NICk was the pride of the Capital Region...we were so proud of him...he became known internationally in his evolution. I am so honored to have shared a bill with him once at the legendary VAN DYCK JAZZ club locally...how fortunate for me. R.I,P. dear friend.

Nick is and always will be the GOAT. I was fortunate to see one of his greatest gigs at the Ramada Inn in Schenectady with Eddie Daniels. Nick took the tempo of the Theme to the Flintstones so fast, that the only players left standing were Nick, Eddie and the bass player. PHENOMINAL!!!

I enjoyed watching that. Sort of nostalgia from by Berklee time, 1979 and a few years later. I heard all these players then, many times. Sort of a golden age. I think Berklee has moved against this type of music in recent decades.
