It's the Titan.......renaming it was a mistake
@@Designsecrets So it's one of the members of the Titan class. There were dozens of Fletcher-class destroyers built during WWII for the USN.
*_"Azteching"?_*
13:26 Captain Foley from Trekyards as background Cameo i didn't expect that.
I love that guy's style. Using a metal framework with the 3D print as a shell around it is awesome. More people should do that.
That’s really cool and really original !
Built to last a long time so future generations can enjoy Bill's work.
See what I said there?😉
should've used tubes, stronger
@@hterra2706
Either it's brass tubing or solid brass. Just as strong 💪.
@@JGG1701 I think you meant "The Next Generation". ☺️
That Excalibur is absolutely the best fan made ship I have ever seen, it looks more like a star fleet ship from the TOS era than any other ship I have seen. simply astounding.
That's because it's not a "fan-made" ship. He's a professional model maker.
@@davidrosoff3228 He may be a professional, but it's safe to say he is a fan - a big fan
Bill is such an amazingly talented Modeler. He’s one of the people whom gave me tips, tricks and showed me how to do certain things. Techniques I am using for my build of the Enterprise-F in 1/1400 scale! I hope to do him proud with this model.
Bills models are just incredible
Correct statement.
Love the captain Foley cameo
I saw Captain Foley from Trekyards too
Yes I hoping norm would bring him in to the interview
This is not the crossover thay are looking for.
Meh
Dude, sames! I was all like “TrekYards”
Captain Foley from Trekyards just hanging out in the background a 13:28 makes this even better 😄
lmaoooo
I was wondering if anyone else noticed him. Love Trekyards.
@@rhinoburger My jaw dropped when I saw him….I wonder if he saw this video???
God, I'm just in awe. The lights especially sell it so well as being real -- just an incredible job with the lighting. Of course the actual models themselves are fantastic as well, but the lights are just that final thing that brings it to life. Usually, I'll look at a model and be disappointed at how fake it looks compared to when it's onscreen -- no such issues here at all. Incredible.
Bill has some mad skills. He built the best looking 1:537 Enterprise Refit I've ever seen. He's a master modeler in my eyes.
Bill Krause is just incredible. So happy for him and his designs.
Awesome, AdmiralBuck designs are just wonderful. So glad he now has several of his designs in canon. Very much deserved.
Plus bonus Capt. Foley from Trekyards appears!
also immediately recognized Capt. Foley!
Capt. Foley lmfao
Its like when George Lucas wandered across the shot of a random documentary.
This guy's got amazing style, was geeking out over the Warp Nacelles on the Enterprise, taking style choices over some of the earlier ship designs. Truly impressive. 10/10.
That Excalibur refit needs to be canon. Amazing talent!
norm straight killin it with these geek out interviews. all the questions in my head as im watching the video and suddenly he starts asking them.
This coverage of Wonderfest has been outstanding. Thanks Norm!
I love Trek Yards photobombing Norm’s interview; a great mashup!
I just continue to stare at the Excalibur Model, looping the phrase, "it's so beautiful", because it is. Thanks for sharing!
The Enterprise G looks really awesome 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That Excalibur is so well done it is really beautifull to look at even if it's an older generation ship. All that work he put into it is incredible
Been following Bill for awhile because he's such a pillar and inspiration in the Star Trek model building community and its been amazing to see his designs get incorporated into Season 2 and Season 3 of Picard.
How did you know that I was just reading the Memory Alpha entry on the Enterprise G and getting a little teary-eyed thinking about its origin. Close Chrome, open RUclips, and here is this video... 5mins ago!
Big Brother 😳.
Using a bit of film with a rendered image behind the windows to add depth totally blew my mind. What a cool effect.
Damn that excaliber looks amazing. I love that design. It needs to be canon and featured on a show.
The enterprise looks like trash
I'm so insanely jealous of that model collection ( and skills ). Mine aren't bad, but that level of custom work is something else entirely.
That first model is absolutely beautiful. So many details and things to see. I'd love to see that in some production.
Yep and the enterprise looks like dog barf.
That Excalibur is a beauty and I can really see it being a later evolution refit to extend the life of a Constitution Class space frame.
Bill is a great artist, friend, and model maker. He inspires me to make a Trek model! So wonderful these videos are highlighting all of our Wonderfest Wonderfriends!
Trying to name drop for attention... yeah you are a great person, smh
Bill Krause is a legend! I loved seeing his models this year at Wonderfest, and I can spy my 1/20 Macross Super Strike Valkyrie in the background...so awesome!
The Titan/Enterprise G is indeed awesome but I am blown away by that refit Excalibur.
Fantastic! So wonderful to see Bill and his astonishing models. Much as I like the Neo-Connie E, Bill's Excalibur is, to my mind, the pinnacle of the 'Starfleet clean' aesthetic. It seems whatever starship Bill turns his hand to, it comes out beautiful. Thanks for showing his work to a wider audience.
The Star Trek Constilation Model is Absolutely GORGEOUS the interior scenes etc are just amazing... stunning. As a one time model builder long ago and far... far...away I have to attend this Show next year...this is The Gobsmack of Model Shows from the teasty tempting joy on display...OMG!
Love the Star Trek aesthetic.
Absolutely love his builds, they look so good. I'd love to own one one day.
OMG, simply unbelievable skills and patience !!!
A beautiful model for sure! I hope my 1:25 scale original Enterprise turns out even half as good!
I hope you either mistyped 1/250, or you have a HUGE modeling space for that 11.5 meter-long model!
@@MonkeyJedi99 No mis-spelling, the model will be 40 feet long and 11 feet high :-)
@@mrtrek2117 Wow!
Such talent. Fantastic model. So elegant. Beautiful lines.
Watched so many of the builds presentations on his youtube but loved getting to meet admiral buck, thank you!
Bill Krause is awesome!
Love how these designs flawlessly work in either the TOS era of starship design and the Picard era too. Shout out to Cpatain Foley from Trekyards 13:24
That ship is stunningly beautiful!
I’ve been following Bill for years. He’s a very talented and humble man. Great inspiration for others. Great to see his design’s getting recognized. 👍
Is he though? That ship is ugly.
Bill is a gent, the quality of work is amazing.
Fantastic!!
I like the blisters on the secondary hull for the torpedoe launchers.
Just fantastic..incredible workmanship.
Bill's the man!
Captain Foley wandering about in the background... nice.
I don't love all of his designs I've seen online, but his Excalibur is one of my absolute favorites. He really did a nice job of giving it his own touch without turning it into something that would look out of place in Trek universe.
Thanks. I do design these for myself. I don’t expect anyone to like them.
@@GCGBillIn my opinion that's the best philosophy to have as an artist. Do what you want to do because that's the way you want it be 🙂 It's a nice bonus if others like it, and I must say I really like them 😁
Captain Foley of Trekyards just casually chilling and taking video in the background!
AHHHHHHHHH. I need this on my desk so bad. That ship is so gorgeous!
Awesome models, obviously the work of a master craftsman. Good to see practical effects are still being utilized .
What a elegant and beautiful ship; So much better than lots of "oficial" Star Trek ships crieated since 2009.
Came for the Enterprise-G, stayed for the Excalibur, cheered for Captain Foley :D
Oh no, that's not entirely correct, I also came, stayed and cheered for Admiral Buck, of course!
Good to see a Space:1999 Hawk Fighter on the table.
I'm in one of the same Facebook groups as Bill Krause, and I always love the stuff he posts.
It's always great when fans design a new Star Trek hero ship. Especially when it's the Enterprise.
Splendid!
Awesome review of how they're made.
Every time I see that orb escape pod from 2001 I get goosebumps for how cool it is
His work is fascinating including adding metal frames.
Absolutely gorgeous paint job!
Love the Titan-A design. I wasn't too happy when they renamed it to Enterprise-G, but I've gotten used to it now.
Yeah for me the Titan never should of been renamed the Enterprise-G , They were gradually getting bigger and better equipped not a refit of a 20-30 year old ship.🖖👍
My god, that is beautiful!
Bill is a fantastic modeler! One of the best. I've got a friend who can afford his work and has ordered several ships from him! And let me tell you his work is stupendous!!! Beautiful execution!!! Attention to detail is remarkable! Plus Bill is a really nice guy!!!
How much did the models cost? I’ve been trying to look online and I haven’t seen an example of pricing, I’d LOVE to get a model commissioned some day!
You'd be the coolest kid on the block if you got one.
The Admiral is in ! Absolutely stunning work 😍 a ship worthy of the name Enterprise 🖖🏻
Stunning models and fantastic build quality. Genius!
Beautifully built model, job well done.
Beautiful ships.. I love the new Enterprise..
If this doesn't tug at your sci-fi heart strings, nothing will. I just want to be on the bridge of the Excalibur and take it all in when the captain says, "Take her out!". Ugh... Beautiful!!
Both of those ships are absolute sublime works of art. 🤩🥰👍👏
really good interview lots of info and the Enterprise G aka Titan A amazing work
Capt. Foley from Trekyards just casually in the back 😅
I'm sure there are lore reasons behind the design decisions, but ngl the G is what I wish the Abrams enterprise looked like.
That model of the Excalibur is beautiful. Wow. I would love the fly that in Star Trek online.
Just seeing the first 30 seconds of displays has me thinking I need to write to Santa Claus to tell him I've been a very good boy this year.
That Excalibur is a beautiful ship. Well done❤
Nice use of armature!
One of the greatest builders, and a heck of a nice guy.
So many people in here trying to get attention by name dropping or hinting at a name drop like you did... you all are sad.
An exceptional job like no one else as always!
That's absolutely gorgeous! 😊👍👍
I had intentions of attending Wonderfest, but I didn't get the models I wanted to finish for it completed in time and didn't have the PTO available even if I had. But I sure wish I had been able to, seeing these models!!
lol is that Capt. Foley in the BG geeking over the models?
respect to Mr Krause and his iconic contributions to Trek. that Excalibur Refit is a beauty.
also, so many people in the comments recognising Stuart in the background makes me smile.
I got distracted by the chap moving the Eagle Transporter about be hide of you both.
Those starships are stunning.
Captain Foley from @trekyards making a guest cameo!
What A Toy shop!! Santa would be proud...
Those are some amazing Trek ships. The Macross models in the backround look great too. The valkyrie, female power armour, and battlepod have some fantastic paint jobs.
By the way anyone else notice captain Folly from trekyards in the back at 13:28? I first learned about Bill and his amazing designs from trekyards.
@trekyards showing up at the end
Incredible work. I’ve collected as many renditions of the Enterprise as I could get my hands on over the decades. Most the larger scale I own are from Playmates Toys. I do have one Enterprise purchased about 1978-79 that the various parts can be placed here or there to build different ships.
I never found a larger scale Enterprise-C. Just what Micro Machines released in the 1990s.
I’d love to add this Enterprise-G to my collection if it becomes available.
But Enterprise (mine is a kit from the 1960s), Enterprise-refit (a kit from the 1980s), Enterprise-A, Enterprise-B (and Excelsior), Enterprise-C (micro machines), Enterprise-D, Enterprise-E, Voyager. And Enterprise from the new time line.
While not a fan of the retro look being pulled in to modern Trek Canon and not a fan of the Titan A being rebadged as the Enterprise G there is no denying that the design and model work on these is outstanding.
Great Video
Excellent work that he's done. I hope the studios will continue to use practical models along with the digital ones. Physical models do something more visually it seems.
The Enterprise -G is fantastic... 👍
This is SOOOOOOOO much of a better design then what they put out.. it is more believable and realistic.
Obsoletely beautiful models. Very awe inspiring.
That Excalibur model looks far better than anything in Abramsverse/DIS/SNW
Aaaand 13:25 we have Captain Stuart Foley.
I have never been a fan of the heavy Aztecing from the TMP era, though I think the TMP era Enterprise is my 2nd favorite ship after the original. But I love this Excaliber.
Awesome video Adam and norm sir thanks for sharing
all controversies aside, damn that G is actually beautiful
