I'm in the horde also. I was intro'd to this cal by a friend and after deciding to replace my 11.5 " 5.56 barrel. I've gone to 500m after 40 rds, boy what an upgrade. As I cannot use an AR to hunt with(I live in Canada so its not legal), I will be looking at a bolt action in this caliber.

@Claudette Birelyruclips.net/video/lLIOdm8Ieyw/видео.htmlI've gotten my load down so I can sit at my range at 500m, and can 'plink" at a 8" steel. I am able to shoot 1.5 MOA @ that range, I'm getting 4 founds in 5 " but theres always one in the five that doesn't want to cooperate !

I just purchased an almost identical upper. I think the only difference is that mine is FDE and Black. I put a rock River dual stage trigger in it. The muzzle brake is back ordered so that is the holdup on shipment. Your review just confirmed my purchase. My son also has one identical to yours. We both went with Athlon 8x34x56. GREAT VIDEO!

Just curious what bullets and weight of bullet do you shoot for hunting??? I've been shooting the 100 or 120gr TTSX but I can't hardly find them anymore so looking for a different bullet around that weight. I do a lot of thermal hog hunting, deer hunting, and long range shooting but I've built 2 complete rifles in 6.5 Grendels now a 20" for long range and an18" for hunting.

I have two grendel uppers from Sanders Armory and one I am building with a Faxon 18 inch heavy fluted match barrel. I am getting insane groups with my Sanders grendels. hitting 200 yard 2 1/2 inch steel plates, no miss 10 in a row. average .612 and days with .4 depending on ammo and wind using Hornady SST, BlackA-Max and American Gunner. I have around 120 rounds of steel Wolf. I fired a few mags and they were pretty impressive also. The Grendel is by far My favorite round of all. Thank you so much . @@stevecampbell3175 energy is a potential. A potential that Is wasted by poor bullet design. If you shoot a white tail with a solid copper slug that produces 4000 pounds of force at impact distance. It still won't down the animal as effectively as a 80gr match round above minimum impact velocity with only 500 pounds of force. EXPANSION is king not energy. Look into terminal balistics. It changed my whole view on hunting.

I would love to find a really good lighter 24 inch 6.5 Grendel barrel/ The Sanders is a bit heavy for anything other than a bench shooter. I would love to add the 120 fps to this round. It would inch it even closer to the 6.5 Creedmoor. I may go bolt in 6.5 creedmoor, but love the AR15 platform and 14 round mags.

Do you happen to still have this rifle with the Grednal hunter handguard? I'm looking to get the same one but the 19" version that will go with a 20" barrel. The only issue is the Rifle Speed adjustable gas block might not reach far enough out the from of the handguard to adjust it. Could you get me the dimensions of the handguard measuring from the top and the bottom. I'm assuming the 19" will be 19" from the bottom, but if the top is say 17.5 then that would work perfectly. I just need to know if its at least 1.5 inches that the slant cuts off.

I recently got an all matching 6.5 mm Swede Mauser made in 1900 stamped right on top of the receiver ring...it shoots like magic...at 100 yards and 65 year old eyes and iron sights...I fired 3 rounds...they hit 7 inches high and two rounds were less than 1/4" apart...third round went high and to the right 1.5 inches from the other 2 rounds...I'll take that since lowest sight setting is 300 meters...so it would be dead on at 300 meters...I was going to change out front post sight to get it hitting at 100 yards...Long Range shooter said: Why don't you leave it like it is? It made sense...just aim 7 inches low at 100 yards...I left the rifle alone like it was made in 1900...it's a good decision to not alter the sights.
