    This is perfect! Thank you for actually doing a snow review of a car with awd. I live in Alberta and it's so hard to figure out if cars will be good all year round. I currently own an s5 and its ground clearance just barely makes it (parts of the fibreglass underbody are ripped)

    The most sorted, capable car on the planet and it's bullet proof and not temperamental like a Ferrari or Lambo, although the Huracan and 488 seem to be becoming more capable of being a DD if someone wanted too!

    911 Turbo is amazing in every way, except for one thing. And only one thing, but yet so important, the noise. I think if porsche spend more time making the noise better/louder it would sell better imo.

    • @nickbusato7138
      @nickbusato7138 9 лет назад +4

      Chris S If you option it with the sport exhaust its plenty loud. Its always a balance between "fun" and enjoyable on a daily bases. I think Porsche nailed it on the sport exhaust.

    Phenomenal video, Brian! I am really really looking forward to picking up a Porsche (used) when my current lease is up. I am looking at the 991 C4S... Do you think anyone that buys this would always be looking at the Turbo S or the C4 GTS and regret settling for the entry level 911? I would be using it as a daily driver in Montreal.

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  9 лет назад +3

      Thanks! Nah, there's a purity to a base 911 coupe that makes its a special motoring experience. It makes a brilliant daily driver.

    • @nickbusato7138
      @nickbusato7138 9 лет назад +4

      Honestly, so long as ground clearance is not an issue it was the best winter car I have ever driven. To be honest I never once had a single issue with how low it was even with the big snow storm we had. Most people see the car blast by and believe it must be horrible in the snow when in fact it has more traction than pretty much anything.

  • @manygaga1
    @manygaga1 9 лет назад +2

    considering all the reviews I watched of supercars, Porche must be somewhere in the top 3 of best supercars in every way and for a long time (maybe even the number one)

    • @nickbusato7138
      @nickbusato7138 9 лет назад +2

      manygaga1 Having driven almost every "supercar" I can say without question living with the 911 is by far the best. A lot of cars are amazing at being super, the 911 is not only super, but still functional as a car. You can use it rather than having it sit on the trickle charger for most of the year.

    • @nickbusato7138
      @nickbusato7138 9 лет назад +1

      I know we have the M4 convertible coming, but I would rather not compare that to the mustang here on Canadian soil. The M4 vs Mustang GT PP is something I would want to save for the pretty roads of Cali. April is a transient time up here when it all looks super ugly. In terms of our next mustang film it may be the GT350 sate side or at the GT PP here in Canada come spring.

    Great video. I can't wait to watch it in 4k. Your 4k review of the Z07 was visually stunning!
    Speaking of which, assuming you lived in a snow-less region like, say, California :) which one you prefer: the 991 turbo (S or not) or the Z07 ?

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  9 лет назад +3

      You could have one of each, and even if you piled them on top of one another, none of them remotely resembles a 911 Turbo S.

      Brian Makse I know, but as a investor 200,000.00 today could be 40 Million in the future =) I'm still banking your Mustang GT > BMW M4 statement.

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  9 лет назад +3

      Mr Berry Indeed. It's still the way to go. Just don't forget the Mustang's Performance Package option!

    • @nickbusato7138
      @nickbusato7138 9 лет назад +3

      Mr Berry Its funny since the moment me and Brian got out from behind the wheel of the mustang we immediately unanimously compared it to the M4. I was a little scared it may have been honeymoon syndrome. I am happy to report that further drives back here in Canada, even in the Ecoboost, still had me dam impressed.

    • @nickbusato7138
      @nickbusato7138 9 лет назад +2

      Its north east of the GTA, but I cant recommend them at all as "drivers roads." They are unpaved so in the summer its pretty pointless. Its quite pretty in the fall there though. With you being in Etobricoke you are way better off making the trip west to Dundas or north to Erin.

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  9 лет назад +2

      Nick Busato David, things always look better when they're edited well. Nick's right, these aren't really "drivers' roads" by a long shot.

      Not sure if they will do a GTS turbo as the Turbo S is almost like a GTS in that a lot of options on the lower model come as standard on the S.

  • @coureurdebois
    @coureurdebois 9 лет назад +8

    well i still prefer the look and sound of the GT3 over the turbo s.... but the turbo s is such a true supercar and one thats on par with mclaren and ferrari for still less money (still a small value proposition)
    some epic camera work and those snow shots doe.
    but lacking a side profile shot i really wanted to see that :*(

      justin bouche Thanks! The car is simply a blast to drive in the winter, one of, if not the best experiences I have had behind the wheel of a car. We are still sorting out the last of the teething issues with this new camera. With the added completely of snow I think we are really starting to make headroom on coming to terms with it. I believe there should be a 4k version up soon on Brians 4k channel as most of this was shot in UHD. Anything in slow mo however is 1080p upscaled.

    • @Baerchenization
      @Baerchenization 9 лет назад

      madvette98 Porsche advocates that you drive them all year... they are completely sealed, and Porsche gives you what? 10 years warranty against rust? Also, with the thing largely made of aluminium now, it won't rost either way.... and they are definitely daily drivers, always have been. I will get my Boxster GTS 'just in time for winter', and I will daily it :) I don't understand why people aspire to buy a certain car for half their life - and when they finally manage to get it, they don't drive it... yeah, that makes sense...

    • @Thelorenzband9
      @Thelorenzband9 9 лет назад

      Baerchenization I live in Chicago and when you have a nice car like a Porsche and your trying to sell it unfortunately the first thing the customer will ask you: " Is it Garage Kept?" and the second thing they ask is
      "Did you drive it in the winter?" They use heavy salt on our roads! it might be different if you live in a better climate.
      That"s the point I was trying to get across. Most people here in the Chicago land area only drive there valuable cars between May through September or October than it goes into the garage. I know it sucks but that's the way it is!
      But I appreciate your comment and you point of view.

    • @Baerchenization
      @Baerchenization 9 лет назад +1

      madvette98 Well, if they cannot tell whether it was kept in the garage by the looks of it, what the hell are they on about... it is not 1970 anymore, where cars used to fall apart like a moist cookie after six years. Aluminium is extremely oxidising - if you look at a piece of "aluminium", you are in fact not looking at a surface of aluminium at all, but at aluminium-oxide. It will cover itself in a layer of oxide in plain air just like that instantly and thus seal itself off naturally (if you remember your chemistry class). On top of that, it is sealed with a protective coting. If some dumbass suggests that your car is worthless because you drove it during winters, don't even bother with him; he doesn't know what he's talking about in the year 2015. Porsche give you a warranty because they CAN, not because they are happy to replace the entire production after 3 years ;) Oh yeah, in any event, you got that warranty... if you don't have a garage, your soft top might crap out at some point, but probably not by the time you sell it... again, it is not 1970 anymore... I am living in London right now, where EVERYBODY parks their supercars in the street, because it does not matter how rich you are, there are simply no garages in the city center. On the last street I used to live, every other car was a 911, Aston or Maserati... but people also park their Lambos, Ferraris, RRs and Maybachs outside... (mild winters, but still)

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  9 лет назад +1

      +vse0 No, the car had winters on it, but in those sizes, they're barely winter tires. I mean, you can still drive them flat out on the Autobahn, for crying out loud. Truly, the 911 Turbo S has remarkable grip with that all wheel drive system. Truly amazing.
