@@micellaragua True true. But Heath was B-Troupe and Xander was J-Troupe, so they didn't help the team qualify...although I'm glad that Xander "worked his way up" like Noah and Richelle did. Although with less screentime and I honestly think more of us thought Presley was gonna make A-Troupe, not Xander.

I felt like it wasn't a real trailer, but more as you said at the beginning a video where they put a bunch of shots (maybe some won't even be in the season) and put it together with a voiceover. I really liked TNS but since season 7 I think it misses something. Season 8 was definitely better than season 7 and I liked that we got a goodbye for the people who were there since a few seasons. But with Kenzie being the only one staying from season 6 and the cast constantly being replaced, it doesn't help liking the characters. Like in season 2 we got auditions. We lost a few members, but we kept a lot of the cast. Even if some weren't in the troop. Then in season 3, new cast, but some people were still there and some just appeared a few times at well. But the more we progress, the hardest it is to have an attachment to the characters. Most of this A troop appeared in season 8. And for those who were in season 7, they were in B troop and the focus wasn't really on them, since they decided to do this show... I kinda miss having characters sticking around. I'm happy to see Izzy, Kenzie, Ethan, Winnie or Pete who were in seasons 6/7 but do I feel the same things for them than for Michelle, Eldon, Thalia, Riley, James or even Ozzy, Richelle, Kingston, Lily...? No. Because we didn't get to spend time with them. In the older season, we got arcs to develop the characters. But season 7 wasn't centered around the B troop ; season 8-a was more about Richelle and the other (not really a complain because I liked this better than season 7) and when 8-b came some characters were the focus (Kenzie, Heath, Daisy, Jude), some had a few minutes in an episode about them, but it didn't really make them likebale for me. The babysitting thing was a nice focus but then it was resolved pretty quickly. Dylan's sister being famous and at nationals was just a random thing that happened once. Same for Anthony and the choreography thing with Jude. It was too small, it didn't let us know them and sometimes it made them unlikeable (I don't care about half the troop. Dylan, Xander, Anthony, Jett... Like they could go and I wouldn't be mad). The point is, TNS doesn't really feel like TNS anymore. Maybe it's because the seasons were shortened, or the fact that they are reusing plots... But that's how I feel...
they are reusing the amanda storyline of her trying to take down tns and to make sure they do go to nationals but with grace and trying to make sure they dont go to internationals kinda mad but slay
I think one of the big things for me is that plots are being reused. It’s very obvious that’s they’re going to go down the Amanda route with Grace so it just feels like we can already predict what will happen because we’ve experienced it before. From season 1-6 (more specifically 1-3) the plot lines were so fresh and exciting and we actually had time to learn about each character individually. However this A-troupe for me cannot even compare the the past troupes and we haven’t really had a chance to connect with any of the new characters. Also in the earlier seasons you could really feel the intensity of the drama that would happen and how important preparing for the competitions were but when they show us a grain of a dance that doesn’t really look up to par with what we’ve seen in the past that’s pretty much impossible. I just miss when they didn’t put in irrelevant plot lines that didn’t add to the characters’ personality or got resolved in one episode. And I agree with you 😭 the camera angles and filming style are not doing it for me at all. It just all feels a little bit rushed to me I don’t know. Like I wouldn’t mind at all to wait an extra year if it meant that the (possibly) last season of the entire series was of good quality, with well thought out plot lines. But of course I’ll still watch season 9 because i didn’t get this far for me not to:/
Diehard s1-3 fan here - it’s obviously sad to see the show change and be a lot different however they might aswell just make seasons if there’s an audience for it , but I hope the viewers enjoy it
I'm a bit mixed. I do hope they thought of the "tearing TNS" stuff out well and make it fresh and exciting and not just make it 90% the same as in S2. I am quite excited to know who Nick is calling in the end. And I hope for some old characters to make an appearance. Wonder if it's going to be the last season and if so, I hope it'll end amazing. Nonetheless, I am excited!
I don’t think anyone should be bothered about them reusing old plots because from the writer’s perspective this show is aimed at kids so it’s likely that the majority of the current audience has not seen the older seasons
thing is, they bring back old characters all the time, so the writers have surely got to cater to older fans and newer fans 😭 and also, im pretty sure any TNS fan, even the current audience knows who Amanda, Emily, Michelle and eldon are (just to name a few) like they are proper icons, and in the era of streaming where you can literally watch from season 1, it's pretty much guaranteed that the audience of TNS will have watched the past seasons. that's why I actually liked the mole storyline from season 8 because it was new and fresh, but the whole idea of grace comingnin and making sure that TNS don't make it to internationals is just giving recycled season 2 plot with Amanda I'm gonna be so real 😭
@juliawilliams789 Agreed! Also, the writers AND CBBC KNOWS how much we love the OGs. They promoted Season 8 with JILEY; remember Myles and his shade on his TikTok and Insta? Jiley aren't even IN Season 8. We get like two seconds of James mentioning him and Riley living in NY, which the writers KNEW would make us all happy, the views on their vid of that on the TNS TikTok are higher than a LOT of other things they post. CBBC was trying to convince the OG fans to watch the newest season (not that I blame them, cuz smart promoting tactic), but yeah, the writers know they have to cater to both types of fans. Having Michelle mention Emily and Riley and having James mention him and Riley and having Eldon mention Thalia is like...feeding us OG fans crumbs.😂😂😂 The writers can't just reuse everything...they've tried and that's not good...remember the mess of Season 4 with reused plot stories? Seasons 5 and 6 had much newer storylines and that made those seasons much better.
Also, I don't know why TNS is not posting anything on their RUclips. Season 8 was missing a lot of the Extended Dances and Behind the Scenes. They haven't had this little YT stuff since Season 1. Seasons 6 and 7 were peak for BTS and Seasons 2-7 had a LOT of different iterations of BTS stuff.

I'm looking forward to watching Season 9 of The Next Step. My guess is that Dylan is on tour with her sister Margo after they had an interaction at Nationals. I hope we see Nick being involved more as the Studio Owner since Season 8A, he wasn't doing much. I'm looking forward watching the incredible dances and what the Internationals would look like. I'm not sure about the plot that Grace will be doing, she wants to take down The Next Step. I hope we see Winnie more.

I’ve read through the one sheet and the PowerPoint of the next step on the production website, it says season 9 is coming in spring to tie. in with the 10th anniversary on cbbc so I’m guess early April since that’s when ep 1 of s1 aired. It also said there would be special content for the 10th anniversary so I’m hoping for og cast interviews reflecting on their time on tns
They did that for the 200th celebration episodes though...Alex B and Vic for S1, Logan and Jennie for S2, Isaac and Jordan for S3, Alex C and Shelby for S4, Isaiah and Noah for S5, Briar and Myles for S6, Katie and Sage for S7. Unless they're gonna get people we HAVEN'T had recently, like Britt, Trev, Lamar, Brennan, Sam, Taveeta maybe it wouldn't be very different...and I don't know...either Britt is gonna lie through her teeth about Jiley or they're not gonna bring it up, but I don't know how they can give interviews WITHOUT talking about that, given that even in the 200th celebration episodes, Alex B, Vic, Alex C and Shelby were all talking about Jiley in Seasons 1 and 4...Don't get me wrong, I want OG cast interviews and stuff too, I just don't know how different they would be from the 200th episode celebration episodes that we already got.
I think it's definitely lacking white walls and Talking Heads...and I feel like they're gonna have more surprise cameos from the OGs (or at least they should) because Vic and Isaac already posted about theirs openly (Myles posted about Isaac's and Eldon appears in the trailer) so I hope they're holding something back. This is giving very Season 3 vibes with Ultra Elite returning to take down TNS...I hope that it's going to have some fresh stuff cuz S8B already felt quite recycled...🤔

@@ferretferr5600 I think it's going to be Ms Kate, but I think it's also possible it could be Emily because he knows her. I doubt it's James because Nick doesn't know James aside from him being Piper's older brother (we had like 1 minute of him in Season 8 when he was inviting Piper to live with him and Riley in NY). If we're lucky, we'll get Emily and Michelle cameo-ing at the same time (we know Vic is coming back). But yeah, I really miss the other OGs we haven't seen in forever, I miss James and Riley, I miss West...we've seen Giselle recently and we're definitely getting Michelle and Eldon back, but yeahhh I miss the OGs. 😭
I personally think the next step has been lacking an “umph”. Like I want more drama and relationships (I know the characters are new and all but the show feels a bit fake for me rn idk)
I mainly want a more exciting and varied season with episodes in different locations so that we know that the dancers don't just live in studio A. But with only 22 episodes this seems unlikely unfortunately.

Although since it only has 22 episodes which is obviously very less I’m thinking this season will be them “qualifying” for internationals or something. Because in season 5 we had abt 22ish episodes and all we got at the end was the qualifier video. So maybe not necessarily qualifying since they won nationals but maybe something else around those lines. Tns will probably want to win internationals in the 10th big season is what I’m thinking.
few thoughts from the trailer, im gonna be open minded too but im just a bit wary of the way the camera angles are 😭, its feels a bit behind the scenes-ish rather than the camera panning out and filming the dances like it usually does. I will say the cafe looks pretty good, i love the diner vibe, and I also love the fits it's giving bright colours and season 1 outfit vibes. kinda upset that it's only 22 episodes, because internationals usually takes 5 episodes of the season, so does that mean only 17 episodes to build up to internationals 😭. something is telling me that they're not going to actually go to internationals this season, so it's gonna be a bit like season 5 and the video but in this instance, they compete in the challenges and then internationals will actually be seen in season 10, where the show will end, which makes me sad, but it's definitely coming one day 😭 eldon of course has to make an appearance haha, but something is telling me nick is calling Michelle, but im curious as to how ms Kate will be in season 9, unless they're setting up a lucien vs Kate rematch again haha, with ultra elite vs TNS. gonna be fully honest here, the promotion for this season has really flopped imo, like we've got no news ahead of anything or any behind the scenes or official posts on CBBC or on any of TNS's socials. and that one random cast announcement video for Adele was a bit odd, especially as I was expecting a whole series with the new characters, but it was just a standalone video 😭 but like always, ready to watch with an open mind and I really hope they actually make it to internationals because the competition episodes are my favourite. exciting times ;)

Omg! I’m so over the “tearing TNS from the inside” storyline but as long as Kenzie, Heath, Xander, Anthony and Ebby are on the International team it’s all good. If it’s “potentially” the final season I kind of want it to be grand and push the show to its limit as well as many cameos from the OG’s!

My guess with the trailer is that you were right with the funding guess. The link is to the Boat Rocker site rather than CBBC or like TNS posting it on their RUclips channel. The two other clickable buttons on the show page were all about promotion and what the show was about. We may still get a whitewall trailer (although I'm not holding my breath on that one) but there might be a more put together trailer, or a higher quality version of this one as the "official" trailer from CBBC.
It says that S9 is coming out in April in the UK. No news for when the relese date in Australia is... 🙄😒😮💨 Probably a few months after the UK, but I don't know. Let me know please!

I don't think this is the first time we see a dancer looking at the camera and interacting with it during a dance, pretty sure James did that during season 3 (and maybe Riley)
Given that the trailer isn’t available anymore, I assume they still need to polish it up which explains why the audio quality was uneven. So we’ll probably get a slightly updated version of the same trailer just before Spring arrives. I saw the trailer before it was removed. This basically implies or even confirms that Daisy, Xander and Jude aren’t sticking around based on that new lineup on the RB website. No surprise that Grace is the new Amanda so it’s pretty much a retread of Season 3 which is a bit disappointing but it was expected. I can only hope it can at least still feel a bit more different though. I feel like they shouldn’t completely copy the Amanda thing exact. They should have some differing factors to make it less copied. Seems like something is going on with Pete and Kenzie might be forced to depart not by her own choice. And I get the feeling that Nick may be calling Miss Kate for assistance. The camera work definitely feels different. I’m not sure what to make of it. And the fact that S9 has 5 less episodes than Season 8 makes me nervous too. Could possibly be budget cuts affecting the show or it’s possibly another set up to wrap up the show for next season but I guess we won’t know for sure until it finally airs. Regarding Richelle’s absence, I get the feeling she might be a recurring character who will show up a few times, possibly with Ozzy. Who knows. I imagine we’ll get an update on her since she said she wanted to stay around for a while. Hopefully Maria shows up in this season too as she’s vital for this plan with Grace. Nice to see Winnie will still be involved in the show. I’ll probably wait till CBBC releases the official trailers including the white walls. I’m kinda nervous cause this almost feels like a transitional season as it’s giving a bit of Season 5 vibes. I’m not getting final season vibes from this yet. So far, it just seems like business as usual. But 22 episodes doesn’t seem like enough for Internationals either so I’m curious to how this will play out.
I hope they'll make Michelle appear as a guest star in this season as well, since she has now become the only character to appear in every previous season (although they would have been better off having Emily appear as a guest star too, in my opinion).

I think that internationals will not happen and the ending will be similar to season 5. The creators will then use this as an excuse to make season 10 so that the show does not end.
Season 9 will be better than last! Even though it’s 22 episodes it seems it will be rushed. Like why can’t it be 30 like the last internationals. Nick was probably calling either Emily or Mrs. Kate. And hopefully Eldon is not running ultra elite that would be wild. I’m soo ready for this season though!!

at the end kenzie said “i really wish i didn’t have to go” and she had a bag so i feel like she will be the one leaving to go to the other studio, or like the dance captions have to go, and that’s why she said “have to go” like she didn’t have a choice. !
The second I opened the trailer my first immediate thought was "this seems different". The trailer and the vibe of the show based off the trailer feels a lot different to how the show normally is. Not sure how I feel about Grace doing a season 2 Amanda, or basically reusing that entire storyline, kind of wish they came up with a different way to have a villain be a point of conflict for a-troupe. I'm a little confused on the Internationals partnering, but I guess it will make more sense once we see it play out.
I just think this trailer didn't reveal enough. Half (or more) of it was dancing, and I didn't learn many new things about what will happen in the season (especially because we all knew there'd be some sort of situation with TNS and Ultra Elite). I hope we get other trailers soon, so we can find out things that we don't already know.
i think what most annoys me is that the show doesn't seem to really care about the dance element anymore? like before it made sense who got onto a troupe because they were the best dancers but now it does feel like the quality of dance has gone down in favour of drama? like if you compare michelle and giselle to,,, dylan and jett? there's a lot less versatility, a lot of them are just hip hop dancers now whereas before they could all do everything
Suggestion🫶 maybe you can do a video placing characters in lines (front, middle and back row) based on their dance ability seasons 1-8 (all the A Troupes).
I was thinking the same thing when I first watched the trailer, the dancing was off, it looked like it was filmed on a phone. It Is gettting way to repetitive with the whole ultra elite/elite thing and the whole Amanda mole thing. I feel that this show has so much more to give instead of being super repetitive.

I honestly think this is the last season. (Given there are less episodes and that has been done to several other shows in the last season afaik) Maybe Grace sabotages the studio and it has to close, but the dancers still go to international?
I miss the old seasons and the old characters from seasons 1-6 i did watch up to seasons 8, but i mainly preferred s7 and that's it. I remember when i was younger the next step was a much more overrated and popular series and many ppl have said the show kind of went "down hill" but they cannot keep all the old characters bc if everything is the same it will just be boring which is true. I dunno i just preferred the old studio A and the old vibes, see lately now the next step has become very underrated me and my sister grew up with the O.G the next step expect for my sister only watched up to season 4 she did not watch any other seasons cuz of the change of it but i did❤ well see is s9 is gonna Eat or not?❤❤
I think your view of Richelle has changed, I mean going back and watching your old videos it seems that way. I don't think I'm far off saying you no longer like her character. ( If I'm wrong I am sorry but it's just the vibe you give off, sorry just bugs me.) looking over the new A-Troupe my fav is Izzy hands down she's a great dancer.

I felt like it wasn't a real trailer, but more as you said at the beginning a video where they put a bunch of shots (maybe some won't even be in the season) and put it together with a voiceover.
I really liked TNS but since season 7 I think it misses something. Season 8 was definitely better than season 7 and I liked that we got a goodbye for the people who were there since a few seasons.
But with Kenzie being the only one staying from season 6 and the cast constantly being replaced, it doesn't help liking the characters.
Like in season 2 we got auditions. We lost a few members, but we kept a lot of the cast. Even if some weren't in the troop.
Then in season 3, new cast, but some people were still there and some just appeared a few times at well.
But the more we progress, the hardest it is to have an attachment to the characters. Most of this A troop appeared in season 8. And for those who were in season 7, they were in B troop and the focus wasn't really on them, since they decided to do this show...
I kinda miss having characters sticking around. I'm happy to see Izzy, Kenzie, Ethan, Winnie or Pete who were in seasons 6/7 but do I feel the same things for them than for Michelle, Eldon, Thalia, Riley, James or even Ozzy, Richelle, Kingston, Lily...? No. Because we didn't get to spend time with them.
In the older season, we got arcs to develop the characters. But season 7 wasn't centered around the B troop ; season 8-a was more about Richelle and the other (not really a complain because I liked this better than season 7) and when 8-b came some characters were the focus (Kenzie, Heath, Daisy, Jude), some had a few minutes in an episode about them, but it didn't really make them likebale for me. The babysitting thing was a nice focus but then it was resolved pretty quickly.
Dylan's sister being famous and at nationals was just a random thing that happened once.
Same for Anthony and the choreography thing with Jude.
It was too small, it didn't let us know them and sometimes it made them unlikeable (I don't care about half the troop. Dylan, Xander, Anthony, Jett... Like they could go and I wouldn't be mad).
The point is, TNS doesn't really feel like TNS anymore. Maybe it's because the seasons were shortened, or the fact that they are reusing plots... But that's how I feel...
they are reusing the amanda storyline of her trying to take down tns and to make sure they do go to nationals but with grace and trying to make sure they dont go to internationals kinda mad but slay

I just feel like I’ve outgrown it. It’s just all changed too quick, there was no period of phasing
I think one of the big things for me is that plots are being reused. It’s very obvious that’s they’re going to go down the Amanda route with Grace so it just feels like we can already predict what will happen because we’ve experienced it before. From season 1-6 (more specifically 1-3) the plot lines were so fresh and exciting and we actually had time to learn about each character individually. However this A-troupe for me cannot even compare the the past troupes and we haven’t really had a chance to connect with any of the new characters. Also in the earlier seasons you could really feel the intensity of the drama that would happen and how important preparing for the competitions were but when they show us a grain of a dance that doesn’t really look up to par with what we’ve seen in the past that’s pretty much impossible. I just miss when they didn’t put in irrelevant plot lines that didn’t add to the characters’ personality or got resolved in one episode. And I agree with you 😭 the camera angles and filming style are not doing it for me at all. It just all feels a little bit rushed to me I don’t know. Like I wouldn’t mind at all to wait an extra year if it meant that the (possibly) last season of the entire series was of good quality, with well thought out plot lines. But of course I’ll still watch season 9 because i didn’t get this far for me not to:/

Diehard s1-3 fan here - it’s obviously sad to see the show change and be a lot different however they might aswell just make seasons if there’s an audience for it , but I hope the viewers enjoy it
I'm a bit mixed. I do hope they thought of the "tearing TNS" stuff out well and make it fresh and exciting and not just make it 90% the same as in S2. I am quite excited to know who Nick is calling in the end. And I hope for some old characters to make an appearance. Wonder if it's going to be the last season and if so, I hope it'll end amazing. Nonetheless, I am excited!

I don’t think anyone should be bothered about them reusing old plots because from the writer’s perspective this show is aimed at kids so it’s likely that the majority of the current audience has not seen the older seasons
thing is, they bring back old characters all the time, so the writers have surely got to cater to older fans and newer fans 😭
and also, im pretty sure any TNS fan, even the current audience knows who Amanda, Emily, Michelle and eldon are (just to name a few) like they are proper icons, and in the era of streaming where you can literally watch from season 1, it's pretty much guaranteed that the audience of TNS will have watched the past seasons. that's why I actually liked the mole storyline from season 8 because it was new and fresh, but the whole idea of grace comingnin and making sure that TNS don't make it to internationals is just giving recycled season 2 plot with Amanda I'm gonna be so real 😭

@juliawilliams789 Agreed! Also, the writers AND CBBC KNOWS how much we love the OGs. They promoted Season 8 with JILEY; remember Myles and his shade on his TikTok and Insta? Jiley aren't even IN Season 8. We get like two seconds of James mentioning him and Riley living in NY, which the writers KNEW would make us all happy, the views on their vid of that on the TNS TikTok are higher than a LOT of other things they post. CBBC was trying to convince the OG fans to watch the newest season (not that I blame them, cuz smart promoting tactic), but yeah, the writers know they have to cater to both types of fans. Having Michelle mention Emily and Riley and having James mention him and Riley and having Eldon mention Thalia is like...feeding us OG fans crumbs.😂😂😂 The writers can't just reuse everything...they've tried and that's not good...remember the mess of Season 4 with reused plot stories? Seasons 5 and 6 had much newer storylines and that made those seasons much better.
Also, I don't know why TNS is not posting anything on their RUclips. Season 8 was missing a lot of the Extended Dances and Behind the Scenes. They haven't had this little YT stuff since Season 1. Seasons 6 and 7 were peak for BTS and Seasons 2-7 had a LOT of different iterations of BTS stuff.

And yesssss agreed they're bringing back my love for TNS...and for SURE making me miss the OGs more and more.😭 I want another reunion like the xmas special, but I genuinely don't know what they can do to HAVE a reunion cuz they've done Christmas, Halloween, What If...? etc. Only thing that hasn't been done is a wedding and dear lord, unless it's like confirmed the last last LAST episode of the whole show or like, they're doing a major favour for Amy or something, I don't know if Britt and Trev would do it. I hope we see Nick being involved more as the Studio Owner since Season 8A, he wasn't doing much. I'm looking forward watching the incredible dances and what the Internationals would look like. I'm not sure about the plot that Grace will be doing, she wants to take down The Next Step. I hope we see Winnie more.

I’ve read through the one sheet and the PowerPoint of the next step on the production website, it says season 9 is coming in spring to tie. in with the 10th anniversary on cbbc so I’m guess early April since that’s when ep 1 of s1 aired. It also said there would be special content for the 10th anniversary so I’m hoping for og cast interviews reflecting on their time on tns
They did that for the 200th celebration episodes though...Alex B and Vic for S1, Logan and Jennie for S2, Isaac and Jordan for S3, Alex C and Shelby for S4, Isaiah and Noah for S5, Briar and Myles for S6, Katie and Sage for S7. Unless they're gonna get people we HAVEN'T had recently, like Britt, Trev, Lamar, Brennan, Sam, Taveeta maybe it wouldn't be very different...and I don't know...either Britt is gonna lie through her teeth about Jiley or they're not gonna bring it up, but I don't know how they can give interviews WITHOUT talking about that, given that even in the 200th celebration episodes, Alex B, Vic, Alex C and Shelby were all talking about Jiley in Seasons 1 and 4...Don't get me wrong, I want OG cast interviews and stuff too, I just don't know how different they would be from the 200th episode celebration episodes that we already got.
I think it's definitely lacking white walls and Talking Heads...and I feel like they're gonna have more surprise cameos from the OGs (or at least they should) because Vic and Isaac already posted about theirs openly (Myles posted about Isaac's and Eldon appears in the trailer) so I hope they're holding something back. This is giving very Season 3 vibes with Ultra Elite returning to take down TNS...I hope that it's going to have some fresh stuff cuz S8B already felt quite recycled...🤔

@@ferretferr5600 I think it's going to be Ms Kate, but I think it's also possible it could be Emily because he knows her. I doubt it's James because Nick doesn't know James aside from him being Piper's older brother (we had like 1 minute of him in Season 8 when he was inviting Piper to live with him and Riley in NY). If we're lucky, we'll get Emily and Michelle cameo-ing at the same time (we know Vic is coming back). But yeah, I really miss the other OGs we haven't seen in forever, I miss James and Riley, I miss West...we've seen Giselle recently and we're definitely getting Michelle and Eldon back, but yeahhh I miss the OGs. 😭

Extremely excited for season 9! Although since it only has 22 episodes which is obviously very less I’m thinking this season will be them “qualifying” for internationals or something. Because in season 5 we had abt 22ish episodes and all we got at the end was the qualifier video. So maybe not necessarily qualifying since they won nationals but maybe something else around those lines. Tns will probably want to win internationals in the 10th big season is what I’m thinking.
few thoughts from the trailer, im gonna be open minded too but im just a bit wary of the way the camera angles are 😭, its feels a bit behind the scenes-ish rather than the camera panning out and filming the dances like it usually does. I will say the cafe looks pretty good, i love the diner vibe, and I also love the fits it's giving bright colours and season 1 outfit vibes. kinda upset that it's only 22 episodes, because internationals usually takes 5 episodes of the season, so does that mean only 17 episodes to build up to internationals 😭. something is telling me that they're not going to actually go to internationals this season, so it's gonna be a bit like season 5 and the video but in this instance, they compete in the challenges and then internationals will actually be seen in season 10, where the show will end, which makes me sad, but it's definitely coming one day 😭
eldon of course has to make an appearance haha, but something is telling me nick is calling Michelle, but im curious as to how ms Kate will be in season 9, unless they're setting up a lucien vs Kate rematch again haha, with ultra elite vs TNS.
gonna be fully honest here, the promotion for this season has really flopped imo, like we've got no news ahead of anything or any behind the scenes or official posts on CBBC or on any of TNS's socials. and that one random cast announcement video for Adele was a bit odd, especially as I was expecting a whole series with the new characters, but it was just a standalone video 😭
but like always, ready to watch with an open mind and I really hope they actually make it to internationals because the competition episodes are my favourite. exciting times ;)

My guess with the trailer is that you were right with the funding guess. The link is to the Boat Rocker site rather than CBBC or like TNS posting it on their RUclips channel. The two other clickable buttons on the show page were all about promotion and what the show was about. We may still get a whitewall trailer (although I'm not holding my breath on that one) but there might be a more put together trailer, or a higher quality version of this one as the "official" trailer from CBBC.

Given that the trailer isn’t available anymore, I assume they still need to polish it up which explains why the audio quality was uneven. So we’ll probably get a slightly updated version of the same trailer just before Spring arrives.
I saw the trailer before it was removed. This basically implies or even confirms that Daisy, Xander and Jude aren’t sticking around based on that new lineup on the RB website. No surprise that Grace is the new Amanda so it’s pretty much a retread of Season 3 which is a bit disappointing but it was expected. I can only hope it can at least still feel a bit more different though. I feel like they shouldn’t completely copy the Amanda thing exact. They should have some differing factors to make it less copied. Seems like something is going on with Pete and Kenzie might be forced to depart not by her own choice. And I get the feeling that Nick may be calling Miss Kate for assistance.
The camera work definitely feels different. I’m not sure what to make of it. And the fact that S9 has 5 less episodes than Season 8 makes me nervous too. Could possibly be budget cuts affecting the show or it’s possibly another set up to wrap up the show for next season but I guess we won’t know for sure until it finally airs. Regarding Richelle’s absence, I get the feeling she might be a recurring character who will show up a few times, possibly with Ozzy. Who knows. I imagine we’ll get an update on her since she said she wanted to stay around for a while. Hopefully Maria shows up in this season too as she’s vital for this plan with Grace. Nice to see Winnie will still be involved in the show.
I’ll probably wait till CBBC releases the official trailers including the white walls. I’m kinda nervous cause this almost feels like a transitional season as it’s giving a bit of Season 5 vibes. I’m not getting final season vibes from this yet. So far, it just seems like business as usual. But 22 episodes doesn’t seem like enough for Internationals either so I’m curious to how this will play out.

The second I opened the trailer my first immediate thought was "this seems different". The trailer and the vibe of the show based off the trailer feels a lot different to how the show normally is. Not sure how I feel about Grace doing a season 2 Amanda, or basically reusing that entire storyline, kind of wish they came up with a different way to have a villain be a point of conflict for a-troupe. I'm a little confused on the Internationals partnering, but I guess it will make more sense once we see it play out.

I just think this trailer didn't reveal enough. Half (or more) of it was dancing, and I didn't learn many new things about what will happen in the season (especially because we all knew there'd be some sort of situation with TNS and Ultra Elite).
I hope we get other trailers soon, so we can find out things that we don't already know.
i think what most annoys me is that the show doesn't seem to really care about the dance element anymore? like before it made sense who got onto a troupe because they were the best dancers but now it does feel like the quality of dance has gone down in favour of drama? like if you compare michelle and giselle to,,, dylan and jett? there's a lot less versatility, a lot of them are just hip hop dancers now whereas before they could all do everything

Suggestion🫶 maybe you can do a video placing characters in lines (front, middle and back row) based on their dance ability seasons 1-8 (all the A Troupes).
I was thinking the same thing when I first watched the trailer, the dancing was off, it looked like it was filmed on a phone. It Is gettting way to repetitive with the whole ultra elite/elite thing and the whole Amanda mole thing. I feel that this show has so much more to give instead of being super repetitive.
22 episodes is not enough considering how much they rush through plots even with 30 episodes

Tbh, this just feels like one of those fan created trailers using ai....Also great video 😊😊😊 I miss the vibe of the old seasons, with the relatable teen issues. These feel like there is no passion to them.
I honestly think this is the last season. (Given there are less episodes and that has been done to several other shows in the last season afaik)
Maybe Grace sabotages the studio and it has to close, but the dancers still go to international?
I miss the old seasons and the old characters from seasons 1-6 i did watch up to seasons 8, but i mainly preferred s7 and that's it. I remember when i was younger the next step was a much more overrated and popular series and many ppl have said the show kind of went "down hill" but they cannot keep all the old characters bc if everything is the same it will just be boring which is true. I dunno i just preferred the old studio A and the old vibes, see lately now the next step has become very underrated me and my sister grew up with the O.G the next step expect for my sister only watched up to season 4 she did not watch any other seasons cuz of the change of it but i did❤ well see is s9 is gonna Eat or not?❤❤

looking over the new A-Troupe my fav is Izzy hands down she's a great dancer.
Haha I haven't liked her for ages, so you would be correct. Season 7 onwards she wasn't for me.
