    When I'm shopping, I'm looking for material, durability, and style. I only buy cotton T-shirts (or other natural materials) because I feel like the plastic fabrics make me sweaty but also cold, and this is my number 1 concern. If the material ruins my comfort, the piece isn't worth it.

      See, you are part of the few who actually care about the product. We are a small group. Again people follow what others deem trendy, so to actually touch and feel fabrics is not in their interest.

      @@planetbrooklynacademy Oh, I wasn't denying that, just throwing my 2 cents in. And since I care about quality, I also buy clothes a lot less, so I'm not the best customer for building a brand unless you want to be KNOWN for these things.
      If I have useful information, I guess I'd suggest to remember that if you're making any kind of womens' bottoms/dresses, having good pockets could be a selling point. A lot of times when a woman compliments another woman's outfit and it has good pockets, she WILL make a big deal out of it. If the womens' shirts aren't super thin and sheer, that's also something we'll talk about. I don't know how achievable it is to do this from the start, but at least being aware is good!

    So if I’m a screen-printer/designer of my clothing line it’s time to get a marketer involved right ? 🤔

    • @planetbrooklynacademy
      @planetbrooklynacademy  2 года назад +1

      That depends on what you're looking to do. Are trying to promote your own line or are trying to promote your printing business?

      @@planetbrooklynacademy the former mostly, I’m a skateboarder that prints and designs so I’ve figured it’s about time I took all my skills on the road in the form of a nice skate apparel brand for the world to see and buy 😌 lurking around YT brought me here and it’s the only sensible advise I’ve heard so far (practical applicability not withstanding lol)

    • @planetbrooklynacademy

      @@Qumach I'm glad I could provide you with some worth wild advice. Now, starting a skate apparel line isn't going to be easy. Thats a extremely saturated market. So going into it you have to find a do something none of the other brands are doing. Consider your target market. Do you want o focus on kids? Do you want to focus on just street skating. Figure that out first. Then look at what you competitors are doing and see what they have in common and what they are missing. If you can find out what they are missing, that could be your way of willing a market void.

      @@planetbrooklynacademy thanks for the advice mate 😌 I’ll be swinging by to see more of the vids, as for the saturated market I figured I’ll show my audience how the apparel is made and serve a more valuable role among my competition (here in Russia they mostly rip off Carhartt and call it a day) since I’ve got that unique advantage of being good at the craft 👨🏻‍🔬

    • @planetbrooklynacademy
      @planetbrooklynacademy  2 года назад +3

      @@Qumach My pleasure. Since you're in Russia I'm sure not oversaturated will brands the way we are here in the states. So producing a strong original product there would be great. If you could collab with a store where they would allow you to do live printing in the shop that could be great for you. Do it as a pop up shop experience for a day or 2. You create graphics and maybe you add the stores logo on the sleeve. That way you and the store both get great promotion and make some money.

    Well said, ... How then do we get the perception up and all? Because this seems really important

    • @planetbrooklynacademy
      @planetbrooklynacademy  Год назад +1

      To get the perception up you have to believe in the image you want to project. I was always told "Live the life you want to live." This saying goes for anything. If you want to come across as a high end line then study those brands that are of that level. Adopt their esthetic to fit your line and push that.
