Thanks to reddit-users noodledrop and ASharpYoungMan for pointing out that mechanics-wise, the creation of a ghoul requires 1 BP to be spent. Although less blood can help with the bond, for the recipient to be able to use any of the advantages that comes with imbibing vampiric blood, they need that BP.
Hunter: The Parenting audiolog 3 tells that once vampire dies for good, its body will break down to shape it should have been, had the invidual died in day/night when embraced. Let's say if there's a ghoul who had lived hundred years. If that ghoul has vitae denied, would he age up and die?
@@Dahaka-rd6tw that is correct! A ghoul stops aging the moment they consume vitae but once their body runs out of it they begin aging rapidly to their natural age, meaning a very old ghoul will turn to dust quickly.
Not only are ghouls loyal servants, they are loyal to a fault, tell a ghoul to guard you while you sleep and they will interperate that command as to literally stand still and watch over you, not moving an inch all day, to their own detriment, and the Kindred waking the next evening will be greeted by the pityful sight of a starving ghoul, who stinks of of their own waste when they releaved themselves on the spot since they were too afraid to even go to the bathroom! Wiser and more experienced Kindred soon learn to carefully word their commands to their ghouls, as a poorly worded command could lead to disastrous consequences, despite the ghouls best intentions.
One very interesting thing about ghouls is that if they are smart, cunning and coldblooded they can become important enough for a domitor to the point where it has the trust of the complacent vampire. And when that happens the ghoul is potentialy capable of turning the tables on the hapless vampire.
Don't underestimate ghouls. The main antagonist of the CYOA book, VTM Night Road is a ghoul who had successfully captured and fed off of vampires for centuries. She was kinda scary, having led the second inquisition in the sacking of several cities in the American Southwest to clear out the vamps.
I find playing Ghouls far more satisfying to playing Thinbloods. You feel more connected to Kindred Society as a Ghoul, and are definitely less loathsome. Kindred often times can treat their Ghouls fairly well, even the less humane Clans. Tzimisce Revenants are maintained by Tzimisce but are also left to their own machinations and serve separate purposes. Bratovitches, Grimaldi, Obertus, and Zantosas. Bratovitches are wild savages, Grimaldi are the diplomatic Revenants in charge of public relations, Obertus are scholars and occultists, and Zantosas are hedonistic socialites.
Yeah! I always felt that ghouls were often underrated or forgotten in a lot of the games I played. They fill a very important niche! Thinbloods and/or Caitiffs I've always had a hard time enjoying, but that's my inner Diablerist rebelling.
I enjoy delivering Final Death unto them, only after I've tired of their screaming. Thinbloods can cry actual tears in some subjects, when foregoing my tender ministrations.
too slow406 • Ooh, that’s true too! I’ve been really hooked on the idea of playing a vampire in D&D, since I’ve yet to see it done. I’d probably change the the D&D enemy vampire lore though to make it more deep.
Absolutely, the kind of power dynamics that develop between kindred and their ghouls, and between ghouls themselves, are really interesting to explore!

FYI, in a healthy female, her blood will never come into contact with the fetus' blood. They only exchange nutrients through a membrane - the placenta. Therefore it makes more sense for pregnant ghouls to have their children unaffected by the vitae. I am just extrapolating here, but combined with some online info about how ghouls can have kids normally, the version of fetus pausing its growth is somewhat confusing to me. Is it perhaps a matter of different editions of the game?

Great video, I'm totally going to use that hook of a couple of ghouls feeding from a staked vampire!
Awesome! I'm glad I could inspire that; ghouls are definitely a threat that are easily underestimated by kindred who are used to bossing them around.

So can a human be ghouled without at the same time being bloodbound?
If you choose the *Unbondable* merit you can do that.
