I enjoyed the hype more than I actually enjoyed Twilight 😂 I had a bunch of miscellaneous Team Edward and Team Jacob merch (because it was all cheap at Walmart - $5 tote bag and $2 packs of pins? Sign me up!) and “joining” in the conversations. But then when I tried to read the book it bore me by chapter 8, and when I tried to watch the movie (I tend to watch movies before reading the books anyway, so I can enjoy both forms of media instead of getting pissed off at the movie) it was just so cringe that I almost left the theater.
Thus I went back to reading Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy, and all was right in the world again~

Riverdale is actually a pretty good show , it’s just this season is confusing with gryphons and gargoyles and the farm in one season . They should’ve done season 4 on the farm . but the show has a good likable cast and they can act , but the writing and scripts need some major improvements for season 4 . Secret life was awful and the storylines were repetitive , first Amy gets pregnant then Adrian gets pregnant .

Kids getting pregnant in Highschool was something that I never experienced, my friends were to scared to even go on dates much less have sex, they actually cared about school, high AP classes we were always studying, playing sports, or working on our next play. I didn't have my first date or worry about boy untill I went off to college. I had my first kiss at 19. I mean I guess it happens but it's weird to think that it happens in high school.
A neighbor of mine like a year older than me got pregnant.
And then another girl at my school got pregnant think she was like 17 or 16.
Same I already told my bf that I don't want ti have sex until I finish HS, he is understandable about it and likes how I am taking my studies seriously by having AP and AICE classes
It probably depends on where you live and how your parents raised you. Teen pregnancies are probably less common outside of the US (in developed 1st world countries, I mean). Also, most of the teens who had little to no concern about school were either very poor and from a rough home or very rich and spoiled.
@@franfran1408 I went to a magnet highschool for music, and performing arts. You either had to be in honors or AP classes. My friends worked very hard to keep there grades up. Most of my friends went to Burkely, John Hopkins, Sarah Lawrence, NYU, Preston, UCLA,.Pepperdine, Fullerton and many other top universities. One of friends is a top exist for Disney and another is a casting agent for Broadway in New York.
Studying hard and being a good student was most important. I also went to HS in San Diego.
That’s the problem. This is why sex Ed should be prioritised and teens having sex shouldn’t be stigmatised. Note the area with the highest amount of teen pregnancies are conservative Christian areas that lack sex Ed and view teen sex as a sin

Lol and for me, camp was at our high school and you went home every day because it was a month long. We didn’t just live on campus.
When I went to camp for ROTC we stayed on the military base but that was for a week, it was segregated and we had fireguard duty where people would basically walk around and monitor the tents to make sure no one was sneaking out. You also shared a room/ tent with 8 other people! No sex was happening there lol.

Black Rose My one teenage soap opera show I somewhat watched was a bit of Dawson's Creek and I fell off of that fast. My teen years were all about Cartoon Network and the movie channels and experimenting with various music channels and genres I normally wouldn't touch. I discovered Taylor Swift this way, before her pop explosion.
I loved this show back in the day, but looking back, it was pretty corny, even though it tried to be realistic, but it felt like a middle aged executive's idea of how they think teenagers behave. Still, I liked Shailene Woodley's performance, and considering how well she's done for herself since, it's still surprising how young and baby faced she looks!

My old high school principal loved the shit out of this show and she definitely thought it accurately portrayed high school. One time she called me in her office and asked me "do you watch this show?" I told her I never heard it and she said "wow you should watch it! It's so good. Basically guys at my school were playing this game called "nut check" were they would smack eachothers balls unexpectedly while in the hall just to cause pain. Well me and my friends decided to do the same thing but call it "pan check" and cup eachothers crotch. Well I did it to my friend one day and the principal was down the hall and saw me so she called me into her office and explained how that was considered sexual assault in the real world and she could technically call the cops. She wanted to know WHY we were doing that and when I told her "just because we think its funny" she didnt like the answer. So in an attempt to "connect" with me so I would possibly open up more she told me about the show. I just repeated my answer but she procedeed to keep talking about this show until I annoyed her with my redondant answer and she gave detention. Also it should be noted that I was in highschool 9 years ago, as a 27 year old I do not think random crotch grabbing of my friends is funny or acceptable anynore.
This show was my thing back in the day. I remember noticing the all the corny details, and in my mind that was how teenagers behave. Plus at this point I had only seen like Disney shows so my mind was pretty blown with all the sex 😅

This show was so bizarre because nothing ever happened in it. In the beginning of each episode some revelation would be made (usually by one character just telling another character something). Then the rest of the episode was just all the other characters having reaction conversations to one revelation. This show is really trippy with its complete disregard to plot, forward momentum, and dialogue.

I dropped the show when everyone started sleeping with each other for no reason...they did get me to tear up when they killed Adrian's baby though, she acted her ass off in that scene (the dead puppy and kitty song in the background didnt help)
As someone who's lost a child.. She was very realistic on how she sank low into depression and didn't care anymore... She's by far my favorite character already and when she did that season I loved her even more! Plus the actress IRL is so sweet, she donated her kidney to save her bff's life! What an incredible person..

Actually, in the epilogue, Brenda Hampton said they did end up getting married and Adrian and Omar had 2 kids, but it was never mentioned in the show. I agree though, it should've ended with them being married.

I was obsessed with this show. It's terrible but I like soapy stuff. One interesting thing to note is that this show was created and mainly written by Brenda Hampton who also created and wrote 7th Heaven. Which is another show I was obsessed with. Both shows have the exact same melodrama and weird lines that cause even the best of actors to give a wooden performance.
