Everything Dimash does is insane. I discovered him 3 years ago and to this day, he still surprises me with each new performance in whatever genre or language he chooses to sing in. You've just come upon a consummate artist in every sense of the word and you will see it reflected in the top quality of all his performances and MV. Dimash purposely decided to be an independent artist in order to remain creatively free in all aspects of his career. Dimash burst unto the international scene in 2017 when at the age of 22, he appeared as a wild card contestant on the Chinese TV show "I Am Singer". Totally unknown, he sang S0S and became an instant celebrity in China and still is to this day. Dimash now has a tremendous worldwide fan base and the "Dears", as he calls his fans, fly in from over 60-70 countries to attend his concerts. You don't know it yet but you're in for quite a treat if you decide to jump into this Dimash rabbit hole. You won't regret it.

I found DIMASH by accident. I was looking for info on the great castrato, Farinelli, and on the opposite panel it said "the Best Voice in the world " and decided to take a look. It was in 2017. I saw him in 2019 in his first American concert in New York. I met "Dears" (what he calls his fans) from over 50 countries, many of whom follow him all over the world. DIMASH said himself If you cut him all that comes out is music. His mother said she does not recognize her son when he is on stage and performing; he becomes another person and in a special place the instant he starts.
Dimash is Music. He physically conducts his voice usually with his hands but also with his stature. Dimash is the only known Vocalbender Extraordinaire this side of Heaven. His sings in every genre not including American country style. Sings 15+ languages, models, acts, produces, composes. He is also a kind and compassionate man, very patriotic and loves his family. He dreams of world peace. And if he could cook he would be perfect 😅.
He also transforms his voice into a music instrument in several of his songs. it is shocking when he does that. He imitates a musical instrument to perfection
👉 Part 2: In 2017, Dimash surprised everyone, not only in China. His first album was certified 1x platinum in 37 seconds, 3x platinum in 47 minutes and 5x platinum in one day. (Each country has its own regulations)
He opened the eyes of his critical compatriots. Today, Dimash is his country's "cultural ambassador" and a "national treasure" (no official title). He himself is a proud Kazakh and patriot and is passionately committed to peace in the world.
Dimash plays at least 7 instruments, traditional dombra is a must in Kazakh familys. He speaks 3 languages: Kazakh (mother tongue), Russian without an accent (second language in Kazakhstan) and English. So far he sings in 16 languages (phonetically). Dimash says dancing is difficult for him. But he moves great on stage and his hands speak. He is a grandiose and sensitive story teller. Dimash trains his voice 3-4 hours every day...but he says: "You don't have to know how hard I've worked, you just have to enjoy the results."
In professional circles, Dimash is considered a lyrical baritone with a typically wide range. Some believe that he does not sing his high notes as a countertenor (Falsetto) but as a natural soprano (Head voice). He is the first singer to sing all 5 voices: bass, baritone, tenor, alto, soprano.
His current pitch range is G0 - D8 (outside the piano), 7,7 octaves! At least that's what Dimash shows us so far. 😃

Dimash's 'heavenly' vocal abilities, from bass to coloratura soprano, are difficult to classify. They are not only limited to the enormous range of over seven octaves and the mixture of all musical genres, but it is also the incredible command of his voice and the ability to touch people emotionally and surprise them again and again. Dimash doesn't drink alcohol and of course he doesn't smoke, he doesn't drink iced drinks and he doesn't like socks. He loves fire and water on stage, of course only as stage sets. 🤣 Dimash works out regularly to stay in shape - especially he loves swimming and playing tennis.
A dear once gave him knee pads, but Dimash says he's so deep into his songs that he doesn't feel any pain. 😃

You have just listened to the best vocalist in the world right now. Yes, you pronounce his name perfectly. He truly is a once-in-a-lifetime artist. He not only is a phenomenal singer, but is also a multi-instrumentalist, and a composer and when he covers a song, as he has here, he does the arrangement to how he wants to perform it. He has trained in opera as well as jazz & contempory music. He was offered a place in The Astana Opera House, but turned it down as he wanted to concentrate on a neo-classic style, but has also performed rock, pop, jazz & even rap, & he does it all perfectly!

Hello!! Welcome to the Dimash era!!! The first time I heard Dimash I was surprised just like you. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My first songs I heard from Dimash were SOS and Sinful passion. You will be tied up like all of his "dears”. That's what Dimash calls his fans and there are millions of us around the world. Dimash was born into a household of musicians. At age 5 he began training at a music school where he was diagnosed with "absolute pitch." At age 6 he won his first piano competition. He continued his studies and graduated from the University of Classical and Contemporary Music. He has a master's degree in composition and is pursuing a doctorate in musicology. He is a multi-instrumentalist (6), as well as a vocalist and composer. He has ventured into acting, audiovisual direction, dance, advertising modeling (he is 6.3 feet tall). He has won countless awards and honors throughout his career. The most surprising thing is that he is barely 30 years old. He speaks Kazakh (native language),Russian and English and studies Mandarin Chinese. He sings in 14 languages. Finally I will tell you that above all these characteristics, he is an extraordinary human being who loves peace, respectful of his parents, family and culture and the best ambassador of his country to the world!!!

Welcome to Dimash. You have no idea what he can do with that voice. He does any genre he wants and sings in about 16 different languages, although fluent in his native Kazakh and Russian with English now a 3rd with a little Mandarin thrown in for good measure. Dimash is a 30-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world.
He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway, but it does happen sometimes😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads, RnB and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 15 languages. He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. At his concerts he tells the audience that he has given concerts in many countries and repeatedly emphasizes that he loves everyone in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His recent concerts were in Prague and Düsseldorf (end of November 2024). It was so amazing and it lasts more than 3 hours. I still haven't really arrived in the here and now😅. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, that you've seen the best and that it's impossible for it to get any better, you realize you're so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He is constantly his biggest competitior to get better and better. He is a real perfectionist. He's a singer you can't put in any box.
He sings almost every genre there is and likes to try new things. You can't compare him to any other singer on this planet. He has so many different music genres and styles. He loves Freddie Mercury, but also Michael Jackson, Lara Fabian, Luciano Pavarotti and Eminem and you can also hear that one or the other has an influence on some of his songs.
Every time you watch a new video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing and always a little different. Not only can he sing perfectly and his performances are outstanding he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.
He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audiende to be seen or heard.
SOS is a song in the French rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. And of course the language is also French.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.
I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 21 so I can imagine…). The other competitiors might not have taken Dimash seriously at first because of his age and that they didn’t know him but that quickly changed after the performance of SOS, as you can see. Through his honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today.

He is levels above others. Just turned 30 years old. Started musical studies at 5 years old. Master’s degree, soon completes doctorate. Studied opera, contemporary and more. Offered position in Opera House but turned it down to establish his own combined neo-classical , Kazakh and other genres. Sings, composes, directs, arranges, writes screenplays, acts. Practices 3+ hours daily, swims for breath control, no alcohol, drinks at certain temps. He is a musical athlete and trains daily. Plays many instruments. All genres- opera, neo-classical, pop, rap, on and on. Chills, goosebumps, tears, wide open mouths, holding breath, saying WTF?! are common reactions even if hearing for 100th time.

📌 Part 1: Welcome! Who is Dimash Qudaibergen? (pronounced: Dee-mahsh Koo-deye-bear-ghen)
Dimash Qudaibergen (Dinmukhammed Qanatuly Qudaibergen) was born on May 24, 1994 in Aktobe, Kazakhstan. He is 1.91 m (6.3 ft) tall.
Dimash is a singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, actor, video director, screenwriter and entrepreneur who has received the title of Honored Artist of Kazakhstan (2019), People's Artist of Kazakhstan (2023) and many other significant awards around the world.
Dimash Qudaibergen was very fortunate to be born into musical 'royalty'. Grandfather was a professional dombra player, grandmother was a teacher and sang. His mother Svetlana Aitbayeva has a classical education (not opera singer). His father, Kanat Aitbayev, is also a singer, songwriter and producer. His parents are known throughout the country and are “Honored Music Artists of Kazakhstan”. Both have been seen on the big stages and on television in Kazakhstan for many years.

According to Kazakh tradition, Dimash grew up with his grandparents. He calls them mom and dad and for a long time thought his parents were brother and sister-in-law. They all live together in one house.
Dimash said: "Open my heart, you will find music. If you open my brain you will find music. Music is my life."
Dimash wasn't a child prodigy, but he always wanted to be a musician and grew up surrounded by music. As a young boy (2 years old) he would often sit in the audience at his parents' performances and run onto the stage when they bowed at the end, and he did the same. While other children drew cars or princesses, Dimash drew a music studio and the instruments.

In his childhood, Dimash trained in taekwondo. He achieves his enormous lung capacity through targeted swimming and diving training, he dribbles very well with a football - ruclips.net/video/kt_lokOZLWw/видео.html and because his dears are important to him, he even takes additional dance lessons. Dimash's role models include Lara Fabian, Pavarotti, Igor Krutoy, Andrea Bocelli, Celin Dion, Queen and most importantly Michael Jackson.
He has been making music since he was 5 years old and has a perfect pitch. He has university degrees in piano, classical/opera, contemporary music and jazz with a major in singing. Dimash also completed a musical master class on Broadway and has a master's degree with a concentration in composition. He completed his studies with honors. He has composed 17 of his own songs so far.

With his 'soprano voice', Dimash did not fit into the traditional image of a singer in Kazakhstan and was heavily criticized in his youth. Even his singing teacher forbade him to sing in falsetto (interview with his first singing teacher - ruclips.net/video/V7hkcKYAnhg/видео.html ... but Dimash was undeterred.
As a child he performed at concerts and took part in various competitions. In 2012, Dimasch won the Grand Prix of Kazakh young singers “Schas Kanat” (“Young Wings”). In the same year he received first prize in the Ukrainian TV competition “Vostochnyi Bazaar” (Oriental Market), and a year later he won first place in the Kyrgyz international festival “Making Asia”. In 2015, Dimasch won the Grand Prize of the Belarusian music festival “Slavyansky Bazaar” (Slavic Market) - a milestone in the young singer's career.
The career jump to global megastar came in January 2017 after his participation in the Chinese singing competition with well-known professional singers “The Singer 2017”.
In 2016, Dimash turned down the offer of an engagement at the National Opera in Astana (capital of Kazakhstan) because he wanted to go his own way. He created his own genre: neo-classical combined with classical, folklore and other styles like pop, rock, R&B and jazz. We lay people say “Popera”. Dimash not only sings in all genres, in some of his own compositions he brilliantly combines a wide variety of genres and styles and never ceases to amaze us dears. Dimash cannot be pigeonholed. 😃
Every song that Dimash sings is rearranged by himself and adapted to the respective performance. This means there are often several versions. His best friend Yerlan Bekchurin as a soundmanager and soundproducer implements Dimash’s creative ideas.
Dimash is independent and has full artistic control over himself. His father founded the company "DimashAli" with a friend (his son's name is Ali).
I really get tickled watching first timers to Dimashs songs. They are just so precious to watch. I’ve watched and listened to him for over a year and I had the same reaction . My jaw kept falling and his songs lived in my brain for a while. lol!
