Everyone should. This is one of the things South Asian countries lack
It's a political tactic. Waiting for the translator give him extra time to think what to say.
as a president, it would be faux pas of him to speak in a different language. He represents Russia. He speaks For the Russian people and To the Russian people.
A downside though is he's leaving it up to the translator to carry across the meaning of his words properly. It's easier to make him look worse to the general English speaking public that way.

@@napoliansolo7865 you're right man I can speak 4 languages but when I have to describe complex situation I do it best in my own native language. I think in my own native language when I am in a flow state. When i speak it, it's just like blurting out my thoughts aloud. But when it comes to other languages i find myself searching for precise words that fits a particular situation appropriately.
