Jenny - this is beautiful. But someone should say thank you. Missouri Star has brought so many generations to sewing through your tutorials. Without sewing being taught at school and with so many moms working crazy hours, no one has time to show their kids how to sew anymore. With your beautiful quilts and easy teaching manner you have drawn so many into sewing. You have also combined the tool that draws teens and young adults (social media) with a very traditional past time and preserved tradition that could have easily been lost. Thank you - thank you - thank you. Your tutorials are very easy to follow.

NOW, I am SURE that I died and went to Quilt heaven! LOVE this Quilt!! I have one single baby coming (I'm the GREAT Grandma!!,) and triplets, 1 day apart in December. This would make a perfect quilt for ONE of those 4 babies! In different colors, I may just make 3 for the triplets & a very different one for the single baby, such as Nine Patch + Rail fence. Bless you Jenny for all of your bouncy ideas & the CHARM of your teaching!! I do LOVE you from Idaho! AND, because of you the VERY FIRST thing I do after brewing coffee is to open computer & find your lesson!

I saw this awhile ago and wanted to make it. Now the Juicy Jewels are not available, WHaaaa!! I have a very artistic family and all 12 of my brothers and sisters (yes from same mom and dad) have sewing talent up the yingyang!! For about a year and half I have put together about 12 quilts all from these tutorials and have received a lot of ooo's and aaa's. Guess I'll use Vincent Vangoh roll up or Jinney Beyer's Galaxy roll up? I'm lovin' this quilting stuff. I am the one that got my dad's singing and played in a band for years..... At 57 I finally found something I can do for therapy from my Severe anxiety!! Thank-You so much Doan family and Mom, Jenny........

I'm going to dip into my stash to make this one. I have two Batik Jelly Rolls already. Plus, I opened a white charm pack to make some 2 1/2" squares already, so I can use up the rest for this quilt. I think I will make some white strips and mix them in with the colored strips to make the piano key border go all the way around.
I have some questions for you, Jenny. Obviously, you make a lot of quilts! Then, when you demo a quilt, you have more pieces/blocks for a second quilt. Do you actually make two identical quilts? Besides your children and grandchildren, who gets your quilts? Do you sell them in your shops? Donate them to charity? Raffle them off at church bazaars? Just curious.
BTW, my profile picture is of my first Jelly Roll Race quilt top (it's my 10th quilt) I made for my Granddaughter, Zoey. The name of the Jelly Roll? Zoey!

Hi Pat! Thanks for commenting! :) that sounds like an excellent game plan! We definitely want to see pictures! We normally do make 2 quilts for every tutorial and those quilts are used for shop samples, my traveling suitcase of quilts for when I teach a class, given as gifts and also donated! (My children also have a very large supply of quilts in their homes) We don't sell any of the quilts that we make. They find a home somewhere though!! :)

Oh thanks Jenny. I told my granddaughters I would make them a quilt for Christmas and wanted to know at least 3 of their favorite colors because I was planning to do one in the amazing jelly roll quilt pattern by 3 Dudes that you did back in Aug. 25, 2011. But when I found out that the youngest wanted hers in her school colors which are only Kelly Green and White I thought that will just not look as cool. THIS on the other hand is perfect. It already has the white and I can vary the greens and it will look fabulous. So glad I subscribe to your channel so that I get these great ideas. You are my number one quilter.

I have learned so much from you over the years and I am most defiantly going to make this quilt for a dear friend. She likes cheery yellows so I am going to Missouri star to look at the jelly rolls now. My only question is: What size is the finished quilt using the borders as you have them on the tutorial? The size is the only thing I seem to miss on the tutorials/ sometime the block size. Thanks you for all your help and spreading the knowledge throughout the years!

I found when using jelly rolls that have the pinked edges you have to be careful with a 1/4" seam as I found my blocks resulted in measuring 12" by 12 1/2" even tho my Janome has a perfect 1/4" foot. The pinked edges result in the jelly rolls measuring a bit smaller than 2 1/2 inches. I would prefer the jelly rolls be cut with a straight edge.

Thank you so much for this beautiful quilt. I’m looking for a Project Linus quilt for a teenager, and this is a good size and quick (I usually pick something too elaborate) and it looks really fun for the recipient!

I love all your quilts, but hardly ever do you make one that will actually fit a single, a full or a queen-sized bed? Do we just double the amount of the material measurements that you give us to make a quilt that will fit a real bed. Maybe a lesson in how to figure out how much material you need for each size bed?

Beautiful quilt. She didn't mention the binding. Looks like strips were used. Also, is there written instructions somewhere for twin, full, queen or king sizes?

I can't wait to get started. I ordered the blue jeans strip set to make this for my spare twin bed. Thank you so much for all the great tutorials.
