I love more than anything. The size of the pixel 8 but all the technology is in the pro version so we're kind of forced to go with the larger option if you want to get the most out of your camera. 7 years of support is ridiculous. Well worth it
exactly! If I could get the compactness of pixel 8 and the features of pro for a higher $$$. I'll gladly pay for it even same as Pro models. Google should really think about this and make another device like Pixel 8+ to cater to both worlds and that probably become the highest seller.

There is no PAL settings in video (25 50 100fps). For that reason I want be buying it. If there was an anti flicker setting that would have helped. Coming from the Pixel 6 pro where the price was my reasoning, I can't justify getting the Pixel 8 pro. The 6 still works and has been a great device thus far.
My main problem with the Pixel 6 Pro is the underwhelming fingerprint sensor. It is slow and dodgy. Maybe a small thing but it is also the thing you use constantly. Getting that unlock to be easy and fast and reliable is very important (to me, at least).
@@krisg900 So far, the camera has been fine, battery life no issue, it's still in great condition. I may just end up upgrading if my phone's screen gets cracked or battery no longer is taking a charge, but for now I am sticking with it.
Well if its being used on the human body for medical issues I would have thought that was obvious, if you're going to rely on it it's got to be accurate. It will probably have to be approved by the EU as well
I initially ordered the Google Pixel 8. Then I saw how much the pro was getting in terms of video modes and camera modes and had to begrudgingly order the pro model. This is the first year that the pro model feels like the one you should get and the regular model is for plebeians and simpletons who only care about a good photo. Google definitely did the regular model dirty this year.
For the 'Read Aloud' feature it would have been nice if the algorithm could get the author's name from the article and look for any voices/videos available for that author and then read the article in his voice.

Still no video out on the USB. Can you USB even put out enough power to connect a portable NVME / SSD? I like that apple can do that now without a split cable. A shame the selfie camera on the 8 doesn't autofocus. Also a shame they still use the optical fingerprint sensor - sonic or old capacitive on the back / side would be preferable
Would get it if it didn't have an ugly hole punch in the top middle, makes the phone look generic. Would much rather prefer a top bezel like the galaxy s8.
