robo arms" really comes in handy. I put both cars in the garage every night, and this saw makes it possible. The space behind the saw required by a normal sliding miter was a non-starter for me. I of course replaced the stock blade with an 80 tooth Diablo and all my cuts come out feeling smooth as butter. If anyone is looking for a 12 inch sliding miter I would definitely consider the 10 inch Delta (or Ridgid) instead. This saw will do the work of almost any 12 inch out there, costs less and takes up less space. Awesome channel, by the way, keep up the good word. Really appreciate the Christian message too!
The dust collection problem is an easy fix!! Take off their dust deflection just behind the blade. There are a couple of T25 screws holding it on. After I took that off there is almost no dust forward of the fence!
Thanks for the update Matt! I actually bought this saw after selling my Dewalt 779 and then returned it a few weeks later due to the dust issue. I couldn’t believe how much dust I was eating! That was with a 100 tooth Diablo and dust collection hooked up. I loved the space saving design, but the dust explosions and blade deflection was a deal breaker for my kind of work. Overall though I really appreciated your unboxing video and review. I’m glad it’s working out for you!
I bought this saw after your review and absolutely love it. I’m working on the same dust issue. As for the fence slide out, I just unscrew the blue twist nuts in the back and they slide out very easy. Then lay down a sacrificial 2x6 and you can make like 18 inches cuts. Keep it up Matt. Good work 👊
One thing about those Diablo blades, is that the powder coating allows the sawblade to slip under the tension bolt. On my 7 1/4” 1985 vintage porter cable, I actually sanded or ground off that red paint around the locking bolt surface of the blade to stop the blade from slipping.
Thanks so much for sharing your feedback. I was considering this saw but the dust extraction issue is a deal breaker for me. Thanks again for saving me time and hassle of finding that out the hard way.
I've been using this saw for over a year, the slide still impresses me every time I use it. I love this saw, I agree with to the dust issue though. I took the dust shield off and it helped a little.
Fun video! I'm a tool nerd and I love the looks of that saw. I Nervously purchased the Kobalt 10" Dual Bevel slider because it was on sale a few months ago for $219 and, wow. Square out of the box. Stock blade cuts smooth. Dust collection is really good, much better than my old one - just use a mini vac hanging on the wall behind it. Has a laser that really helps me line up my cuts and adjust easily. And oh, I love the color blue so, it's Kobalt blue to go along with all my other Kobalt tools in my little shop. Blade change will be a tad more difficult than my old saw but, other than that, I am so pleased!
Being a review video I started not to watch it. But I still learned something. I stand off to the side and I think pushing on it is making my saw cut woppyjawed. Great smoooooth video
I have a Bosch and I put a Dust Cover over my saw to catch the dust and it helps a lot. I got the Rosseau 9000 and hooked it up to my shop vac. Works great.
Good review ...agreed about the dust collection. I put a shroud made from tool chest liner, glued it onto the factory shroud and stiffened the back with cardboard...it helps for most wood but less helpful with mdf
Thanks for the review. I have been on the fence deciding on a miter saw that fits my needs. Just came back from Menards with my brand new Delta Cruzer 26-2251. I set it up and it is true right out of the box. It really is super smooth. Keep up the great work. Phil.4-13
Hey Matt. I remember when you first got this saw. I was very impressed, but after reviewing many other dual bevel sliding miter saws, I went with the Hercules dual compound sliding miter saw. The only thing that it doesn't have is the accordion slider. Other than that, the dust collection is great, there really isn't much play at all left to right. AND! The price. About half the price of a Dewalt, bosch and cruzer. Harbor Freight really knocked it out of the park with this. Thank you for your videos.
I'm glad you get yourself a dust mask. My uncle was a woodworker for years and now he can barely breathe. 20 years ago they didn't know its so dangerous. Stay safe!
I completely agree with your review. One of the things I did to improve the dust collection (just a little bit) was by removing the splines in the hose connection. This stopped the sawdust from plugging up the connection. I also added a piece of 2" tape to the back of the rubber deflector to make it more ridgid. Again, minor improvements but ultimately a shroud will most likely be needed.
Yes, like a Fastcap or Rousseau dust hood and the vacuum hose connected to the bottom of the dust hood. With an auto start on the vacuum and the dust hood that should take care of 99% of the dust, even the super fine dust.
Just an FYI. Home Depot has the 10” Ridgid R4241 on sale for $219.00 (49% off!!!) during their Spring Black Friday sale. You have to be diligent because the stores seem to only get one at a time but I signed up to get emailed when my store got it in stock. Got my email last night. Showed up at 6am the next morning when they opened. Sure enough, they had just one, and it’s mine!! The basic RYOBI 10” Miter Saw is $179. For $40 more I just nabbed a heck of a deal! Very excited!!
I've had the Bosch 12" Glide Compound MIter Saw for 5 years now and apart from the dust collection I love it. Gotta say that the deflection with the Bosch is minimal compared to what I observed in this video. Fun fact: the Bosch Glide is so friction free that contractor were complaining it was TOO smooth since they were used to other chop saws with rails that were worn and caused more friction. So Bosch added the ability to tighen a bolt to add more friction for those that wanted it ha ha
My Bosch 12" is garbage. Consistently cuts banana-shaped cuts whether I cut front to back or back to front, and burns the wood, no matter how gentle I am with it. Been round and round with Bosch support.
For the dust collection of this saw I improved it two ways. 1) Enlarge the dust collection "flap" area by attaching some rubber craft foam. You can simply use double stick tape to attach it and form a slight U shape there. 2) Whenever making a cut. Extend the saw so you are starting the cut as far forward on the material as possible and the plunge the saw. This simple technique change will help the collection more than I thought it should :) I dont have but a small shop vac on it and it works 20 times better than what you are showing there. Also at the beginning when you don't have dust collection hooked up, it sure looks like the shoot there could be partially clogged also leading to more and more stuff being shot out as its deflecting off the clog.
I received the same saw from my wife for Christmas and I agree it is “butter smooth”! I love the saw yet I will need to make a solution for the dust issue.
Bosch Invented this design /style of saw 15yrs ago and its still hard to beat. Good job though for the new folks that own Delta now. It looks like they did a pretty nice job with theirs. I wonder how long the belt drive lasts? (I doubt its a chain drive) I would have to get an extra belt, Its my luck it would fail in the middle of a project.
I've been really happy with my Dewalt 12 inch sliding saw. Especially with the shadow line. I was never a fan of Lazer lines and always just brought the blade to my cut line. To me this was the most accurate way. That was until I used the Dewalt shadow line! It has spoiled me! Lol! My Dewalt has always been extremely accurate for me as well.
I finally just picked this up as an upgrade from my old Hitachi 10". I need something more accurate and with more capacity. I started looking and prices were kind of trash both on this and the Rigid. Then found it at Menards for $399 and $355 after their rebate. The 10" is $100 cheaper even. Excellent deal.
I got my 10" Cruzer a couple of years ago when they were less than $300, now the prices have more than doubled on both the 10 & 12. Amazing quality for the buck.
New company , new saws! Its good to be first sometimes, but it could have easily been a bad product. I'm glad it wasn't and folks like you got one cheap.
I just picked up the Ridgid version of this saw, from all the RUclips videos and comments I was worried about the dust collection. I found that the dust collection worked fine, tested it all the way up to 12/4 cherry, with nominal dust. Maybe as someone commented, it helps to extend the saw all the way forward and then plunge for the cut, something about blade geometry?
My old black and decker miter saw had a bearing going out year before last and my wife bought me a new kobalt 10" slider for fathers day. It works great, but lack alot in the accuracy dept. I adjusted it several times, but each time I tightened down the fences screws it would be off. Theres just to much slop in the manufacturing. It's good enough for framing work, but not furniture. Luckily I still have my radial arm saw for my finer work. I'd love to have the delta just for its accuracy and means of sliding. It's much better than the tube rail design.. all my work benches are 2ft deep and 8ft long because of the convenience of using half sheets of plywood for the tops. The conventional style miter saw forces me to leave the bench about 10" away from the wall. Glad you like it Matt.
I run the Bosch at work, I've cut things you shouldn't cut with a saw of that price but it's eaten through it all and to this day it's still smooth as ice. I cant remember when that saw came out but I know I got it shortly afterwards. The only thing done to it for servicing was a cord replacement and bearings replaced
I have no doubt that Delta Cruz is a terrific saw. If I may offer accolades on the Harbor Freight Hercules saw. I’m in the shop every day. I’m an addict. The Hercules was super precise out the box. I didn’t have to make a single adjustment. Even the blade that comes with it, is decent. I would still recommend something a little finer (I’m a saw blade snob). The negatives, it does have the extension arms and a large footprint. Additionally, the dust collection is absolutely horrendous. I bet the Cruz is better. Thank you team 731 for continuing to share your experience. Psalm 27
I have the same saw and love it. The 18" capacity you mentioned is there, but I think you missed it. It's pretty plainly stated in the instruction manual. Remove the blue fence locking knobs and top fences from each side. Rotate the small stops around that are on top of the bottom fence (they are near each blue knob is/was). Put in a sacrificial piece of wood in the table and you can now cut a 2 x 18. They even have a recess in the semi-circular part of the fence to accommodate a 2 x 18. Another cool feature is that small black button on the left side of the locking lever. Press the miter angle button down and hold it, then press that small black button. Release both buttons. This removes the detent feature of the miter angle button. Then you can easily rotate to any angle and lock in with the locking knob. I have to agree with you about the dust generation. The second gen saw (what you and I have) was supposed to address that issue but doesn't look like it has. How unfortunate, because otherwise, this is a great saw. I had planned to build an enclosure around mine anyway so its a moot point for me. Buttery Smooth! 😁
Can it cut a 2x12 at 45 degrees using the standard fence, or do you need to remove the fence and use the secondary little guide for a 2x12 at 45 degrees?
I think the “extra” cut is from removing the sliding fence and placing a think piece of 2x6 on the table, you should find a second small stop behind the main fence. So the sacrificial 2x6 gives you the base and then place your work piece on top for the cut
With the possible exception of the Festool Kapex, I've never used a miter saw which had even adequate dust collection. It's one of those things you live with.
After standing in the aisle today for an hour I bought one. I’m sure the employees at menards we’re relieved. I’ve only been going in the store every other day.
No joke, I'm doing the exact same thing. The hardware manager (Joel) told me that it would be easier if I just put in an application. No purchase for me yet though.
I keep passing it bye. Menards sells the 26-2251 with the shadow line but it doesn't have the second safety switch. Can't be a Gen1 saw if it has a shadow line? How can it be a gen2 saw if it doesn't have the second starter switch on the handle?? Does Menards have a special build deal with Delta? I'm confused...
If steel sharpens steel why do we need carbide? I have one of these, I like the shadow line a lot. Your review is excellent and acurate based on my experience. I did have to fix the cut angle a little bit.
So, if you don't push it side-to-side, you can get accurate cuts? Seems like you have to exercise the kind of attention to detail required by many tools. Do you agree?
I was really looking hard at this saw but because of all the recommendations I kept getting on the bosch axial glide, I just decided to spend the extra and get the 10 inch Bosch. I got a lot of negative reviews on the Delta and the rigid (same saw just in orange) in one of my finish carpentry groups on Facebook saying that after about 6 months they start getting a lot of slop and that deflection gets worse. The dust collection on the bosch is suppose to be way better also (still not the best tho). But it is easy to modify the Bosch to collect a lot more dust by making a custom boot. Its suppose to be here tomorrow. Haven't been this excited over a new tool in a long time lol
I bought this saw a month ago, in part after seeing your unboxing video. I agree 100% with your review, including the terrible dust collection. I also put that 80 tooth Diablo blade on it. In watching your explanation of the black rubber shroud meant to push the dust up, I wonder if a blade with more aggressive teeth (maybe even the stock blade) would “hold” the dust in the gullet longer to help push the dust more “up” and into the shoot than “back” just to deflect forward? Appreciate the review. I love the saw as well and would recommend. I hope to build a case around it eventually to help with the dust. But that’s a someday project.
I just recently came across your channel, on this video I saw that you’re from Monticello, I was born and raised there until I deployed in 2003. It’s a small world. Great channel, really enjoy the videos! I’m looking to upgrade from my bench top table saw soon as I’m getting more into woodworking, if you have any recommendations for a quality saw without breaking my already broken bank, I’d appreciate it. Keep it up brother, thanks!
My search has been between this saw and the Harbor Freight Hercules model. Granted, the biggest issue is price but still an issue. The company I work for has the 10" version of this saw and it's a champ. Love using it. So there's that.
Looks like a decent saw, have had a few Delta/ Rockwell saws over the years.just wish the switch handles were more user friendly for left handed folks.
You do not remove the base of the fence to increase depth of cut. You just remove the upper fence and put a board on the table to raise the work piece up to the top of the lower fence. It is explained in the Delta company video!
I like the space saving design, but that deflection is crazy. My Bosch is rock solid all the way out and it does not throw saw dust at the user. I guess I'll stick with my beast for the time being. great review though. thank you for your honesty.
@@731Woodworks Why would u give a good review on this trash? U pulling a fast one on your subscribers? The Customer service sucks and this Miter saw is trash. How do I know? Went thru 2 of them. I can't stand RUclipsrs that will lie to their Subscribers just because they got something sent to them for free. A lot of Channels have lost tons of Subscribers over what you're doing. Peace. I am out.
Just got my delta cruiser. It was cutting at 88 deg instead of 90 right out of the box. I tried adjusting the fence but they over tightened the bolts at the factory, and I ended up stripping one out. I tried getting in touch with Delta for about a week with no response so I just sent it to a machine shop to calibrate it.
Don't know if it is the best but it's definitely 1 of the best looking, I have 2 of the older Delta Shopmaster miter saws, 1 slider, 1 not, both have been great saws, durability is definitely there.
I have a Ryobi 10". Dust is also a problem with it. About half goes up the dust port when the shop vac is turned on. It seems dust is a problem that is hard to solve with miter saws. You may have to make a shroud and put multiple hoses into which branch from one big hose.
Nice video! I see you have a nice miter station for it. I am about to build one and was checking the deck height and was surprised to find it was not 3.5" like most miter saws but more like 3 9/16 bc of the little "feet" that stick out on the four corners. Maybe I measured wrong - was this your experience?
I had asked you right after you got it how the dust collection stacked up against the dewalt. You indicated it wasn't as good. Well, my wife and son got me this saw for Christmas. I spent the weekend cutting 4-buh-4s (for my wife's new farmhouse kitchen table...that was the deal), and it did awesome. I agree on the dust collection though...for me, the shop vac takes maybe 65-70% of the dust out. But, since it's a 15 amp saw and my auto-on shop vac is 5 amps, my retractable extension cords in the shop keep tripping breakers. Another fix for another day :-) Thanks for the video.
I thought you was going to start moving and grooving on the dance floor with that enthusiastic “that slide gets me every time” 😂😂😂 as I’m singing the it’s electric boogie woogie woogie 😅😂😂😂
I’m late to the party with questions. Seems Delta saws are no where to be found. So… a video on how to select a saw (sliding? compound? Single bevel? 10” vs 12”? etc.) all depending on budget and type of projects. The 12” Dewalt (non sliding) is on sale for $199. Or better to choose a quality 10” sliding model? Many around $299 like the articulating arm Rigid at HD. Plus the 10” blade should fit my table saw as well. Any advice?
Maybe slide the work rails out? Help with dust? Idk. Love ur review vids. Gonna get the masca pocket hole. Maybe this delta... Im not to worried about dust...yet. Keep it up dude.
I’m constantly trying to tinker with better dust collection on everything. I don’t have a Delta Mitre saw, but that dust would drive me crazy. From what I noticed in your video, I’d remove that useless flap and put a dust funnel behind it and hook it up to a dust collector. I can’t post pic on here, otherwise I’d show you what it looks like. Other option is to make a dust hood and vacuum afterwards. Either way, that rubber flap has to go. Try not to use 90s (even 45s if you can help it) on dust hoses. Hope this helps and maybe have a video on it. 🤣
Everybody says Bosch and Fesstool have the best dust collection on their mitre saws. I would copy theirs and modify yours. Just make it as close to their dust collection bottom shield thing.
Bout 8 years ago I bought a Bosch GCM12SD, which uses a similar slide mechanism. I suspect yours is as robust as mine so expect many years of BUTTA-SCHMOOVE service. LOL. Mine has a very small amount of deflection when fully extended as well, but I suspect ALL of these miter saws have some when fully extended. Mine never came with any kind of light marker, but Amazon has a laser guide, (Oshlun LG-R01) that’s installed in place of the washer and it’s great! Mark’s my kerf exactly to the left. I have the same complaint you do when it comes to dust collection. The only one I have seen that really works well is a Festool, but who can afford that?
I have the same saw and I after watching this video I ordered the zero clearance tape you featured . It works amazing and yes I love the butter smooth also lol . Keep up the great videos
@@731Woodworks I'm currently leaning toward the Delta because it has the light line I like on the Dewalt 780, I have a small shop so the Dewalt is a bit big. The Delta is also less expensive than the Bosch.
If it helps anyone, I’ve had this saw for about 2 years. I was on a long wait list for the V2 of this model. He’s spot on with everything. Dust collection is horrific but if it saves you the headache just know THEY ALL SUCK. Let’s have an honest conversation about that deflection. If you’re moving into ANY type of finer wood working, this matters. If you’re going to be making a 14” long cut that will be a BOx end or picture frame, something that has to be dead square. Do it on the table saw. This saw deflects too much for me past 8”. It’s just a matter of knowing your tools abilities. On the up side it’s a beast of a motor. Now that in mind put this saw on a 30amp breaker if you can. At start up it spools to 22 amps. I’ve done the testing.
@@edrupp2318 glad it helped. I put this on a meter because I was popping breakers. Upon start up this motor peaks very high as I mentioned and runs at 15amps under no load. When you try pairing it with a vacuum it can cause issues. I put it on its own 30amp breaker. Just one of those small pains in the shop.
I'm looking at the Ridgid 10-inch version of this which is essentially the same from everything I hear right now I can get it for $229. Seriously considering bringing it home today. Only thing I'm wondering about is I've heard some things about blade deflection however I'm not sure that some of these dudes aren't treating the saw like a piece of gym equipment when they extended out
I have this saw. And must have got it before they put light on it. And I would love that. But yes dust collection is horrible. Going to try and figure out a good way to stop saw dust.
Just bought this (Ridgid R4241) for a steal of a deal ($220). Had to go through my local orange box store to find it packed away on a top shelf, buried in a different section. I'm returning it. The deflection is unacceptable. If the saw was 20 years old, great. Had a good life, but with a roughly 1/8" side to side with barely a finger on it - it's way, way, way too much. For rough cuts for framing or decks - amazing deal. For semi-fine work (case molding, baseboards, etc) - not gonna work for me. I'm going to return it and get the Makita slider cordless. It's 5x more, but that's why I started converting to Makita 4-5 years ago. Lesson: You get what you pay for.
I've watched 3 videos about this saw now and all 3 talk about how great and smooth the hinged sliding mechanism is, have people not used the Bosch? It's been around for a while now and it is buttery smooth.
My miter saw has just been alone for a while. I just use my miter guage/fence for angled cuts on the table saw. Cross cuts i use the table saw sled. Not saying that a miter saw is useless, but I haven't had use for it lately.
I have the 10" version and have found when beveling a 1x12 at 45 degress it is off by 5/16" from 0" to 11.25" and that's a dry run. So when beveling all detents on the table are worthless....but when not making bevel cuts the detents are spot on. This is a fatal flaw that is not adjustable. If you do a lot of bevel cuts this saw is garbage. Luckily I only paid 349 from HD. BTW.....Delta service is crickets

Can you do a review of your 8in jointer a follow up of the pro & cons
This was the first miter saw I ever bought. I inherited one from my dad that was made in the 1980s. Used that thing up until last year.
Thanks for the great review. Just got tired of my miter saw loosing it's adjustments so I ordered one today. Can't wait for the butter smooth slide.
Hope you enjoy it!
I've been using this saw for over a year, the slide still impresses me every time I use it. I love this saw, I agree with to the dust issue though. I took the dust shield off and it helped a little.
I’ll have to try that

Have the cruzer . bought it over the Bosch because of one big reason it has a metal locking plate instead of plastic.

Awesome! Congrats!
That's great to hear! Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad you get yourself a dust mask. My uncle was a woodworker for years and now he can barely breathe. 20 years ago they didn't know its so dangerous. Stay safe!
RZ masks are nice
You should check out the Milwaukee 6955-20. It's dust collection is amazing, has a light, and it's smooth. I love it.
Great tip!
So Bosch added the ability to tighen a bolt to add more friction for those that wanted it ha ha
ha ha.
You can do that on this saw also. There is a screw you turn to adjust that on pivot point of the arms.
My Bosch 12" is garbage. Consistently cuts banana-shaped cuts whether I cut front to back or back to front, and burns the wood, no matter how gentle I am with it. Been round and round with Bosch support.
would have gotten the Bosch but no shadow line and that's a Deal breaker
@@gregorymandile2321 I did an after market hack and made one. Works great 👍
I'm gonna need a shirt that says butter smooth
lol
For the dust collection of this saw I improved it two ways.
1) Enlarge the dust collection "flap" area by attaching some rubber craft foam. You can simply use double stick tape to attach it and form a slight U shape there.
2) Whenever making a cut. Extend the saw so you are starting the cut as far forward on the material as possible and the plunge the saw. This simple technique change will help the collection more than I thought it should :)
I dont have but a small shop vac on it and it works 20 times better than what you are showing there. Also at the beginning when you don't have dust collection hooked up, it sure looks like the shoot there could be partially clogged also leading to more and more stuff being shot out as its deflecting off the clog.
Thanks. It's not clogged at all. There are some things I could try to improve it for sure.
“Super Smooth” greatness!
👊
Mine is a fixed Dewalt Dual bevel 12" miter saw I am looking at getting a new sliding saw this review is helpful, thanks for putting this video up!
Glad it helped
I received the same saw from my wife for Christmas and I agree it is “butter smooth”! I love the saw yet I will need to make a solution for the dust issue.
👊🏻
I'm kind of a broom and dust pan type of guy (just a hobbyist) but the way I understand it, dust collection always kinda sucks with a miter saw.
I just bought the ridgid sliding saw right before Christmas. It's the same saw as this one. Just different brand and colors.
They do come with soft start, and dust collection is best with another person holding the vacuum right by the blade 🤘
Congratulation on your growing channel! I found this channel after you've uploaded the unboxing video. Going back to check that video out too!
Thank you
I've been really happy with my Dewalt 12 inch sliding saw. Especially with the shadow line. I was never a fan of Lazer lines and always just brought the blade to my cut line. To me this was the most accurate way. That was until I used the Dewalt shadow line! It has spoiled me! Lol! My Dewalt has always been extremely accurate for me as well.
Nice saw. I love the sliding mechanism.
Smooth as butter!
They are pricey
Thank you
I run the Bosch at work, I've cut things you shouldn't cut with a saw of that price but it's eaten through it all and to this day it's still smooth as ice.
Psalm 27
Thank you
Great review. That's definitely a feature packed saw. I've had my eye on one for a while, but can't justify the price tag quite yet.
They are very expensive!
Thank you. I did miss that for sure
Very informative. Always looking for space saving ..love the tool reviews...👋
Thank you
I've been eyeing that saw for about a year
It's nice
Don't buy it. Straight garbage. Went thru 2. And their Customer service sucks. They break easily. And the dust collection is the worst I've seen.
With the possible exception of the Festool Kapex, I've never used a miter saw which had even adequate dust collection. It's one of those things you live with.
I purchased this saw, what a mistake returned and bought a jet mitersaw nice machine
After standing in the aisle today for an hour I bought one. I’m sure the employees at menards we’re relieved. I’ve only been going in the store every other day.
Ha, it's probably more common than you think. Congrats!
No joke, I'm doing the exact same thing. The hardware manager (Joel) told me that it would be easier if I just put in an application. No purchase for me yet though.
🤣
I keep passing it bye. Menards sells the 26-2251 with the shadow line but it doesn't have the second safety switch. Can't be a Gen1 saw if it has a shadow line? How can it be a gen2 saw if it doesn't have the second starter switch on the handle?? Does Menards have a special build deal with Delta? I'm confused...
Oh I do that to in the Lewis Center store!
Thanks for the review, I am shopping for a new saw and this review was very helpfull
If steel sharpens steel why do we need carbide?
I have one of these, I like the shadow line a lot. Your review is excellent and acurate based on my experience. I did have to fix the cut angle a little bit.
Great review. Good detail !
That shadow is on the money
But that’s a someday project.
thank you
I have the 2nd generation 10” and love it
I just recently came across your channel, on this video I saw that you’re from Monticello, I was born and raised there until I deployed in 2003.
Tough decision. Good luck
Excellent description thanks!!!!
Thank you
Great review. Also check the Makita and Festool miter saws that have a space saving design and better dust collection.
Nice, maybe they'll send me one to review 😉
@@731Woodworks Why would u give a good review on this trash? U pulling a fast one on your subscribers? The Customer service sucks and this Miter saw is trash. How do I know? Went thru 2 of them. I can't stand RUclipsrs that will lie to their Subscribers just because they got something sent to them for free. A lot of Channels have lost tons of Subscribers over what you're doing. Peace. I am out.
glad I watch this my bosch doesn't flex il keep my bosch thanks
Great job Matt. Love the content. Keep it up man!
Thank you
Just got my delta cruiser. It was cutting at 88 deg instead of 90 right out of the box. I tried adjusting the fence but they over tightened the bolts at the factory, and I ended up stripping one out. I tried getting in touch with Delta for about a week with no response so I just sent it to a machine shop to calibrate it.
Ya that shadow line is amazing I have it on my ryobi and I am enjoying it
👊🏻
Don't know if it is the best but it's definitely 1 of the best looking, I have 2 of the older Delta Shopmaster miter saws, 1 slider, 1 not, both have been great saws, durability is definitely there.
I have a Ryobi 10". Dust is also a problem with it. About half goes up the dust port when the shop vac is turned on. It seems dust is a problem that is hard to solve with miter saws. You may have to make a shroud and put multiple hoses into which branch from one big hose.
👊🏻
Nice video! I see you have a nice miter station for it. I am about to build one and was checking the deck height and was surprised to find it was not 3.5" like most miter saws but more like 3 9/16 bc of the little "feet" that stick out on the four corners. Maybe I measured wrong - was this your experience?
Great video, thanks. The dust deflector flap looks flexible. Can you remove or temporarily tape it out of the way to see if that makes a difference?
Yes you can remove it. I’ve heard it helps a lot to do that
I just purchased the DWS779 I'm pretty happy with it. It is also compatible to have a light upgrade for about $80.00."
779 is an awesome saw!
Another fix for another day :-)
Thanks for the video.
Thanks for sharing
I thought you was going to start moving and grooving on the dance floor with that enthusiastic “that slide gets me every time”
😂😂😂 as I’m singing the it’s electric boogie woogie woogie 😅😂😂😂
😂
I’m late to the party with questions. Seems Delta saws are no where to be found. So… a video on how to select a saw (sliding? compound? Single bevel? 10” vs 12”? etc.) all depending on budget and type of projects. The 12” Dewalt (non sliding) is on sale for $199. Or better to choose a quality 10” sliding model? Many around $299 like the articulating arm Rigid at HD. Plus the 10” blade should fit my table saw as well. Any advice?
Do you recommend a miter saw or a cross cut sled for your table saw?
thanks
I know I can’t afford it lol.
Pretty impressive machine, Matt! Really nice! 😃
I bought one from Skill... It was the cheapest. 😬
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks! 👍
I have the same saw and I after watching this video I ordered the zero clearance tape you featured . It works amazing and yes I love the butter smooth also lol .
Keep up the great videos
Thank you
Great review. Thank you.
Thank you
Do you still like the Delta Cruzer vs. the Dewalt 12” after a year of use?
I've been going between this, the Bosch, and the Dewalt 780
Both are great saws
@@731Woodworks I'm currently leaning toward the Delta because it has the light line I like on the Dewalt 780, I have a small shop so the Dewalt is a bit big. The Delta is also less expensive than the Bosch.
I got the 10 inch and I love it!!
Big thanks to you, Joshua! That's great info. My 55y/o house has a 15 amp circuit in the garage, so this saw probably isn't for me. Thanks again!
👊🏻
Got the same message one does a good job
Nice
I've watched 3 videos about this saw now and all 3 talk about how great and smooth the hinged sliding mechanism is, have people not used the Bosch? It's been around for a while now and it is buttery smooth.
That saw looks super slick, but I don't think I could tolerate that much side to side slop when fully extended, especially at the price of this saw
My miter saw has just been alone for a while. I just use my miter guage/fence for angled cuts on the table saw. Cross cuts i use the table saw sled. Not saying that a miter saw is useless, but I haven't had use for it lately.
👍🏻
Very good review! Wow, it does throw a lot of saw dust forward. I’ve also been looking at the Metabo. I wonder how it stacks up to the Delta?
@jami w thank you. Really appreciate the reply and info.
Something to mention, the fence can be removed for additional cut capacity.
This comment is 3 years old, did they modify the saw so the dust collection is better now, or is it still the same
Hey Matt! Do you happen to have a video on the miter bench? I think I see two little cubbies there where you cleared out for 45*?
I don’t. I made this one based off of this www.hertoolbelt.com/mobile-miter-saw-station-and-storage/
Amazing product I’m thinking of getting a drill press, if you really like your drill press do you think you could do a video like this on yours?
I did a video on it when I first got it. It's a nice press, slightly under powered but works good for my uses.
@@731Woodworks oh sweet!! I’ll go check it out right now! Thank you very much!
