No wonder I was so fascinated with Porsche. It has such a fascinating history. Towards the end of the video it went so silent there the breathing sound was clearly audible. I can just imagine taking all that experience without any noise.
8:19 those "discs" on the wheels are called Turbofans, they were used for brake cooling, i'm not to sure about the manufacturer but i do believe that BBS made them. Because i've only seen them mounted 'over' the classic BBS RS wheels. Rotiform has the "Aerodisc" which is a modern interpretation of the Turbofans but without any technical purpose/function
Manthey Racing have aerodiscs too for the rear wheels of the 991 GT2RS and 3RS. As far as I know it helps guide the air in the back and produce more downforce.
Ronal Turbos I believe are the wheels you were talking about on that model car. And most of those cars looked like Spark model cars 👍 thanks for sharing the experience!
That carbon tub with the pushrod suspension is from a Carrera GT not a 918. 918 didn’t get the pushrod suspension because it was difficult to package with the electric motors up front.
Porsche built one of these facilities near me here in LA but I haven't had a chance to experience it yet. Its very cool to drive past it on the freeway though. My only gripe I have with it is that it replaced a par 3 course that I used to play all the time lol
Think those guys have access to "ancient" Porsche paint colors? I can't find any paint to fill the rock chips for "Polizei weiß", which is on the paint card in the door jam of my '77 924 Martini edition.
Glad to see one of the best detailers to have his own dream car to detail
Porsches & Plane Spotting = Heaven!
I’m from Atlanta and I come visit it every year or so to see what’s changed in the museum. I love it.
Thanks for taking us on that tour!
OMG Larry that Tahoe blue. ...I need that car in my life!
Thanks for sharing Larry 👍🏻
That’s fire red …. And Larry says …. “It’s all swirled out”.
So much passion and attention to detail in this place. Every car has a unique and interesting story to it. That 968 really did look good. I get it.
Cool video with a ton of cool cars. Enjoy driving your Porsche!
This is heaven on earth!! The 968 convertible has always been one of my favorites.
Very interesting video. Thank you for filming your tour. Porsche is an awesome brand with such rich history.

Yes truly so much to take in! Worth a visit for sure :)
Porsche.....there is no substitute!

The more I learn about porshe the more I appreciate the brand , im going to have to visit one of these centers one day.
THIS this is why you buy a Porsche, they're not just a car maker they're enthusiasts
Awesome
Coincidentally my wife is in Atlanta and I sent her this video to go check this out! Thanks for sharing Larry!
So awesome, as a fellow Porsche nut I'd love to go there.
Congrats Larry! Thank you for sharing!

Hi Larry, Rotiform Wheels have an attachment they call Aerodisc that looks similar to the wheels you like.
I could totally see Larry pulling off a sweet set of rotiforms with the aerodiscs
What a cool place to tour…..neat experience with the delivery of your new car! 👍
What a cool tour!
I got to sit in the original Type 64! Very interesting story behind it.
Definitely want to take delivery there
What an experience! Hope to get out there one day!
Very awesome to see! Wish we got to see a little of the restoration shop to but being there in person must have been wild!

I was just there 3 weeks ago! I had the best time there.
I think the wheels are called Turbofans. Rotiform makes something similar, with their areodisks

Larry what did you get?.....!!
Carrera GT Chassis, Not a 918
I'd travel a little farther and go to Stuttgart again.
I think rotiform makes a aero wheel. Ken block just put some on his new EV car
Fun fact: This was used in Avengers 2-4, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Captain America 3 & Ant-Man 1.
2nd
:)
