Idk I find it kinda ironic that the Ong mother says how personal information shouldn’t be revealed on the internet but she literally has an entire blog dedicated to what the family does.
India father serve his grown son breakfast in bed only happens in dream Land. Singapore family should shop in bulk once a week in Malaysia where their money can buy 3 times more.
No such thing in my family here in Malaysia.. I have to cook and serve my parents instead.. Everyone eat together at the table. Bulk shopping will save more cash.
Jack of all trades but a master of none. The Chinese girl has arrived at nowhere despite having been through all kinds of learning courses in music/dance etc for years. That's because her parents were trying to live out their passions and interests through her by giving her all these lessons without actually finding out what truly interests her and work on her talent instead. It's sad that nowadays many parents have too much expectations from their kids and want them to outperform others instead of themselves. Kids have too much on their plate which cause undue stress on them. Most end up grappling with the learning process and rob them of all joy in learning.
I don't understand the homeschooling aspect, especially given that the Singaporean parents are both *trained MOE teachers* She mentioned that it's difficult for the kids to clear their Chinese PSLE (I assume they were fine in their other 3 subjects). If you're trained teachers, 1) You should already be familiar with the syllabus (and if not cause yes, they do make changes to the syllabus, LOOK IT UP. You have resources, utilize it) 2) You know the Singapore syllabus is different from the one you're using yet, you're surprised if they fail the first time round? It's not a sudden change to the "PSLE track". *PSLE HAS BEEN AROUND FOR DECADES BTW* 3) Even if you home school them, they still need to sit and pass their national exams no matter how much you want to deviate from the regular curriculum. 4) She educates her children by "scaring" them that if they fail, they have to go to school. (And it terrifies Isaiah???) What exactly are they teaching?
Her mother is teacher .... I thinks he will teach their kids more good than schools ... the kids only missing social interactive that’s it .... but paying for all the kids is will a lot burden
When I am A kid, I never attend any extracurricular class, I woke up whenever I want, I slept whenever I want, I study whenever I feel like it, This were the words that I've been thought, " as long as you get the job done you are free to do whatever you want ". Today I am more successful than any of my peers who did all those extra tuition extra class stuff and got their childhood ruined.
Great news! Our newest season will be premiering on our website on 24 June. Watch it first at cna.asia/family-affair-s4, before it's uploaded on RUclips.
Rarely do Asian parents ask their kids what they want. And I think that the S’pore family has to start letting go of their kids. Monitoring and controlling their 24 hours is unimaginable to me. No soc media and home schooling are killer combo. And these are kids across age gap. This has been the 2nd time that I’ve seen the Indian household eating on the bed. Is a dining table uncommon? It’s the S2 family issue as well (whether to have a dining table or not) Fascinating.
You can't say we didn't plan to have 6 children.... there is what you call family planning, responsible parenthood, etc, im sure in big city like Singapore, they have that, and you have that
I notice they are Christian so maybe they are reluctant to use birth control but I think it is a little irresponsible to have many children unless you have the resources.
You can really see the difference between the generation gap. The grandma and parents not being open the the daughter in the Chinese family. The parents being very controlling to their 6 kids in the Singaporean family. I think the Japanese mom is very tired of her life but it's what her routine is. And i think the Indian family are still trying to shift after the passing of the mother.
This shows that it doesn’t matter what your nationality is parenting is always a challenging business full of ups and down and the teenage years can be testing - it’s a balance between guiding and pushing them while encouraging them to be independent and responsible and be contributing members of society. The Chinese grandma is pushing her grand daughter away being so critical, Indian father is not doing his son any favours by waiting on him hand and foot but he is lucky the sister is so caring and involved. The Japanese mother needs to develop her own individual interests so she can create an identity outside of being a mother - just my opinion tho! The Ong family is impressive and there seems to be a lot of love and strong family bonds which is admirable but the kids are very sheltered and need to learn how to function in society - as a parent you have to learn how to let go. They are depriving their children of interactions with other children their own age.
well for muslims Ramadan changes your sleep schedule you have to fast from 4 am to 6 pm that means sleeping at 5 to 7 am and waking up at 3-5 pm its complicated
the japanese daughter needs to honor her mother, better. being a housewife/mom is just as fulfilling and comes with sacrifices and stress like any other career. A stay at home mother, is a rare blessing now days -the daughter is so fortunate to have her mother's love and care. One day when her mother is gone, she will be regret her lack of respect towards the housewife/mom role - regret for taking that for granted.
It’s different case with this GM .... this kids don’t have autistic ... even if ur kids have autistic the pschycology still ask ur kids to have therapy and sosial environment for their development ....and u can hear the little girls she afraid for traveling ???? Kids should play outside having friend ... this kids will having phobia when come having communication to other people ... they even can’t control what their saying when make video with their brother ... that’s will make them hard to judge what person that good and bad or danger
Im feel sorry for Chinese kids... having parents and grandparent like that only make kids depress and hate them ....she don’t practice because she not lazy it because they hate parents force them to do it...
I feel that the ong family shouldn't be controlling their kids this way like how the mother wants to follow the kids way. And what happens when the kids grow up, instead the mother should teach them how to be more independent
Homeschooling? I wish my kids could be homeschooled. If it is done in a good way, it will be much much better than going to the exam factory, I mean school.
Mom: "Why you go get the yogurt??"
Child: "4 for $2"
Mon: "then get more lah"
HAHAHA
Typical singaporeans(including me).Even if our family only got 6 or 5 people still we very crazy over offers.lol
lol i had the same reaction
Idk I find it kinda ironic that the Ong mother says how personal information shouldn’t be revealed on the internet but she literally has an entire blog dedicated to what the family does.
The sg mother should learn to let go. Controlling her kids and making them do things her way is not going to help them when they enter society.
see her face know alr. One Kind.
The Japanese mother and daughter looks like siblings. Can't believe they're 29 years apart
yeah..the daughter looks much older than her age
I thought there r sisters too..ehehehehehe

legend has it !! the grandmother is still on the door trying to wake her grandaughter
Does anybody hear the ringing sound it literally hurts my ears
Omg I thought it was just my headphones! I heard it too at times
Usually only hear it when the s’porean family talks. First time I heard it I was afraid my AirPods were broken.
@@LonelyPine same here I thought I broke my headphones it's really not a nice sound

This is quite odd and not sure it is healthy for the children if they do not learn independence and how to interact with society.
Only 1% of all kids fail PLSE but ALL her kids did?! Homeschooling is failing them.
Seems like there's lots of love in the Singapore family. Their flat looks organized. Surprised to see that the kids are homeschooled
Education is expensive!

Singapore family have you ever tried buying in bulk you will save a lot
If you are an educator, you do realize interaction with other children is important. Duh.
They need some Vitamin D too. Kids cannot be cooped up inside all day.
you know whats funny that mom kept saying that the internet is dangerous and risky but she is on yt bahahah thats funny
Never been to a cinema?! And their mum doesn’t let them watch kidding scenes omg ...... I was watching desperate housewives at 11 HAHAHAHAHA
The 16 year old Chinese girl is going to go hungry fast if she plans on making a living rapping.

The Japanese mother needs to try and nurture her own interests and identity. She seems quite depressed and lonely.
What's wrong with the grandma? If she wants to sleep, then let her sleep. Would she be happy if people force her to get up? Obv not. Then?!?!
maybe during her young times she experienced the same, so feels the need to do the same to other young ones. haha
Season 3 is here !! GREAT JOB !!!
screen facing outwards???? no concept of privacy.....
Just so u know, the Singaporean couple just gave birth to their 7th child on 9/8/2019

Ong family is very very very strange, they will end up living on their own and their children wont have any social skills, bunch of weirdos
Can someone tell me why the word lah is said at the end of everything and what the meaning is?!? Just curious
I could not live with that grandmother lmao
Everyone: Middle class
CNA: Rich people
The ongs are seriously Ong haha
Omg the Ong family is living in Yishun! Haha same as me :)
??? The mother from Singapore doesn't sound like an educator??
Her kids are independent learners.
How is that dictatorship?
She is protective of her kids.
