    ノリントンのノンビブラート奏法が、聴いていると、劇的な要素は減っていますが、なんだか穏やかな気持ちにさせてくれます。

    really right amount of vibrato for the first violin solo at the end of 2nd mov. Most of performances are played with too much vibrato and sounds 'nervous'

    Horrible strings! Not the orchestra's fault - Norrington insisted on vibtrato-less playing.

      I hear NO "horrible strings" at all. String-playing with a flat tone is a refreshing change from the heavy finger tremolo we've customarily heard since time immemorial, and I hold Sir Roger to be the most pioneering director/interpreter among us today. JAT
