I just watched the speedruns of the first 3 games, and I got to say, Mega Man has not changed since its inception.
If Capcom built a level editor into their latest installment, all future sequels would become redundant.

This mentality is what exactly killed megaman in the first place. Real fans like exactly this and it works for us. It doesn't need to be change at all.

@@NeoKurow Agreed. Mega Man definitely has a formula. We LIKE the formula. Also there is/was an unofficial, unlicensed level editor program that let people build their own levels a la Mario Maker and upload them to a server for other people to play, and as you might expect people made all kinds of levels--fair ones that very well could have been in a numbered Mega Man title, hot garbage that nobody should play, Metroidvania levels that got tedious in a hurry and ate RAM like nothing else, as well as incredibly difficult levels that required ppl to quickswap their weapons for pixel-precise movement-tech. There's still plenty of room for creativity and diversity in MM levels for future games.

@@prettyvelvet6881 I also tired of lazy developers that can't design good levels anymore and went with the shitty rogue like random levels that are completely garbage, random, bad designed and impossible to master. 30XX is a good example of something that could be great but is ruined by the shitty mechanic. On the other hand the gunvolt series is amazing and the true megaman successor.
