This hack is really something else. In a bad kind of way. I do not recommend to play it, unless you want to start smashing everything in your vicinity in rage. Yeah, it's THAT notoriously evil. The amount of pixel-perfect jumps is over 9000, there are really unfair design decisions, like invisible platforms (there are ones that are pointed out by a few rings, and there are some completely invisible ones), sometimes you are given a ring or a shield, which you have to carry somewhere, because there are some places you can't get past without receiving damage, also knowledge of certain glitches is required, because sometimes you can't complete a level without glitching your way through somewhere.
Trust me, even with the savestates you're most likely to curse the entire existence on our whole planet. You've been warned.

I'm sure you're TASing it, but you certainly make it LOOK easy.
You should do one where you don't TAS it, show deaths and all. Though, if you do, put an infinite lives code so you don't have to deal with game overs.

Actual effort went into making this hack. Each level is unique in its brutality. It really speaks to how talented the creator is that they managed to create more than a a dozen unique levels of psychological torture.
And to top that off im pretty sure they playtested the ENTIRE game to see if the stages are beatable.
Fun fact: "Kaizo" means "I hope your emulator has save states, because you're going to need them!" (TL note: translation might not be accurate.)
This now gives me a better reason to say that my hack has a bit of kaizo difficulty
The real translation means something like "re-arranged" or "remixed"

I love how even though this hack tries to be as unfairly difficult as possible, they moved Labyrinth Zone to the end of the game, gave it a final boss theme for its track, and then barely changed the boss "fight" except for one jump near the beginning. I think that really says something about Labyrinth Zone, and Act 3 in particular...

In Bad Time Zone, for extra unfairness, the developer could’ve given the colored bones their effects. If the bones are blue, don’t move, if they’re orange, move.

Well it is stupidly difficult but I don't see what's so Kaizo about it. It just looks like a cheap excuse to have spikes, blind jumps and badnicks everywhere instead of having challenges that test your knowledge about the original game's mechanics like what the original Kaizo Mario had despite how hard it was.
3:55 "Kaizo" or not, having off screen spikes at the end of Act 2 of Green Hill Zone is just a plain up d**k move.
I'm not into Kaizo hacks since I'm not a fan of abusing save states just to get past one difficult jump but looking at this, I don't think I can see fans of Kaizo hacks enjoying this, considering I've seen some kaizo levels for Super Mario World and Mega Maker that do a better job of using the existing assets to make some crazy yet somehow satisfying challenges.

I don't know why most of these hacks don't get the part where it is actually possible to beat Kaizo Mario World without savestates.
It's not bad enough seeing this awful, awful stage design, this hack is an aesthetic nightmare, and the songs are even worse. Actually knowing some of these songs makes that hack even worse.
+Kaike The Humanhog there are just a few acts passable without saves, but there are many places that are just rng in terms of passing them. You have to rely on pure luck, because the cycles often get messed up and there's no way back, or no way to wait for a needed cycle and seeing in which state the cycle is. Razor managed to beat Green Hill without saves, but then he decided it's not worth the trouble, so he had me (Zenon) record the whole thing with saves. I have much inferior skills at gaming, but I'm a little more persistent, and even then recording with saves almost drove me nuts. I really like hard challenges, but I like fair ones, where you at least can see what hits you. In Kaizo Sonic, there are places where if you jump in a tad bit wrong way, something invisible kills you, just because you're not supposed to go that way. Or when you have a complete legit looking way to go in Gold City, which leads into a trap, while the intended way to go is glitching through the wall and jumping on a bunch of invisible platforms. The game os also inconsistent with the times you can jump/get through/stand between spikes, and when you can't. Sometimes Sonic goes through quite the tiny gaps, but sometimes you think you can also jump/stand in the middle the same looking gap, but you just can't. You know, it's easy to tell you passed it, because you as the creator know how to beat it. And even then, I watched your ways of completing some of the levels, you get way too lucky with some patterns, so unless I see the game beaten on stream, I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to believe it's possible to beat without saves.
Even then, I know that this hack's purpose is to enrage people, and it's doing it's job quite good, but imo, it's the same as insulting someone and then saying, that the purpose of these words was to make someone feel bad, and it's fine, since the words achieved their purpose. I remember, when we beat something like S3&K: The challenges, or even S3 Master Edition, and when I struggled to finally beat something, I felt a little bit happy on the inside, since a completionist in my heart was satisfied. In this hack, even if you manage to beat a single act, you don't feel like you achieved something. I myself just feel like I finally got lucky enough to pass. Sometimes it was fun trying to even figure out want to do using the savestates, but other moments, especially with the conveyor belts in the beginning of the act are just cringe worthy.
Not to say that as the creator, things look easier for you since you play them over and over. I had the same problem with difficulty and cheapness in my hacks caused by this aswell.
Kaike The Humanhog this hack IS NOT good, the engine isn't an excuse you could've made actually fair acts with sonic's physics. But no, you just decided to put spikes everywhere and call it a day, bottom line, this hack is bad.

This makes my anxiety scream by just looking at it. I don't know why but I also can just feel the rage that game produces just emanating off it. Brave few dare to try to toil with the insanity and torture that this game provides and I'm honestly sad to say that I will not be one of those brave few this time around

And "Velberan" is the guy that said "FALOOOW" (That is a kind way to say "Bye" in Portuguese, this became an inside joke/meme in his channel that became popular between other Brazillian YTbers). Also, I think this romhack was specifically made for Pai Troll, because of the Level Clear Music and the SEGA logo, that is parody of brazillian music known as "Tuts Tuts Quero Ver" (Tuts Tuts Let Me See), and he made a parody of it as "Puts Puts Vou Morrer" (Puts Puts I'm Gonna Die), and hearing this in a Sonic romhack is really funny xD

Update: Now that I have a more keen eye for games, I can say this. This game, despite being evil, is really well designed. Evil? absolutely. Unfair? positively. However every jump here is OMEGA precise and hearkens back more to a precision platformer if anything else. What holds this hack back is that it takes the percision platforming formula and applies it to Sonic, a game which relies on momentum AND speed as core mechanics. I feel like if this level design was used with more simple controls, (i.e SMB, IWBTG, Super Mario) then it would be ALOT more bearable.
Update 2:
Upon playing this further, Kaizo Sonic enters a strange realm on its own where it breaks all known rules to platforming to do its own thing. Its out of line, but its pretty fine..

Fun Fact: this hack was made for a Brazilian RUclipsr called "PAI TROLL" he always gets TRIGGERED in Super Mario Maker because he always play Kaizo games like Mario 664 and others.... and this hack was made by a Brazilian
The game would be better if it were played on a PAL console (using a music correction patch and resolution patch), along with switching to a 12.5 or 13.6 MHz overclocked 68010. Assuming it can even run on a 68010.
The slightly slower, but far more consistent framerate would make the game a lot more playable. The increased resolution would allow you to see more of what was going on, too.
What would really improve the game though, would be if you could keep your rings between acts and zones, and only lost, say, half of your rings every time you got hit (at a minimum of 10 rings). Sonic's Insta Shield from Sonic 3 would also be helpful here.
But hey, the music is pretty awesome, at least.
There are even helpful glitches to end the course, and at the end of the course music is very cool. I love music at the end of course🔊

It's probably just me, but some of the music in the hack sound's alright. Green Hill, Invincible, and Speed up.
Gotta love how blatant the credits are in showing rings, before they started rolling I thought the most trollish the game would get were the ring boxes after the final boss. I was wrong.
It really says something about how many times green hill has been reused recently when this hack does more creative things with it then any recent Sonic game.

I'm finding it unfortunate this is for the most part a troll/rage inducing hack with the art and music. It would have been a nice hack showcasing a bad future of sonic 1 in a sonic CD style. This shit is more insane than ERAZOR and even that has been toned down and actually made possible with updates to it.
