2015 Grand Cherokee Summit 5.7 about 91 000 miles - first signs of rear diff fluid change - 1 about 10 000 miles later I changed the fluid and diff is quiet since- Mopar Fluid close to $100 for a 1L (not 1qt) only 1L you need. about 97 000 miles first problem ever - evap - replaced, about $50 - easy to replace then just you need to reset the code error, I did it with ANCEL AD410 enhanced OBD II. about 99 000 miles front left control arm replaced - parts about $140 (control arm plus some new bolts and nut, I purchased also ratcheting wrench set for one nut inside the engine bay was hard to access) Between 101 000 - 102 000 miles all the fluids Changed: 1. Coolant (cooling system flushed) Prestone (GM vehicles, orange cap 5 years/150 000 miles ready to use) 2. Break Fluid changed (should be clear in color if it's fresh) DOT 3 Prestone 3. Power steering fluid (I used Mopar power steering fluid) 4. Transfer Case Fluid (I used mopar fluid) 5. Transmision fluid (Iused mopar - (8 & 9 Speed Transmision Fluid, green in color) 6. Front Diff Fluid (I used mopar fluid) 7. Rear Diff Fluid (I used Mopar fluid) 8. about 109 000 just recently 3 weeks ago 01.04.2022 Radiator leak - tried to seal it with radiator glue but no luck, leak was next to the fan bracket, I just ordered new-replacement $120, OEM is too expensive about $400-$500. 9.Recently - battery changed, I went with interstate AGM at costco, would not start remotely other wise fine till the lower temps came and car barely started with the push button. I'm not a mechanic and not super skilled guy, just people on youtube and their videos helped tremendously, some time ago in 2020 I try to refuel by gas can without the funnel, guess what happened :) I have had to change the inlet, just the upper cap assembly, about $40 for the part. :) changing time about 4 hours! :) Oil - I use a full synthetic, I had in it Castrol, Mobile 1, Valvoline, Kirkland, Purple Royal and must say the engine works longer quieter on Mobile1, since I noticed I use only Mobile1. (Longer quieter I mean also smoother for longer time, on the other oils let's say I had 40% left before the changing it I could hear clunking noise at start before engine was worm) Gas- I use a regular gas, on the trip to Florida (NY - Florida) tested on Reg MID and Super, the same exactly 22MPG highway. And please remember your Tires must be all the same, if not, transfer case plus replacing it is about $4000. Keep the Tires pressure as it should be, check at least monthly, a few (3-4 psi) lower -cold tires-it"s ok but not less in my opinion. Any question please ask, thank you guys! :)
I own a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have only had 2 major problems with it. 1.) ac fan went out $139 total cost of repair @ 57k miles. 2.) oil filter housing $625 to repair @ 96k miles. The mechanic that performed these fixes told me that these cars are made out of plastic heavily under the hood, so when one component made out of plastic like the oil filter housing goes out the other components that are also made out of plastic are bound to follow. Just something to be aware of. Great v6 and transmission tho, that 8 speed 👌🏻
I had to replace my oil housing filter… I had extended warranty that covered it… now I’m having an AC issue it blows but sometimes it stop blowing cold air … 2014 JGC
@@renaymiddleton2868 that’s how mine started too. Sometimes it would start and sometimes it wouldn’t . When it wouldn’t blow air I would hit the passenger side left under dash’s, where the passengers left leg goes really hard and it would fix the issue. This worked for days until it just didn’t and it stopped working. Took it to an AC mechanic and he told me it was the AC fan. It has been working fine for the past 5 years now
i've own 2020 limited for over a year, two things 1. the backup camera sometimes does not work and 2. one time got in the jeep and it wouldn't start, got out and back in and it started :)
I’ve owned my 2018 Laredo since 11/18. At 11k miles the AC broke. It was the evaporator. If not under warranty it would cost $2600! Other than that I love the Jeep. Plan on keeping it a long time.
Bought my 2013 Lorado new. Put 163000 miles on him. Here my few problems 112000m - thermostat 136000m - radiator leaking 141000m - oil pressure sensor 154000m - Random/multiple cylinder misfire code. Replaced coil packs to fix the problem 160000m - Oxygen exhaust sensor
I got a 12 laredo in May of 21 and so far Mines been pretty good. Had 58k miles on it and just hit 70k. One complaint I have so far is I hate the Mercedes trans that's in it
Purchased my 2021 Grand cherokee L a month ago! Was so excited because it's a new design; just like they say when a new version comes out for iPhone or Samsung, "let them work the bugs out before buying!" 1 week, the start/stop system warning ⚠️ is on. Seems the drivers door latch need replacing, but I was told because vehicle is newer model, the part isn't available yet! Wait.... what!? Part won't be available until later in October, potentially November. The next week, I noticed this annoying whistling when driving on interstate, took to dealership this morning, and I'm being told the issue is in both side mirrors. They will have to keep my vehicle (that I've only had 1 month) and try and find the areas that need sealing on the mirrors. This is my first Jeep product ever, as I'm a Chevy guy normally, and I'm getting a little worried. Overall, I love the way my Jeep drives, I'm enjoying the all the bells and whistles that come with the LIMITED edition. I did call Jeep so they could stay on top the dealership and make sure all my concerns are addressed.
I had issues with my purchase as well! Start stop light was on upon delivery and I didn’t notice it due to all the new lights and things going on in that dash. Turned out dealer let the car sit too long and let the batteries die. Dealer should have never handed me the keys but I think they did it so they could charge my warranty for the battery instead of it coming out of there funds. All the issues I had were 100% the dealerships fault and not Jeeps, after getting all my issues fixed. I love this vehicle and do not regret my purchase only where I bought it.
Yup had that same issue with my uconnect was stuck loading and rear view camera was just blue screen . Had to get whole knew screen . Luckily warranty covered it
Very lucky.. $2,200 to replace screen. It has many components attached to it. I am lucky myself I had extended warranty on my 2016 GC Limited. It was pre-owned pre-certified. Have fun with your Jeep.🇺🇸🐻🇺🇸
I was watching this because I have the 2021 Anniversary Edition with just maybe under 3000 miles on it and several times when I am coming to a stop (and it could be a little quick but I am definitely not going to hit the car in front of me) the BIG red lights BRAKE come on flashing.. and yesterday I wasn’t even that close when I did the stop and it flashed bright red BRAKE and I could feel the car automatically brake for me.. it was strange. Was thinking about calling and asking the dealership about it, then I decided to look on RUclips and see if anyone had had the same problem. Thanks for your content..it really helped out when I was looking to buy my Jeep…😊
Just an FYI from a fuel pump tech: If you’re having issues with the nozzle clicking off over & over, turn the nozzle upside down and insert into the filler neck and fill up. Will work more than not
Another common issue is the thermostat housing cracking. Not sure when Jeep redesigned it, but it has been redesigned and beefed up- though it's still plastic. Super cheap to fix and easy to fix on your own- the part was 28 bucks. RUclips has a few videos. I don't know the upgraded part number and the 1st one I ordered on Amazon had pictures of the newer one, but came as old one. Sent it back and ordered the Mopar one. The new one is obvious because it has a thick reinforcement around/before the 90 degree turn of the housing.
@@bigbear5981 I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude Edition with 3.6 V6. I looked at my previous purchase on Amazon and the Mopar part number is 5184651AH. Hope that helps
Just had to change mine at 80,000 miles. Hopefully I don't run into coolant issues for awhile. Although looking at various jeep forums the 2011-2018 are notorious for coolant problems. 🤭
I love the GC, I've had 4... '08, 2-'14s and now a '20. My 20 keeps having a trans problem with 21k miles. It feel like it keeps slipping. Awaiting a diagnosis on it. My Uconnect keeps freezing and forgetting the stations and changing the time. My Charger is the same way ... $50k vehicles can't keep the time. Obviously I'm way more worried about the trans tho
I have an 2011 GC overland. It has 106,000 miles and here's all the issues it has: backup cameras only work when they want. Backup sensors don't work. Heated/cooled seats don't work. It doesn't want to start all the time and oh... the engine randomly dies when I'm speeding down the interstate. All my electronics and radio stay on but my engine dies and so does the power steering. I'm amazed it hasn't killed me yet cause I've almost put it into a couple ditches when it dies on me. It's a death trap.
got my 2017 Overland a couple of weeks ago and i already got a screen message that my air suspension needs servicing and also the sunroof has jammed otherwise i'm loving my purchase!
Just purchased a 2018 Grand Cherokee Altitude with 48,000 miles and Engine light came on after having it for 2 days. Code P0456 Evap System small leak and my water pump was leaking, luckily they fixed these problems at no charge. Then when I picked it up, the radio started changing stations without me touching it. So if it keeps doing that I will do a soft reset. Thanks for all the great information on these vehicles. I've also heard that the transmission goes out at some point, fingers crossed mine doesn't. I really love this vechicle!
Just got my 2014 Limited GC out the shop yesterday for Evap codes, it happened to be a valve that wasn’t opening and closing properly...80,178 miles it came up to be 580 after taxes
My biggest problems on my 2011 grand Cherokee limited have been the oil control valve for the mds, the cheap plastic elbow cracking going into the firewall for the heater hoses, my driver seat heat doesn't work, and my backup camera only working intermittently which doesn't really bother me because I always look backwards when backing up, but it would be nice to have it. I took it in for a recall and my backup camera worked flawlessly for a couple of months, then went out again. The last issue I've had was coming out in the morning and my automatic tailgate being up.
my 2011 jeep grand cherokee. left me stranded a hour away from home last Sunday. was leaking all the coolant out. the plastic fitting on the hose for the heater core broke. for no reason. luckily i have a good mechanic. so labor is only 300$. for 3 hours. but why does Chrysler use cheap parts to build these vehicles
Here in Australia the diesel variant has common issues like, main bearing failures - even in recent year models, requiring engine replacements. Also DPF (diesel particulate filter) problems causing different issues. In regards to the pentastar engine you don’t really hear of any problems as it seams very reliable. I have a 2018 25th anniversary limited with a pentastar (30000 km) and have had no major problems. The only problem I did have was the 4x4 pages would freeze, Jeep did an update and have had no issues since. Fantastic value for money car.
2018 GC and had the uconnect issue. Reverse camera wouldn't work and no controls worked. I let it sit overnight and issue fixed itself. Very weird. Also just had our water pump replaced at 40,000 miles. Jeep QC has gone way downhill. Definitely not the reliable vehicle it used to be.
My uconnect screen is delaminating. 2019 Jeep grand Cherokee high altitude. Apparently a common problem you should talk about!! Love your content bro!!
Quadralift is not a matter of IF it's gonna fail, it's WHEN it's gonna fail. And It's pretty darn expensive. I just had mine replaced, flushed 5,000 USD from my pocket.
I had a 2014 overland and i had a u connect problem also it goes black and never turns back on and i need to take it to the dealer and also i had an electric problem ill kind of lights will turn on and off and it was a lose wire but it took me 1 year to know what wire
Gas pumping i don't think is a problem with the jeep. Allot of pumps have a rubber seal type thing on them that has a switch that pushes in when you put the nozzle in the filler neck. And it doesn't go in far enough to hit that switch on pumps around here like that i just pull that rubber piece back towards the pump handle or turn it upside down like you do but on pumps with out that rubber thing i can fill up my tank with no problem.
I saw a video titled something like why you should never overfill your gas tank. The gas pump nozzle has a kind of floating sensor in it that cuts off as soon as liquid enters the vapor recovery channel. If need to defeat this device, be careful because overfilling your tank will eventually destroy the filter in the tank’s vent system. I have only experienced this issue at a couple of stations since buying my 2017 Overland a year ago.
I bought a 2011 gc overland back in November I’ve had issues from the beginning just fixed the driveshaft 900$ & now I’ve got issues and think it’s the compressor to the air suspension. cause it sunk down overnight it got “fixed” and then went down again I also think I have an issue on blend door actuator too.
I have a 2012 Laredo also. Bought it in 2015 with 32,000 miles. Now it has 87,000 Only problem I have had is. My brake booster went on me. Replaced it and all is well. As a matter of fact, here we are in August 2022 and I still have original battery. Of course I have done brakes and oil changes all filters when needed. Also at 80,000 I changed spark plugs. Cheap enough to do. Overall runs great. 2 trips a year from N.Y. to Florida.
Thanks for responding. People scare you from buying this vehicle. I want a white Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015. I guess I have to take a chance as we do with anything in life.
My 2015 High Altitude EcoDiesel kicks check engine light with a P026C code every so often, but goes away after a couple days. I heard it is a common problem with that model and model year.. 🤦🏾♂️
2020 “North” edition…the nav voice volume goes to 30 every restart…..annoying! Also probably the “blend” door….winter warm ups gives a sudden BLAST of heat for many minutes before it controls.
Hey there I bought my GC 2015 Limited V6 3.6 with 48,000 km (30,000mi) in February 2021. I work on boats so I did not put too many kilometres on her. I put like 12,000km (7,500miles ) in 15 months until now. BTW I'm from Mexico, with bad shape roads, low-quality fuel, etc. Just consider we don't actually do many miles in our cars. Almost everything I had put was in a preventive way. 51,000 km - Random cylinder misfire code. Replaced spark plugs and the code just disappeared 58,000km Engine mount was leaking and I have to replace it 60,000 km- Just yesterday I changed the Thermostat housing due to a check engine code (like $30 bucks the spare, I did it myself) I have a weird noise under the truck and it's driving nuts, I can not find the reason, it sounds like a little jingle bell sounding every time I go through bad shape roads or bumps. It's a good truck it has a good and imponent image, but in my city, my MPG is around 12 and on the highway maybe 23 MPG in a good scenario that's maybe a con. And spares are not precisely cheap maybe in the US are cheaper I guess for the importation, tax and transport fees we have to buy them more expensive.
I have a 2011 jeep grand Cherokee limited 5.7L and at first when I got the car I was so excited and it really is a good car, but the models with the V8 have issues with the exhaust manifold warping and leaking, head gasket blowing or leaking, and the Uconnect issues. I wasn’t aware of these issues till about a month into owning my jeep. Now I’m stuck paying a car off that I’ll eventually pay more to fix it than it was for the car💀 I love jeeps and all but they for people with lots of money. J.E.E.P = jeeps eat every penny 🤷🏽♂️
In my 2018 jeep Cherokee I had been driving with is that my screen says service shifter its took about 8mnths for the dealer to get the part still haven't made an app. Its cost about 350 dollars to replace but mines they went a head and put it under warranty even tho my warranty was up. But let be known if any one else had this pop up and not only my self
I brought the 2020 Trackhawk, here in Aussie Land ,apart from the price, awesome vehicle🤙, only issue after 4500 kilometres is the blue light around the usb flick on and off .
i had also black screen in the beginning ! i think 2 weeks after delivery.. they told me; the cables / the copper inside the wire-hoses are thin like hair. and when the engineer in the factory just dots at something,.. this wire could brake or break when temperature changes first time from very hot to very cool. since they changed the uconnect... no problems anymore... second thing... clutch.... i tried to pull my caravan with full speed to the highway.. (i live in germany.. it is allowed) that was too much power against the clutch ... broke... but my fault ; not the car...
I have a 2017 Jeep srt and the fcw and service stability light comes on the dashboard after I get to a certain speed . Then it turns off when I turn off the vehicle but comes back again after
Hey I like that but just old to new here some key tip I had one change that oil keep adding treatment oil and gas treatment that for your injectors which is a 🗝️ to this jeeps when those lock up it's over if you don't know how to do o2sensor always do them always sparkplugs coil pack airfiter and sensor you have that jeep for God bless
Any other tips? I'm trying to baby mine and do all the little things. I did the sparkplug coil 50k miles ago. I keep the oil changed, currently due for one now. I do the fuel treatment but have not tried oil treatment.
Thats mad!! what a rich guy haha congrats on the beast, I'm going to have a look at a 2012 srt 125k on the clock what do you think should I stay away from it or are they a decent car?? Iv got a 2016 sv6 vf black edition atm But need a bigger car and also always wanted a v8
I bought a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited X 3 days ago. Now that I have it home I noticed quite a bit of wrinkling on the seats. Front and back. Has anyone else had this problem?
I have a 2015 Jeep grand cherokee limited got it used with 51k at the time. When I bought it the screen had a service phone message that kept popping up on the screen I just ignored it and for a while it was fine until it started to glitch out. The floor mats are of low quality as I put a big hole through it from just daily driving. Had to change water pump the transfer case broke and suspension on driver side is problematic. Even the Lug nuts are of Jeep quality as they stripped when I got a flat tire had to get towed. My experience hasn't been a good one and I will never in my life get another Jeep.
Then our government ought to make sure these defects are addressed. I've always said if you were Compensated for your time and inconvenience for replacing these defects which these corporate theives knew about by design. If They'd stop okaying half ass parts that they know will fail. Car companies know how to make great automobiles but then they can't fleece their customers so they make great automobile exteriors with garbage parts inside. They don't fix cars anymore they just change expensive cheap parts at high labor cost.
I had a blue screen / screen frozen on back up camera view, at 40k mi. Went away after car wash parked for about an hour. No need to disconnect the battery.
On my 2020 limited, the uconnect will often reset the order I arranged the apps in on the bottom of the screen. I've also noticed when I'm using carplay and skipping songs, sometimes it won't skip the song until I hit the skip button a second time, which gets kind of annoying.
I have a 2014 limited, as well, bought at the same milage. There are no issues so far. Please let me know if you have had any issues or if any come up later. I love my jeep and continue to do preventative maintenance on it. Any suggestions?
@@CynthiaVanWinkle-bo4tf Hey Cynthia, oh yes well do. So far I have done everything. As far as oil change and transmission drive train!! Don't be afraid I swear by AMSOIL, for everything liquid ON your vehicle!!.. ☺️
2017 Overland 5.7hemi. Random coolant leak issue at the drain plug. I’ve replaced it , still happens. Can’t see any cracks or debris. Also get a random MPG changes to liters per km, but everything else is still English units.
My 2003 Limited HO had blend door failure. Also it would have the wires in the door crack and break because they were just a touch to short. Hoping they at least addressed that by now.
I have a 2021 80th anniversary at around 600 miles had loud screeching noise from the from passenger wheel. had to have it towed to the nearest dealer. They said the emergency brake would not dis engage. This happened wile driving and the ebrake was not on or touched. Weird. haven't had trouble since. I thought a rock was stuck in the brake or something.
I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude. I bought it preowned with 22K miles in 2018. Since then I have replaced my radiator which just cracked one day parked. Got it towed to the mechanic who said it cracked due to the cold weather in NYC making the plastic connected to the radiator crack due to temperature change. Also once I hit 50k miles I just replaced my differential and differential case cause it had a crack in it. The dealer said it was due to a faulty piece from the manufactures. Luckily my car came with preowned warranty cause it was a $6k job. Ever since I got the car back once the differential was fixed now it has overheating issues. The car thinks its overheating so it stops responding to my throttle and will just die down for no longer than a minute and then I can keep driving. Since then I have taken it to three different mechanics who cant find whats wrong. So overall I have a love/hate relationship with it.
@@BJPLIFESTYLE yeah I definitely have had a bunch of problems with this car but like I said I still love/hate it. One thing I forgot to mention for some reason my passenger chair squeaks like crazy I have had every part replaced besides the seat and the dealer made some BS excuse why it wasn't covered.
I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2018 and the problem I have a week after I got it was the check engine EVAP . Took it to the dealership and they fixed and a day later the same thing again .
Yup I got a 2015 and still the same issue, took it to get fixed and it came back on like a week later. Now it turns on for a couple days then goes off for a week or 2
I had a 2010 dodge journey and the blend door is an extremely common issue on them so i wonder if it’s just a common issue across every lineup from Mopar
My Uconnect stops responding. it freezes and takes me to the setting, but the touchscreen is unresponsive. Today, the seat and the mirrors basically turned down and reset my seat. I was driving on the highway and couldn't see. Had to fix my mirrors and my seat. So annoying.
I have a 2018 Grand Cherokee limited the music volume goes up and down sometimes. I have to stop the jeep completely turn it off and on again to fix the problem Also changing the headlights is a hassle , must have very small hands to get access to the bulbs.
Have you had any issues or heard of anything like this: my radio keeps cutting in and out and eventually just stops. Today my screen went black ac shut off no radio . Also I couldn’t use the door locks or roll down my windows. Eventually the ac turned back and was able to use door locks and window, however, the radio didn’t work. Any had this issue before? I have the uconnect 5 screen. I have 15 GC Laredo
2015 GC Laredo just purchased. Im noticing when i let off gas at slow speed it feels to downshift as if its a 5 speed. Also, the AC blows cold air then itll blow really cold air back to cool air so on. Where do i take it to get it checked out being i have a warranty?
I bought my first new car and made the decision to be a jeep grand cherokee WK laredo 4x4 love the car wanna keep it for a long time but im here worried that stuff might go bad.
Keep it maintained. Don't drive it like it's a race car. It's not a race car. Lol Prevantative maintenance is your best bet. Oil change, air filter, sparkplug coil, etc. When the miles get up to or past 80k use oil treatment and fuel treatment as well as changing the fuel filter. Just my opinion, it has been good to me, but I make sure to take care of it.
@@candace84cnope, that specific dealership doesn’t accept the Carmax warranty but I’m trying a different branch of the dealership and see if they’ll take it
30 thousands miles on my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2018 Altitude. Not even 3 weeks off the lot I have leaks my check Engine light came on. And my u connect keeps glitching
So I have a 2017 grand Cherokee Laredo .purchased with only 45 miles on it brand new in 2017 ! my engine was replaced under 50,000 miles .water pump has broken twice, fuel pump has been replaced twice.I’m also currently having an intermittent starting issue that they cannot replicate when I take it in so they can’t figure out what’s wrong with it.it was also leaking coolant both times my fuel pump was replaced.my drivers side door handle electric is going out,key fob no longer will unlock if it’s next to it,I have to press the u lock for it to open.i literally have a lemon 😭 finally reported to Jeep and waiting for a response ! DO NOT BUY A JEEP! So thankful I had an extended 10 year warranty and my motor went out right before 60,000
Wow, you got the bad egg. I've never heard of Jeep having so many issues. Sometimes, when it's used, it has a lot to do with a previous owners horrible driving. Sorry to hear this!
I have a 2019 Latitude Plus Cherokee Jeep, I noticed when I get in/out of the car my drivers seat like bounces up in the air. When I sit down, I can feel it sink down. I never had this problem before. Please help!!!!!
2018 grand jeep Cherokee altitude I'm having battery issues replaced the battery and now it want start took my car back several times and they can't seem to find what's causing the battery to drain Has this happened to anyone else if so what was the problem
2019 jeep grand cherokee. My screen went out and backup camera won't work!!! its so annoying. also sometimes when im slowing down i feel some kind of jerking when i get ready to stop.
My 2015 Jeep overland ran hot at 70000 miles was told I needed a new motor coolant mixing with fuel . Total bummer I loved my Jeep but switched to Chevy tahoe
This just started happening when I go from park to reverse on my 2017 GCL. Otherwise, she drives smooth. Was anyone able to get information on what was the cause? I took mine to two dealerships, no codes, no answer other than it could be a transmission issue!
@@BJPLIFESTYLE that’s what ours was doing. We just bought it used. 2018. I reset the personal user data and now when i tap “view map” it actually shows a map but it’s stuck somewhere in Maine from the previous user. No clue if the map will actually find a gps signal eventually or if you know if you can drive with the map screen on showing where you are?
Has anyone had issues with connecting your USB cord to your phone....I have android and my jeep has apple play....but I'm an android person. The issue is that it doesn't always stay connected....in watching other sites, need to use high quality cord....could it be the connectivity with the jeep?
My jeep felt like that for a while. It's just going through its break in period I think because it feels much better now. I'm at 12000 miles and also a 2020
I just leased a 2021 Laredo and yeah I noticed at low speeds the transmission feels kinda jerky like its trying to figure out what gear to use. Maybe break in period. Otherwise I love it
hmm I have that at almost 110 000 miles especially summer time, winter time the fluid is thicker so it is less noticeable :) and to the first stop while goes back to 1-st gear shifts in hard, but just the firs stop from starting and driving,
Mines used to do that but then I realized it clicked because I didn't have inserted all the way and it wasn't every time I got gas. You have to push down a little as you put it in and it won't click off at least that's what it was for me. Ever since then I've never had an issue with it.
I have the opposite situation as Deven. If I put it in all the way it stops pumping repetitively. I actually had to pull it back like an inch and it pumps until full, with autostop. I guess you gotta find the sweet spot.
I am planning on looking at and hopefully buying a 2015 grand Cherokee limited edition this weekend. Please what are some issues that have been fixed and things that are still going wrong

2015 Grand Cherokee Summit 5.7
about 91 000 miles - first signs of rear diff fluid change - 1 about 10 000 miles later I changed the fluid and diff is quiet since- Mopar Fluid close to $100 for a 1L (not 1qt) only 1L you need.
about 97 000 miles first problem ever - evap - replaced, about $50 - easy to replace then just you need to reset the code error, I did it with ANCEL AD410 enhanced OBD II.
about 99 000 miles front left control arm replaced - parts about $140 (control arm plus some new bolts and nut, I purchased also ratcheting wrench set for one nut inside the engine bay was hard to access)
Between 101 000 - 102 000 miles all the fluids Changed:
1. Coolant (cooling system flushed) Prestone (GM vehicles, orange cap 5 years/150 000 miles ready to use)
2. Break Fluid changed (should be clear in color if it's fresh) DOT 3 Prestone
3. Power steering fluid (I used Mopar power steering fluid)
4. Transfer Case Fluid (I used mopar fluid)
5. Transmision fluid (Iused mopar - (8 & 9 Speed Transmision Fluid, green in color)
6. Front Diff Fluid (I used mopar fluid)
7. Rear Diff Fluid (I used Mopar fluid)
8. about 109 000 just recently 3 weeks ago 01.04.2022 Radiator leak - tried to seal it with radiator glue but no luck, leak was next to the fan bracket, I just ordered new-replacement $120, OEM is too expensive about $400-$500.
Oil - I use a full synthetic, I had in it Castrol, Mobile 1, Valvoline, Kirkland, Purple Royal and must say the engine works longer quieter on Mobile1, since I noticed I use only Mobile1. (Longer quieter I mean also smoother for longer time, on the other oils let's say I had 40% left before the changing it I could hear clunking noise at start before engine was worm)
Gas- I use a regular gas, on the trip to Florida (NY - Florida) tested on Reg MID and Super, the same exactly 22MPG highway.
What’s your mileage now?
I own a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have only had 2 major problems with it. 1.) ac fan went out $139 total cost of repair @ 57k miles. 2.) oil filter housing $625 to repair @ 96k miles. The mechanic that performed these fixes told me that these cars are made out of plastic heavily under the hood, so when one component made out of plastic like the oil filter housing goes out the other components that are also made out of plastic are bound to follow. Just something to be aware of. Great v6 and transmission tho, that 8 speed 👌🏻
my oil filter housing is cracked too. its like 400$ for the part
It has been working fine for the past 5 years now
@@rick7600 yea I also hit it under the dash as well 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’m going to take it to the shop if I can’t fix it myself
Yeah oil filter housing cracked. They have metal ones on ebay
i've own 2020 limited for over a year, two things 1. the backup camera sometimes does not work and 2. one time got in the jeep and it wouldn't start, got out and back in and it started :)
2016 limited 4x4 had the right front speaker replaced twice. I have 50,000 on it now just replaced water pump. Other then that I love it
I’ve owned my 2018 Laredo since 11/18. At 11k miles the AC broke. It was the evaporator. If not under warranty it would cost $2600! Other than that I love the Jeep. Plan on keeping it a long time.
The parts are so expensive that's why I always recommend the maxcare warranties!
@@BJPLIFESTYLE where you get your parts from?

2014 Overland V8 replaced evaporator core twice by 70k miles. I do live in the Phoenix area if that makes a difference

Bought my 2013 Lorado new. Put 163000 miles on him. Here my few problems
112000m - thermostat
136000m - radiator leaking
141000m - oil pressure sensor
154000m - Random/multiple cylinder misfire code. Replaced coil packs to fix the problem
160000m - Oxygen exhaust sensor
I got a 12 laredo in May of 21 and so far Mines been pretty good. Had 58k miles on it and just hit 70k. One complaint I have so far is I hate the Mercedes trans that's in it
So nothing to fix until 112000m ?
I love this vehicle and do not regret my purchase only where I bought it.
thanks for sharing your experience. Hope things gets sorted out for you soon
So did you get the issues fixed? 2022 grand Cherokee summit reserve had it about two months and has rattling in rear speak and now it want crank
Yup had that same issue with my uconnect was stuck loading and rear view camera was just blue screen . Had to get whole knew screen . Luckily warranty covered it
Good thing for the warranty lol They're not cheap to replace
Very lucky.. $2,200 to replace screen. It has many components attached to it. I am lucky myself I had extended warranty on my 2016 GC Limited. It was pre-owned pre-certified. Have fun with your Jeep.🇺🇸🐻🇺🇸
Had my Uconnect replaced and was covered under Mopar warranty. Have a 2018 altitude only 21k miles and love it!!
Glad to hear you love it!
Just an FYI from a fuel pump tech:
If you’re having issues with the nozzle clicking off over & over, turn the nozzle upside down and insert into the filler neck and fill up. Will work more than not
Best trick in the book
What’s the reason for that😭
Another common issue is the thermostat housing cracking.
Good info!!
Richard R... Please tell me what year and engine. Thanks.. 🇺🇸🐻🇺🇸
@@bigbear5981 I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude Edition with 3.6 V6. I looked at my previous purchase on Amazon and the Mopar part number is 5184651AH. Hope that helps
I used to work at the plant that made those thermostats 😂😂😂😂
Niceeee already enjoying the issues haha
Just purchased a 2018 Grand Cherokee Altitude with 48,000 miles and Engine light came on after having it for 2 days. Code P0456 Evap System small leak and my water pump was leaking, luckily they fixed these problems at no charge. Then when I picked it up, the radio started changing stations without me touching it. So if it keeps doing that I will do a soft reset. Thanks for all the great information on these vehicles. I've also heard that the transmission goes out at some point, fingers crossed mine doesn't. I really love this vechicle!
just got my 2018 grand cherokee n im lovin it

If you don’t mind , how much was the price?
Just got my 2014 Limited GC out the shop yesterday for Evap codes, it happened to be a valve that wasn’t opening and closing properly...80,178 miles it came up to be 580 after taxes
That’s what happened to mines. Did u have anymore problems after
@@magnoliatruckerchick6780 he'll naww but then again it's just my Sunday drive around

Definitely not the reliable vehicle it used to be.

what's the most mileage u can get on a JEEP GRAnD CHEROKEE b4 your transmission or motor goes
Apologize for JEEP, you’re the best especially Laredo 20/12-13❤

So far my 12 laredo has been pretty good! Starting to not like the 5 speed Mercedes trans though it shifts weird and I hate the ratios in it.
I have a 2012 Laredo also.
Bought it in 2015 with 32,000 miles.
Now it has 87,000
Only problem I have had is. My brake booster went on me. Replaced it and all is well.
As a matter of fact, here we are in August 2022 and I still have original battery.
Of course I have done brakes and oil changes all filters when needed.

Replaced spark plugs and the code just disappeared
58,000km Engine mount was leaking and I have to replace it
60,000 km- Just yesterday I changed the Thermostat housing due to a check engine code (like $30 bucks the spare, I did it myself)
I have a weird noise under the truck and it's driving nuts, I can not find the reason, it sounds like a little jingle bell sounding every time I go through bad shape roads or bumps.
Is your uconnect issue the bubble at the corners or across the top? If so there is a $10 fix if you have 3 hours of your own time available.
In my 2018 jeep Cherokee I had been driving with is that my screen says service shifter its took about 8mnths for the dealer to get the part still haven't made an app. Its cost about 350 dollars to replace but mines they went a head and put it under warranty even tho my warranty was up. I bought a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited X 3 days ago. Now that I have it home I noticed quite a bit of wrinkling on the seats. Front and back. Has anyone else had this problem?
If you mean the leather on the side bolstering of the seats looking wrinkly it happens on all of them just due to the materials

So thankful I had an extended 10 year warranty and my motor went out right before 60,000
Also forgot to add when I’m driving and come to a stop my whole car is shaking! So who knows wtf is wrong with it now 😅
Wow, you got the bad egg. I've never heard of Jeep having so many issues. Sometimes, when it's used, it has a lot to do with a previous owners horrible driving. Sorry to hear this!
@@CynthiaVanWinkle-bo4tf crazy part is I bought it brand new off the lot with 45 miles on it.
Oh, that's no good, they better make that one right. I saw 45k.. Best of luck, I hope they take care of you!
I have a 2019 Latitude Plus Cherokee Jeep, I noticed when I get in/out of the car my drivers seat like bounces up in the air. When I sit down, I can feel it sink down. I never had this problem before. Please help!!!!!
2017 , 55000 JGC Limited 3.6. Water pump has been replaced twice.
Anyone has a problem with the 4wd service light for a 2016 jeep grand cherokee high altitude.
Did you recently replace any tires? If so you need to replace all 4 even if one is bad.
2018 grand jeep Cherokee altitude I'm having battery issues replaced the battery and now it want start took my car back several times and they can't seem to find what's causing the battery to drain Has this happened to anyone else if so what was the problem
Yea, my 2011 had a ticker problem, first year for the Pentastar engine I think
Ohhh that's one I forgot the is pentastar knock / tick lol Thanks for mentioning it!!
You need to switch to amsoil 5w30 its a gamechanger
I had a 2012 with that issue too. Was not a cheap fix.
What about the gas meter does your meter kind of bounce after a fill up
It will be 100% full, then show a little under the line after a drive, then when you start it again it’s back at full
Following…. This coming Wednesday might buy 2019 limited with v8 hemi. But it has 71k miles.
2019 jeep grand cherokee. My screen went out and backup camera won't work!!! its so annoying. also sometimes when im slowing down i feel some kind of jerking when i get ready to stop.
Just purchased a 2019 Laredo 40k miles, just noticed the keyless entry isn’t working on the passenger door handle /:
Bring that baby back & get it fixed!
My 2015 Jeep overland ran hot at 70000 miles was told I needed a new motor coolant mixing with fuel . Total bummer I loved my Jeep but switched to Chevy tahoe
Has anyone had a problem with the steering wheel getting stuck in the up position for a couple of days?
I haven’t heard any issues with that!
I've got a 2020 jeep grand cherokee v6 and every morning when i put it into drive or sometimes in reverse i heared cluncking under .
I get a “clunk” either when starting it up or shifting into reverse…it randomly changes but definitely “clunks” every time
This just started happening when I go from park to reverse on my 2017 GCL. Otherwise, she drives smooth. Was anyone able to get information on what was the cause? I took mine to two dealerships, no codes, no answer other than it could be a transmission issue!
@@abigailsinanan9888 is it loud or you can barely hear it?
Same here
Before you put it in park make sure you put it in N and hand break on than put it in park
my 2015 grand Cherokee limited keeps switching from bluetooth to the raid or aux by itself and I dont know what to do
The GPS maps screen takes anywhere between 10 to 30+ seconds sometimes to load up.
My map always throws me in the middle of the ocean it has no idea where I am lol
The comments section here is like a punch list for all the repairs I’ve had done in the last 5 years… sigh
2013 jeep GC Laredo.
Has anyone had issues with connecting your USB cord to your phone....I have android and my jeep has apple play....but I'm an android person. The issue is that it doesn't always stay connected....in watching other sites, need to use high quality cord....could it be the connectivity with the jeep?
Anyone feels like the transmission sometimes when it shifts from 1st gear to 2nd gear feels weird? Kind of laggy. 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee
My jeep felt like that for a while. It's just going through its break in period I think because it feels much better now. I'm at 12000 miles and also a 2020
@@martinnieves1025 That might be it. I just barely hit 8k
I just leased a 2021 Laredo and yeah I noticed at low speeds the transmission feels kinda jerky like its trying to figure out what gear to use. Maybe break in period. Otherwise I love it
Just purchased a 2020 with 60 miles and it does the same in low gear
hmm I have that at almost 110 000 miles especially summer time, winter time the fluid is thicker so it is less noticeable :) and to the first stop while goes back to 1-st gear shifts in hard, but just the firs stop from starting and driving,
2015 JGC, first check engine light came on. Small evap system leak. Gotta locate that. But other than that it’s been solid
Good to hear you haven't had many issues!
Gas cap bro
@@illestferio They’re capless bro, I have the same issue it’s not that
It's a little evap canister that needs replaced or just reset and ignore
Does Jeep cover the screen repair under the warranty if it’s clicking Everywhere?
Yes covered under warranty
I have a 2015 and the thing when your pumping gas and it shuts off after a gallon or 5 gallons like it’s full keeps happening to me
Yeah me too, just flip it upside down and you’re good every time
Mines used to do that but then I realized it clicked because I didn't have inserted all the way and it wasn't every time I got gas.
Did you buy it? Any issues if so?
What do I do about my lift-gate it slams down after you open it the first time, and then it stutters the second time this shit is dangerous
I don't think it's dangerous, it just needs to be replaced probably!
