Have you heard of Ewa Podles and Yma Sumac? Podles died about 10 years ago and had a nine- octave range. She was an opera singer and I had the opportunity to hear hear live. Incredible. Similarly, Yma Sumac had the same. She was born in the Amazon of Peru and learned all her singing from the actual birds and animals around her, so she could sing as low as the growl of panthers, to as high as all kinds of birds. She did operatic arias snd crossover and Peruvian themes. They were amazing singers, but unfortunately, they are just not known by your generation, because they had no media like we have and there was very little music for voices in those ranges. They had to show different ranges in different pieces. So we can’t say EVER to walk the planet because we don’t know who has sung before. That statement is a fallacy. Sweeping statements often are. The castrati mostly sang in head voice and you can find one or two recordings of them. Nothing like Dimash. So it would be more correct to say, however, that Dimash has the widest vocal range of any male singer in recorded history. THAT would be correct. He doesn’t need exaggeration. He’s already too good.

@@Angaavariel I lived during the time she was around. I saw the album cover info. I have also seen RUclips videos claiming her 4 octaves. I wrote that there was no music that allowed her to sing her full octaves in one song. You had to hear different pieces to hear her full range. I was around about 5 or 6 of her albums, not one or two. I heard with my own ears, and I heard alongside music conductors /maestros, who pointed out notes to me. Same with Ewa Podles. I worked in organizations where she performed. I saw her write-ups and saw her roles. Again, different scores and different ranges. And what’s wrong with Dimash having the widest vocal range of any male singer in recorded history. That is correct and it should be enough.
Dimash is not your regular singer. He is very respectful, educated, loving, patriotic, spiritual and humble. He believes he has been given a gift and must work every day, to deserve it. He says his teachers deserve more credit than him. He couldn’t bear to embarrass or disappoint his family or country, He is a peace ambassador, has been presented with an award from the pope, even though he is Muslim and is involved in many charities.

Haha, yes me too, hearing Dimash sing for the first time, I was moved beyond words beyond , goose bumps, I was thanking God that He made mortals able to have such beauty and talent!😊 As for songs to listen to, “Sinful Passion,” And one of his songs in English, “Stranger,” “Olympico” a song written for Dimash by Russia’s famous composer “Igor Krutoy,” The song you mentioned “You Lift me up,” is very short and does not really showcase all that Dimash can do, but is beautiful because he is singing very restrained for the children’s” sake that are singing with him. Dimash also sings a duet with Placido Domingo, here on RUclips, he sings very precisely, and respectfully when singing with others. He does also sing a different version of “Ave Marie” written by Igor Krutoy again for Dimash. “Love is Like a Dream,” is also beautifully sung by Dimash. Anything that Igor Krutoy composes that Dimash sings will be crazy good. Yes, the most recent video of his performance of You Raise Me Up in China just a few months ago is highly recommended. Do be aware that the Dears (Dimash fans) will recommend all his big showy numbers which are absolutely stunning BUT Dimash also has a huge varied repertoire of songs that do not utilize (because it's unnecessary) his large uncanny range of over 7 octaves. He has gorgeous songs that actually showcase his absolute control and varied vocal techniques where you can hear his artistic mastery of producing the most beautiful notes ever heard. His duets with other artists show his utmost respect for his partner where he tones down to match his partner in order to help showcase their skils and voice. In You Raise Me Up, he is singing with a children's choir and totally reins in his voice so you can hear their sweet voices. Immediately contrast You Raise Me Up with the more spectacular and theatrical Stranger from New Wave in Sochi Russia, Fly Away (very pop) and Ave Maria (neoclassical vocalise) also from New Wave same year 2021. And Ti Amo Cos trio with Aida Garifulina and Lara Fabian in 2019. This will give you a wide variety of genres and presentations of Dimash's total mastery of his voice. Just remember one thing. We are familiar with the goosebumps caused by Dimash's incredible voice. This is a cover song from the French rock opera "Starmania", written in 1976, 18 years before Dimash was born. I guess it is safe to say this is his signature song. His grandparents found that he had perfect pitch at the age of three. He began his music studies at five, spending half days with academics and the other half studying music. There is so much to be said about Dimash and none would be negative in any way. I suggest that you react to the series of videos called " The Ultimate Dimash Guide." 12 short videos are beginning with when he was a child. There are interviews with teachers, friends, others in the music industry, his parents, interviewers, and Dimash himself. He is so very humble and does not consider himself a star. Today people fly in from all over the world to see his 3 hr + solo concerts held in huge arenas and stadiums. You have 2 choices:- Either start from the beginning which for Dimash would be his first international appearance on the Chinese TV show "I am a Singer." Yes, Dimash is amazing and incredible, so far we have yet to see another singer who is able to replicate what he is doing with the same quality and ease from beginning to the end of the songs, it’s like it’s almost impossible to cover some of his songs by any single person on earth, at least not at the moment. Those who are top notch in the high register usually have a mediocre low register and vice versa, those who is great at opera may not be able to do pop,RnB,rock, jazz or blues. Those who have a great mixed may not be good at headvoice. Those who can sing in multiple language may not sing as powerfully. Dimash is massive, just not in America. His current vocal range is over 7 octaves. He is from Kazakhstan. Tall at 6'3", He had completed three degrees including his PhD by just before age 29 and manages to perform huge concerts across the world. Now age 30 and has studied classically and contemporary vocals since age 5.(Just before 5). Dimash has absolute or perfect pitch and plays multiple instruments. He is Eurasian, Kazakhstan being close to the Eurasian Pass. He comes from a family of singers and musicians. Both parents studied music at University in Kazakhstan and is mother (Sveta) is a beautiful soprano and father (Kanat) is a pop singer. He was given to his paternal grandparents after birth. This is a Kazak tradition called the gifting of a son. His parents toured as performers and the gifting of a son allowed him to be raised by his grandparents with the old customs and great musical training from that early age. They raised him solely his first 10 years at which time the entire family moved in together and they continued to raise him, his sister, Raushan, and his still teenager brother, (Mansur) He was well known in Kazakhstan singing competitions and also in Ukraine and Russia, but he got his huge break when he was invited to be a wild card participant in the Chinese singoff, I Am Singer. He could not win as he was not Chinese, but he wowed them and then entire world with his performances while there. He had a massive concert in New York in December 2019 and masses flooded to see him, but they were mostly from other countries flying in for his concert. After completing his PhD studies he headed to America to study at the L.A. campus of the NY School of Fine Arts. He studied Film Directing. His Masters is in Music Composition. He has at times composed, directed and or produced his own MV?MV videos but not always. He is so massive he has all of his stage clothing designed and tailored by professionals. Dimash "fans" have been names Dears, by Diamsh. This video was actually created as Covid broke. Covid just hit and Diamsh as with others, had to cancel everything. Dimash put this video "Concert" out, which was great, he kept doing even one-song videos just to support and keep in touch. He did a lot actually, Grops set themselves up and would create videos with them singing his works. He also went around in his own country supporting people and in his town, he took food parcels etc around to help people out. a very humble young man with a very big heart. Recognises that he has been given wonderful resources, and is very grateful. He takes nothing for granted, and often says to his audiences "he would be nothing without them"
Dimash calles his fans "dears". I am definitely a dear, followed him from Düsseldorf in 2022 to Antalya in 2023 and in 2024 I visited Budapest and Istanbul only for his concerts. I have my ticket for Düsseldorf in November 2024. I would follow him to the north pole as well as to Death Valley, because he is AWESOME. You just scratched the surface. Dimash has a worldwide following with fans (Dears) willing to travel the globe to see him live. I have been to 4 concerts so far with, hopefully, another 2 in November. This song is from a 1970's rock opera called Starmania. Many have sung it, but never like Dimash. He went viral overnight when he sang this on a Chinese competition in 2017. He truly is a once-in-a-lifetime artist with a 7.7 octave range and he sings in 14+ languages even though he only speaks 2 languages fluently, Kazakh & Russian. He is a barytone, a tenor, a countertenor, an alto, a counteralto, male soprano and his range includes all notes on the piano including whistle tones up to G8. His artistry and personality captures your heart and soul - makes life look brighter. His grandparents, parents, teachers, friends and everybody who works with him tells us, that he is kind, humble, funny, playful, very smart and ekstremely dedicated to his work. Music has been his life since early childhood. I am an ordinary guy who just happens to have some moral values - he once said abourt himself. Since 2017 he has had a fantastic career in Asia. Hard work & God Given talent, that’s our Dimash. Please react next to Stranger, Sinful Passion, or Blizzard Again & Cranes Cry which he sang at the Slavianski Bazaar competition when he was 14 or 15 years old. Then 2 years later after singing SOS at the I Am Singer Chinese competition he became famous. He woke up to find 2 bodyguards at his door. 2 million Chinese fans overnight after singing that song. Kudos to the Chinese fans, they are the first & the original DEARS. That’s what Dimash calls his fans, that crosses the oceans to attend his concerts. I liked and subscribed hoping for more Dimash reactions😊 Dimash is a 30-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads, RnB and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far). He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country (and he still does). And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. You can't compare him to any other singer on this planet. He has so many different music genres and styles. He loves Freddie Mercury, but also Michael Jackson, Lara Fabian, Luciano Pavarotti and Eminem and you can also hear that one or the other has an influence on some of his songs. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. Many vocal experts who have heard Dimash sing have said that he can only be compared with Farinelli, a castrato from the 18th century and the greatest singer of his times. It is said that when Farinelli sang, grown men wept and women swooned. In addition to his incredible voice, Dimash totally embodies what he sings and his performances sometimes have a similar effect on the audience, even if one does not understand the language being sung.
Farinelli could only sing high notes. Not the low ones. And he likely didn’t know the different vocal techniques and singing styles, from all over the world, that Dimash knows, just because his world (and his access to information) was vastly different from ours. So I suspect Dimash is special, even compared to past singers. ❤ But Farinelli was likely working as much as Dimash. (Maybe forced to). I really would have liked to hear him sing. 😊
@@EllaSilentDragon You've got it all mostly wrong. I suggest you look up Farinelli's history and talent before coming to those conclusions and as Dimash once said, the ranges are not that important. Actually , Farinelli and Dimash share much more than incredible voices, talent, breathing and vocal techniques. Both were trained daily from childhood, speak multiple languages, came from well endowed families and were given a good education. Farinelli played multiple instruments, favoring the viola and the harpsichord as Dimash with his dombra and piano. Farinelli was known to have a gentle, kind and humble disposition. He never went lacking and was appreciated by all of Europe's royal courts. It is said that his voice remained pure and whole up to his death at the age of 77. On a side note...Dimash is the same height as Farinelli was.

And that must have sounded awesome. ❤️ People claim that he could reach "deep" notes, but since his puberty has been interrupted, and thus his vocal chords couldn’t develop, what was meant by deep likely was compared to other castrati. Or even other normal singers. People with three or four octaves are considered to have a wide vocal range. 🤷♀️ And about the vocal techniques: he learned everything that was operatic techniques at the time. But how would he know about asian/ north african folk techniques or even rock, pop or musical styles or whatever there is on this planet nowadays. There was no Internet back then… 😉 Every style has its own challenges and has to be learned. Just as a builder of coaches back then couldn’t imagine cars or planes, he couldn’t know what is out there. That is no criticism, just knowledge compounds over time. More than a hundred years ago opera singers didn’t even use vibrato. You can hear it in the voices of old operatic recordings. All I wanted to say is, that he didn’t have the resources back then that singers have now. (But he likely had good teachers) And that is not his fault. It just is.
@@EllaSilentDragon It goes without saying that throughout the centuries, access to a wider variety of sounds and musical instruments were not as easy to come by as it is today but singing in multiple styles and with a wider range does not make one a "better singer". Styles change over time and current musical genres are "different" not "better". The same goes for any art form, like painting for example. Old masters were not less of a master because they could not have access to as much information, tools, pigments etc... which are available today. It's too bad how so many Dimash fans get stuck on his range and show disappointment when he comes out with a song which does not require him to exhibit them all. The delivery of the song (no matter the century) is what influences greatness.

He has been studying all of his life for that. Farinelli was very talented for his time and compared to the people around him. We know that. But how he would compare to Dimash or let’s say Pavarotti is pure speculation. It’s like in Sports: Sure if you‘re in local competitions all your life and win everything there, doesn’t mean, that you’re ready for the Olympics. Dimash has won over people from all over the world. In a time where you can compare him to people from all over the world. And yes it is technically more difficult to deliver multiple skills on a world class level, than just one. You might not like the music, but technically there is no sense in denying his skill. Farinelli might have been as good. But he might have been average compared to today’s standards. We will never know. Because there are only written descriptions from that time. 🤷♀️ So comparing them makes absolutely no sense.

He’s so incredible and this is just the tip of the iceberg. I love so much of his music ( nearly all of it) I find it hard to recommend what to look at next. I’ve only discovered him myself only a year ago, and I’m so captivated by him that I’ve already flown to a different country to see his concert. The singing alone is beyond anything I’ve ever heard. In my opinion, he is THE BEST I’ve ever heard. Not only that, his talent in all things that includes but not limited to singing, he has shown he can compose beautiful music, direct music videos, act, play several instruments, sing in at least 11 languages that I’m aware of. Welcome to the wonderful world of Dimash 😊 You should definitely check out Dimash’s duet with a Chinese opera singer Li Yu Gang singing Drunken Concubine and Diva Dance. Traditional Chibese opera singers, back in the day were in the similar situation that because women were not allowed to be on stage to perform, so all the opera singers were men, but some trained to be able to sing the higher pitch female character parts. Wemen are allowed now, but the trainings are definitely different. Please check that one out. You will be in for a treat. I discovered Dimash only last summer. I was instantly hooked and became a Dear (That’s how Dimash called his devoted fans) Dimash is from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿, both his parents are singers. His Mom is an opera soprano with pure crystal clear voice. His father sings with crooner’s smooth voice and is also a song writer and music producer. He helps to manage Dimash’s own production company. Besides being super talented, Dimash is actually very well educated as well. Probably already Dr. Dimash PhD now in musicology. He sings in 13 languages, plays 7 instruments and just an awesome humble, kind and respectful human being. That’s why we Dears love him even more. Have fun with your own Dimash discovery journey. It is hard to say what to listen to next. If you are committed to taking this extraordinary journey to music nirvana, I think it would be great to start with his performances on " Siner 2017" He was invited to participate in this Chinese singing competition as a dark horse, and only expected to make it to maybe the second episode. He was the first foreigner and the youngest and only non-professional singer in the show's history. The other singers were 12-39 years his senior. His first song was " SOS", and he was an overnight international success. He was the first runner-up only because they had to have a Chinese singer win, (Sandy Lam age 51). None of the other singers knew anything about him, other than the fact that he was a foreigner; not his talent or even what he looked like. Thank you for this reaction. This is from a digital concert he put out as response to his fans who missed him when covid lockdowns kept him away from the stage for a while. People asked him on instagram, so he said he'd try do to something. I just hoped for one, may be two songs in his home studio, but he gathered his band (including two drummers and another percussionist) and a full production team, and made an amazing 2 hour digital concert for which he only charged 10 U$. And two months later, he uploaded all of it, song by song, to his youtube channel for free. In addition, he donated part of the income for medical equipment, I don't think he got much left after paying the musicians, dancers, and full production team of 200 people. This alone gives a hint of who he is as a person. You can get another big hint of how he unites people with his music, by the comments section of this video; I see comments in English, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Polish. He is not mainstream, he is too unique, but he has followers in all corners of the world.

Have you heard of Ewa Podles and Yma Sumac? Podles died about 10 years ago and had a nine- octave range. She was an opera singer and I had the opportunity to hear hear live. Incredible. Similarly, Yma Sumac had the same. She was born in the Amazon of Peru and learned all her singing from the actual birds and animals around her, so she could sing as low as the growl of panthers, to as high as all kinds of birds. She did operatic arias snd crossover and Peruvian themes. They were amazing singers, but unfortunately, they are just not known by your generation, because they had no media like we have and there was very little music for voices in those ranges. They had to show different ranges in different pieces.
So we can’t say EVER to walk the planet because we don’t know who has sung before. That statement is a fallacy. Sweeping statements often are.
The castrati mostly sang in head voice and you can find one or two recordings of them. Nothing like Dimash.
So it would be more correct to say, however, that Dimash has the widest vocal range of any male singer in recorded history. THAT would be correct. He doesn’t need exaggeration. He’s already too good.

@@Angaavariel I lived during the time she was around. I saw the album cover info. I have also seen RUclips videos claiming her 4 octaves. I wrote that there was no music that allowed her to sing her full octaves in one song. You had to hear different pieces to hear her full range. I was around about 5 or 6 of her albums, not one or two. I heard with my own ears, and I heard alongside music conductors /maestros, who pointed out notes to me.
Same with Ewa Podles. I worked in organizations where she performed. I saw her write-ups and saw her roles. Again, different scores and different ranges. And what’s wrong with Dimash having the widest vocal range of any male singer in recorded history. That is correct and it should be enough.
Dimash is not your regular singer. He is very respectful, educated, loving, patriotic, spiritual and humble. He believes he has been given a gift and must work every day, to deserve it. He says his teachers deserve more credit than him. Yes, the most recent video of his performance of You Raise Me Up in China just a few months ago is highly recommended. Do be aware that the Dears (Dimash fans) will recommend all his big showy numbers which are absolutely stunning BUT Dimash also has a huge varied repertoire of songs that do not utilize (because it's unnecessary) his large uncanny range of over 7 octaves. He has gorgeous songs that actually showcase his absolute control and varied vocal techniques where you can hear his artistic mastery of producing the most beautiful notes ever heard.
His duets with other artists show his utmost respect for his partner where he tones down to match his partner in order to help showcase their skils and voice. In You Raise Me Up, he is singing with a children's choir and totally reins in his voice so you can hear their sweet voices. Yes, Dimash is amazing and incredible, so far we have yet to see another singer who is able to replicate what he is doing with the same quality and ease from beginning to the end of the songs, it’s like it’s almost impossible to cover some of his songs by any single person on earth, at least not at the moment. Those who are top notch in the high register usually have a mediocre low register and vice versa, those who is great at opera may not be able to do pop,RnB,rock, jazz or blues. Those who have a great mixed may not be good at headvoice. Those who can sing in multiple language may not sing as powerfully. He was well known in Kazakhstan singing competitions and also in Ukraine and Russia, but he got his huge break when he was invited to be a wild card participant
in the Chinese singoff, I Am Singer. He could not win as he was not Chinese, but he wowed them and then entire world with his performances while there.
He had a massive concert in New York in December 2019 and masses flooded to see him, but they were mostly from other countries flying in for his concert.
After completing his PhD studies he headed to America to study at the L.A. campus of the NY School of Fine Arts. He studied Film Directing. His Masters is in Music Composition. He has at times composed, directed and or produced his own MV?MV videos but not always. He is so massive he has all of his stage clothing

Dimash "fans" have been names Dears, by Diamsh. This video was actually created as Covid broke. Covid just hit and Diamsh as with others, had to cancel everything. Dimash put this video "Concert" out, which was great, he kept doing even one-song videos just to support and keep in touch. He did a lot actually, Grops set themselves up and would create videos with them singing his works. He also went around in his own country supporting people and in his town, he took food parcels etc around to help people out. a very humble young man with a very big heart. Recognises that he has been given wonderful resources, and is very grateful.

Dimash calles his fans "dears". I am definitely a dear, followed him from Düsseldorf in 2022 to Antalya in 2023 and in 2024 I visited Budapest and Istanbul only for his concerts. Dimash is a 30-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads, RnB and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country (and he still does). And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. You can't compare him to any other singer on this planet. He has so many different music genres and styles. He loves Freddie Mercury, but also Michael Jackson, Lara Fabian, Luciano Pavarotti and Eminem and you can also hear that one or the other has an influence on some of his songs.
Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

And that’s why the lyrics are also very motivating.
This song and this performance from this Arnau concert is my absolute favourite🥰 I think this version is the best, because his performance is so intense and breathtaking. The light show, the background dancers. Everything. With this song in this version I always get breathlessness. The way he represents himself on stage, the hand movements. I think he has incredibly beautiful hands🤭(and apparently many cameramen think so too, since many of the camera shots during his performances very often only show his hands. Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so commanding😱. In my opinion, this version of Olimpico is one of the most impressive performances ever. If you don't know what the song is about, you'd think he was going to war and is calling his army to a lost battle 😅! It’s absolutely stunning. Many vocal experts who have heard Dimash sing have said that he can only be compared with Farinelli, a castrato from the 18th century and the greatest singer of his times. It is said that when Farinelli sang, grown men wept and women swooned. In addition to his incredible voice, Dimash totally embodies what he sings and his performances sometimes have a similar effect on the audience, even if one does not understand the language being sung.
Farinelli could only sing high notes. Not the low ones. And he likely didn’t know the different vocal techniques and singing styles, from all over the world, that Dimash knows, just because his world (and his access to information) was vastly different from ours.
So I suspect Dimash is special, even compared to past singers. ❤
But Farinelli was likely working as much as Dimash. (Maybe forced to). I really would have liked to hear him sing. 😊
@@EllaSilentDragon You've got it all mostly wrong. I suggest you look up Farinelli's history and talent before coming to those conclusions and as Dimash once said, the ranges are not that important. Actually , Farinelli and Dimash share much more than incredible voices, talent, breathing and vocal techniques. Both were trained daily from childhood, speak multiple languages, came from well endowed families and were given a good education. Farinelli played multiple instruments, favoring the viola and the harpsichord as Dimash with his dombra and piano. Farinelli was known to have a gentle, kind and humble disposition. He never went lacking and was appreciated by all of Europe's royal courts. It is said that his voice remained pure and whole up to his death at the age of 77. On a side note...Dimash is the same height as Farinelli was.
@@michelegagne5169 I believe, that he was highly trained. And he sang from C4 to C6. And that must have sounded awesome. ❤️
People claim that he could reach "deep" notes, but since his puberty has been interrupted, and thus his vocal chords couldn’t develop, what was meant by deep likely was compared to other castrati. Or even other normal singers. People with three or four octaves are considered to have a wide vocal range. 🤷♀️
And about the vocal techniques: he learned everything that was operatic techniques at the time. But how would he know about asian/ north african folk techniques or even rock, pop or musical styles or whatever there is on this planet nowadays. There was no Internet back then… 😉 Every style has its own challenges and has to be learned.
Just as a builder of coaches back then couldn’t imagine cars or planes, he couldn’t know what is out there. That is no criticism, just knowledge compounds over time.
More than a hundred years ago opera singers didn’t even use vibrato. You can hear it in the voices of old operatic recordings.
All I wanted to say is, that he didn’t have the resources back then that singers have now. (But he likely had good teachers) And that is not his fault. It just is.
@@EllaSilentDragon It goes without saying that throughout the centuries, access to a wider variety of sounds and musical instruments were not as easy to come by as it is today but singing in multiple styles and with a wider range does not make one a "better singer". Styles change over time and current musical genres are "different" not "better". The same goes for any art form, like painting for example. Old masters were not less of a master because they could not have access to as much information, tools, pigments etc... which are available today. It's too bad how so many Dimash fans get stuck on his range and show disappointment when he comes out with a song which does not require him to exhibit them all. The delivery of the song (no matter the century) is what influences greatness.
@@michelegagne5169 Yes you‘re right. It’s not about the range but the mastery. And Dimash exhibits outstanding mastery over many styles and in all of his range. He has been studying all of his life for that.
Farinelli was very talented for his time and compared to the people around him. We know that. But how he would compare to Dimash or let’s say Pavarotti is pure speculation.
It’s like in Sports:
Sure if you‘re in local competitions all your life and win everything there, doesn’t mean, that you’re ready for the Olympics.
Dimash has won over people from all over the world. In a time where you can compare him to people from all over the world. And yes it is technically more difficult to deliver multiple skills on a world class level, than just one. You might not like the music, but technically there is no sense in denying his skill.
Farinelli might have been as good. But he might have been average compared to today’s standards. We will never know. Because there are only written descriptions from that time. 🤷♀️
So comparing them makes absolutely no sense.

He’s so incredible and this is just the tip of the iceberg. I love so much of his music ( nearly all of it) I find it hard to recommend what to look at next. I’ve only discovered him myself only a year ago, and I’m so captivated by him that I’ve already flown to a different country to see his concert. The singing alone is beyond anything I’ve ever heard. In my opinion, he is THE BEST I’ve ever heard. Not only that, his talent in all things that includes but not limited to singing, he has shown he can compose beautiful music, direct music videos, act, play several instruments, sing in at least 11 languages that I’m aware of. He has composed and sang something that I would consider a masterpiece ( the story of one sky). He was standing at the very front of the line when they were handing out the talent and what’s so incredible is that he is also a wonderful person. Some recommendations. Stranger, Sinful passion, Inkanaide, Omir, know, Love is like a dream, El amor en ti, olimpico, ave maria Story of one Sky, when I’ve got you, …………….AND there is so much more 😍
Dimash was gifted with perfect pitch. He's worked hard for 25 years to develop his abilities. He's also a very humble man.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Dimash 😊 You should definitely check out Dimash’s duet with a Chinese opera singer Li Yu Gang singing Drunken Concubine and Diva Dance. Traditional Chibese opera singers, back in the day were in the similar situation that because women were not allowed to be on stage to perform, so all the opera singers were men, but some trained to be able to sing the higher pitch female character parts. Wemen are allowed now, but the trainings are definitely different. Please check that one out. You will be in for a treat. I discovered Dimash only last summer. I was instantly hooked and became a Dear (That’s how Dimash called his devoted fans) Dimash is from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿, both his parents are singers. His Mom is an opera soprano with pure crystal clear voice. His father sings with crooner’s smooth voice and is also a song writer and music producer. He helps to manage Dimash’s own production company. Besides being super talented, Dimash is actually very well educated as well. Probably already Dr. Dimash PhD now in musicology. He sings in 13 languages, plays 7 instruments and just an awesome humble, kind and respectful human being. That’s why we Dears love him even more. Have fun with your own Dimash discovery journey. He will never disappoint you. Yes! Goosebumps and chills are daily staple. Get use to it, because Dimash will bring it and his voice will just go right through to your soul. ❤😊
His first album went 1× platinum in 37sec. 3×platinum in 43min and 5×platinum in 1 day...he's now got an 8 octave range and he's just absolutely incredible! This is only a chip from the tip of the iceberg that is our beloved Dimash Qudaibergen said like koo-die-bur-gen. He's graduated with a masters in classical music, and a masters in composition and is now getting his PhD in contemporary music. He is also an ambassador for peace. And so very much more! I found him in 2017 when he did a competition show in China and this was the first song he did then and had just turned 22 and he got them more than 600million views than before. It is hard to say what to listen to next. If you are committed to taking this extraordinary journey to music nirvana, I think it would be great to start with his performances on " Siner 2017" He was invited to participate in this Chinese singing competition as a dark horse, and only expected to make it to maybe the second episode. He was the first foreigner and the youngest and only non-professional singer in the show's history. The other singers were 12-39 years his senior. His first song was " SOS", and he was an overnight international success. He was the first runner-up only because they had to have a Chinese singer win, (Sandy Lam age 51). None of the other singers knew anything about him, other than the fact that he was a foreigner; not his talent or even what he looked like. This is from a digital concert he put out as response to his fans who missed him when covid lockdowns kept him away from the stage for a while. People asked him on instagram, so he said he'd try do to something. I just hoped for one, may be two songs in his home studio, but he gathered his band (including two drummers and another percussionist) and a full production team, and made an amazing 2 hour digital concert for which he only charged 10 U$. And two months later, he uploaded all of it, song by song, to his youtube channel for free. In addition, he donated part of the income for medical equipment, I don't think he got much left after paying the musicians, dancers, and full production team of 200 people. This alone gives a hint of who he is as a person.
You can get another big hint of how he unites people with his music, by the comments section of this video; I see comments in English, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Polish. He is not mainstream, he is too unique, but he has followers in all corners of the world.
You know the expression, "You aint seen nothing yet", well, try "Sinful Passion" next. Then Oliympico.
He is not just a singer, all be it with an increadible voice and range but he plays a host of instruments as well. An all round entertainer.
