All good points. I can’t argue with any of that. Thanks for the feedback. We are just a bunch of idiots that like to share our Sunday morning coffee talk. 😁
I am lucky to own both. 991.2 Turbo S and GT3 Touring. I can not decide which one is more fun: 9000rpm of Gt3 or unbelievable torque of Turbo S. Thats why I keep both. TurboS feels a bit more like a supercar due to low rpm torque which is always available, while Gt3 needs revs above 6k.
And there's a place for both - for sure! There really is no right or wrong answer, of course. Different cars with different personalities for different people looking for specific things! :). Thanks for commenting. Cheers!
The GT3 is a very beautiful car and a wonderful track car. However, it’s uncomfortable as hell on the road. The seats suck as do the amenities in it. Yes I know it’s not designed for those things. It’s designed to be on the track. The turbo S hands-down is the winner if you want something overall for a daily, and you only could get one. Going to a track is fun when it’s just not something I would do all the time. Actually, it would be very rare for me. I have a new turbo S that will be here in a couple months. It’s my second one.

Trick question: 997 manual turbo is the answer. best of both worlds... you get maybe the best looking (and definitely best sized) porsche, arguably more analog and raw than modern 992 gt3 and definitely faster with a quick ecu tune. unless you're tracking the car a lot but at that point I might just get a pure track car.
Nothing wrong with that! 997 turbo is a great car. :) The 992 GT3 is also a dream. :). Not sure about the analog comparison but I'd consider the GT3 to be a more pure driving experience...lighter, RWD, chassis, etc... But all great choices here and I admit that I'm a GT car fanboy!!!
Spot on! Owned and driven both cars. A 2015 Turbo S with the PDK and a 2019 GT3 manual (current car). Driven them both hard as one should but the visceral experience in the GT3 with the sounds that it makes and the weight distribution through corners and shifting my own cannot be beaten in my book. While a turbo s (991 and 992) are quicker in top speed and launch, GT3 on the track is quicker (in more capable hands). For reference see (ruclips.net/video/psYWtQvMznA/видео.html) comparison between a car reviewer and a racing driver @ the famous Spa-Francorchamps. Here a heavier but a more powerful Turbo can still shine because of a long uphill as well as the high speed nature of the circuit. GT3 ends up being quicker in more capable hands on the circuit, but a more relaxing long distance GT cruiser.
@@stanmarks3950 i agree gt3 is a serious track weapon but just not have the torque of the turbo engine. once simple stage 1 remap and the gt3 is history even on track. Funny thing is, i own a turbo s but want to change it to the gt3/gt3 rs

Turbo all day for daily driving. I’m not a professional driver and will not be taking my 911 on a track or circuit anytime soon. GT 911’s have great styling but in my opinion they lack the essence of original 911’s. To me GT 911 looks like the boy racer who used to own an Evo or STI in their broke days but now makes six figures. They do sound better though!
Oh man I think because I’m more of a roadtrip and adventure kind of guy, the GT3 Touring but with a. Dakar suspension setup would be the perfect 992 911 for me. But my goal is a GT3 Touring 992 in the future for sure. Turbos are awesome but a bit too subtle for my taste.

@@howellwes i would not go for the touring as it is relatively easy to remove the back wing on the regular GT3. Be sure to test drive one as the suspension is much stiffer compared to the 991.2 GT3, not comfortable for a roadtrip.
Turbo S for me. I want a performance cruiser. If I wanted a track car and would be going to tracks often then I'd buy the gt3 but I don't. Considering I am going to take the vehicle on long cruises all over like all around california, oregon I want to be able to drive 8 hours a day up and down California highway 1 from bay area to San Diego, Lake Tahoe, Napa, nor cal and oregon coast. Cruising in maximum comfort with performance on winding roads.
There nothing like manual GT3 , I 99,9% positive I would get bored with PDK turbo with in few hours, 2 years and 9k mi on my 992 GT3 and I get goosebumps every time I get in it. Absolutely on target!

Congrats! Sounds like you've had similar experiences as some of us. Jeff just bought that GT4RS. We need to get him on camera to compare that to his GT3...He's got some other interesting cars coming too!
I went from a GT3 to a Turbo S. The GT car beat the living hell out of me. The ride was brutal. I thought my fillings would come out! LOL. The Turbo S is firm, but livable, much more livable on a daily basis. Guess I’m an old man! LOL.
Doesn't matter. There is no right or wrong answer just different preferences for different personalities. Easy to answer. If I'm single, or I like driving without the S.O. (alone time), then GT3 easily. If I have an S.O. who I enjoy sharing my trips with? Turbo S easily.
if i had the budget for it i would much rather a gt3 but a turbo is more doable if your ballin on a budget. if anyone on here knows where to find gt3s for a good price online please commment!! p.s speedepic your channel is way over due, love your content brother

I've owned both .... both are great cars....it all depends on what you are looking for!? and how you want to drive.....1 car is not better than another
Turbo plumbing diminishes other desirable engine sounds. Now if you no longer possess ability to hear those, or don’t care, then hyperspace launch of Turbo is amusing. In my case, far prefer NA motors and linear responses at lower speeds vs incredible passing power of turbo engines. Now if I were buying new would I avoid a 992 Carrera T manual? Of course not.
Living in the UK the GT3 RS was not practical as a regular road car. Nothing like being out in the pouring rain with Cup2 tyres! Also, the state of UK roads also made the RS just less fun than it should have been. Turbo S is fabulous and I have the Cayman R for the track - the best handling Porsche of the lot, albeit not the fastest.
Best of both worlds would be 997.1/2 turbo 6spd. Power and comfort of a turbo with Rawness ans analog feel of a GT3. Metzger engine sounds with a exhaust
No wrong answer here. I actually slightly prefer PDK in the GT3 but was happy to switch things up and go with a manual in my 992. It is absolutely SUBLIME.
I have a 600hp r32 gtr, then decided i needed something with a pdk. I test drove my friends 991.1 GT3 and yes it was nice but it felt slow... so i ended up buying a turbo s. no regrets. but after a week I felt numb to the power... its now booked in for a 750whp bolt on kit. it should be fun and make all the right noises.
I would get the Turbo S Cabriolet and I would buy 911 GT3 RS wheels and tires from Porsche direct and put them on my Turbo s911. To give it that wide body GT3 stance
It is heavier and on the track it is noticeable. However, on the road a bit of weight helps stabilise the car against the real world crap roads. Too light and the potholes, bumps and ridges will knock the car off course. Just my 2 cents worth
The GT3 only makes sense if you want to use it primarily(=90% of the time) for track days and canyon runs & twisty roads. For daily usage, and freeway driving, the Turbo S is far superior.
I've put 8k miles on mine in the past year... and they've all been wonderful. If I want something for daily and freeway driving...I'll drive the Audi. :)
Its not about whats faster, its about the experience... the way the car responds and sounds and how the materials of the interior and looks of exterior make you feel.... ultimately both cars are equally amazing but worlds apart
I think the turbo and turbo s were meant to be a little more of a daily driver, especially if you're driving it everyday and live somewhere where you need all-wheel drive and are too lazy to buy winter tires like myself LOL. Never personally driven a GT 3 or GT 2... Maybe one day 🤞
What steps can I take to afford a GT2/3? I currently make 6 figs as an engineer in an expensive area and trade stocks (mainly options) but still feel like I can't afford this lifestyle yet.
I have had driven both, they both have their pros and cons, but ultimately I prefer the Turbo S. Unless you are tracking it weekly the Turbo S is a daily-driver supercar that I get far more enjoyment from every day
You don't need to track a GT3 in order to appreciate the lighter chassis, engine and intake noises, more nimble handling and the more visceral driving experience. Of course it comes down to personal preference and I'm glad you're loving your car. The Turbo is exceptional. I'll take the daily driving experience of the GT3 any day- but I guess it comes down to what you're looking for. :)
I find this mildly insulting. I’m 77 years old and taken multiple track racing programs. I drive with a group of talented guys all with GT3 or GTS cars. My car is a 997.1 with manual transmission, the oldest car with the oldest driver. That being said, when we figure out the order regarding who should be leading,, I am usually in the top three or four. Just because you’re old doesn’t mean you can’t drive well and fast.
I love guys like this, they take the initial depreciation on the car and then I scoop them up with low miles and usually $30k to $40k less than they paid. Did just that on a Turbo S. Rule number 1 - don’t buy from online auction sites, way too much hype and testosterone pumping up the prices. Rule number 2 - Just keep a watch on the Porsche finder that lists all available cars at Porsche dealers, you will be amazed at the opportunities and you won’t pay auction fees.
How do you know how "guys like this" buy their cars? You know nothing about us.... I've done very well on my GT cars even making 50k on one of them...and lost very little on my Turbo.
GT3 if you like emotion, turbo s if you want a rocket. Gt3 is plenty quick, holds value better, sounds better, NA engine. Gt3 is best car ever made imo and i hope i will buy it soon
GT3 2024 looks ridiculous IMO, not a practical car for daily use, it's more for going to the track the weekends, it's like having a MV Augusta F4 or a BMW S1000 RR for street use. By other hand the Turbo S is like a MV Augusta Brutale RR or a Ducati Monster plus, they have the power and don't look ridiculous on the Costco parking lot.
Gt3 is actually not uncomfortable with standard seats. Actually smoother and more fun to drive than the 911T 992. The T makes crappy sounds and is very uncomfortable on the road. The Pdk gt3 is an emotional ride at high rpm’s.
Guys, while I'd love to share my thoughts on gt3 v turbo s, I need to know which wheels are on the black 991.2 turbo s pictured in this video! Please can someone tell me exactly what they are? I'm sick of putting up with porsche turbo wheels. By the way turbo all the way....had both, agin and again, for every day needs and thrills, turbo! My tack days are done though so I don't need the versatility for that. Wheels please someone! 🙏
Why are these guys so serious looking? Felt like an interrogation instead of a discussion. And wearing all black like their cool teenagers or something. These middle aged men need to grow up.
I am an old GT3 series racer. I will guarantee I can take a Porsche Turbo S and embarrass these guys in their GT's. Only a superior racer can take advantage of the track characteristics of the Porsche GT cars. In 99% of other instances the lower end power and greater top end will give the advantage to the Porsche Turbo S.
For some, sure.. Jeff had both and preferred the GT3 on the track. More linear, better sound....more enjoyable to get the most out of it on the track..

Thank you for the kind words. It's been a crapload of work to get the content to where it is... We didn't want to just blab about random stuff for 90 mins! We'll see where it goes. Thanks for chiming in!!
Absolutely!!! :) Cheers!
Don't forget about the 997 RS! I so wish I would have bought that car and kept it!
@@speedepic me too. But thats out the realm for me now. Easier for me to get a 991.2 GT3
Anyone know what wheels were on his previous Black 991 turbo S.
looked great!
Brixton Forged. I can’t remember the specialty finished but I’m sure you can find out from Brixton. They really were epic wheels
I had a 997 turbo and 991 gt3 now love the gt3 but miss the manual
The real question is 6 speed or PDK? Wes was all about the PDK but your newest toy is manual! What changed?
No wrong answer here. I actually slightly prefer PDK in the GT3 but was happy to switch things up and go with a manual in my 992. It is absolutely SUBLIME.
I have a 600hp r32 gtr, then decided i needed something with a pdk. I test drove my friends 991.1 GT3 and yes it was nice but it felt slow... so i ended up buying a turbo s. no regrets. but after a week I felt numb to the power... its now booked in for a 750whp bolt on kit. it should be fun and make all the right noises.
Nice! Sounds like you’re having a lot of fun with your cars. That’s the name of the game! 😊
@@howellwes thanks! I find it hard to keep a car stock 😅
I would get the Turbo S Cabriolet and I would buy 911 GT3 RS wheels and tires from Porsche direct and put them on my Turbo s911. To give it that wide body GT3 stance
Turbo is portly compared to the GT3. Weight is such a difference maker in terms of fun to drive.
It is heavier and on the track it is noticeable. However, on the road a bit of weight helps stabilise the car against the real world crap roads. Too light and the potholes, bumps and ridges will knock the car off course. Just my 2 cents worth
At 170 plus… I’d much rather be in the turbo!! But the GT3 is much more exhilarating!!
@@howellwes Exactly. If you have a car for daily, than the GT3 is a no brainer.
Try Cryoto
Not sure which 6 figures you’re making but you need at least 6 figs starting with a 3 not a 1 or even 2.
I am sure people daily the GT3, but, I don’t think I would daily a GT3. Turbo all day. I’m in Texas and I want vent seats in a daily.
Why cant I have both? In fact Ive 3GT’s and a TurboS.
To me I go for Turbo S because I want to use it for every day
I find this mildly insulting.
There was no part of it that was a dig against older people. Glad you’re out having fun and kicking ass on the track!
Gt3MR?
What wheels are on the black Turbo S?
There is nothing like driving or even riding in a GT car!
Amen brother!
Ha…911 Turbo S for this Old Lady!
Hahahaha. 😂
Who makes the wheels you put on the turbo S please
@brixtonforged Give those guys a call - they are perfectionists and continually improve their designs and fit.
Any GT car over turbo.
True cognoscenti buy just the turbo, not the S, in understated colors
What age is considered old?
Is 34 considered old if u like the 911 turbo cars 😢
My GT3 looks fantastic at Costco!!!
Gt3 is actually not uncomfortable with standard seats. Actually smoother and more fun to drive than the 911T 992. The T makes crappy sounds and is very uncomfortable on the road. The Pdk gt3 is an emotional ride at high rpm’s.
The only other car I'd buy again is a GT350R.
Does it really freakin' matter? To each their own preference (@3:23) They are all awesome.
I guess it might matter if you were in the market to buy one.
Thanks, you helped me make up my mind, between the GT3 and a 911 Turbo S. Just need crypto to come back from the dead.
I’ll take a turbo s any day a simple tune intake exhaust turbo can be at 800hp
Guys, while I'd love to share my thoughts on gt3 v turbo s, I need to know which wheels are on the black 991.2 turbo s pictured in this video! Please can someone tell me exactly what they are? I'm sick of putting up with porsche turbo wheels. By the way turbo all the way....had both, agin and again, for every day needs and thrills, turbo! My tack days are done though so I don't need the versatility for that. Wheels please someone! 🙏
Brixton Forged. Cheers!!
Im 46. Sold my GT3 for Turbo S Cab. Would do it again. Turbo S is 99% of time a much beteter car.
Why are these guys so serious looking? Felt like an interrogation instead of a discussion. And wearing all black like their cool teenagers or something. These middle aged men need to grow up.
911 turbo s
No wrong answers! Thanks for watchin'!
I’ve got the gt3 touring manual & it’s far superior to the turbo as in you can’t use all the power in the turbo
GT all the way!!!
Hell yeah brother!!!! 😁💯🤙
Porsche doesn't make dragsters. They're all about performance and that means cornering on rails.
Gt all the way
Aint no doubt about it!! Thanks for watching!
Roads in America are so bad that you’re going to be beat up in any GT3
I’ve put 8k on mine in the last year. Zero issues with roads.
GT2RS is the answer if u cant decide on either both.
Nice job editing the title! Grammar
It's actually called a typo. But thanks for the heads up douchebag.
And like the guy with the beard is not an old man???
He's not even 40! What are you 14? :)
You betcha.....😊
An old guy saying old guys drive Turbo S cars! Comical
If you’re over 40 years old, driving a GT car it doesn’t look right.
Turbo all the way!!!
I’ll take a rwd evo over both
Little boys drive GT3
Only the lucky ones!!
Correction, "rich old men" 😆
Turbo s all day every day
Turbo s looks better. But I am 51 😎
F Type Jaguars are for old men.
The answer is to buy a GT2
For some, sure.. Jeff had both and preferred the GT3 on the track. More linear, better sound....more enjoyable to get the most out of it on the track..
Turbo S camp for me
