    Belize isn't just all about beaches. Last year we spent a week in Orange Walk, Belize, which is located by a river, with not a beach in sight. The landscape is absolutely beautiful in Orange Walk and one can take river cruises to the spectacular Maya ruins there.

    wow, what a crazy comparison in terms of infrastructure, all of Belize looks like Calidonia, which is the poorest street in Panama. English is spoken very well in Bocas del Toro, Colon, and neighborhoods like Rio Abajo, Paraiso, Chorrillo, with a high influence of Afro-Antilleans who came for the construction of the 1904 canal. Education in Panama teaches English in schools and at a private level, but just as they teach Spanish in the US IF YOU WANT YOU LEARN IT AND OTHERWISE YOU JUST PASS THE COURSE AND THAT'S IT... thank God it's a a country that does business with various countries in the world so it does not depend on the language... the dollar has been used since 1903 and it has a banking sector of more than 120 banks from all over the world. the largest cargo ports in both the Pacific and the Atlantic. the second largest free zone in the world, that is, you move merchandise without paying taxes that you can buy apart from all this, it is the only country that in a hundred years has not suffered damage to its economy due to depression since it has never had a central bank.. aside Of all this, it is a country where different nationalities live, as normal to see Chinese, Turks, Arabs, Jews, Spanish, English, European, South American, so it has a cosmopolitan gastronomy from every corner of the world, so you can imagine that as Panamanians you have to learn the different languages that exist in Panama would be too ridiculous

    Does language factor into things? I know that Panama is officially spanish but also very international. Belize is officially english but spanish is spoken quite a lot there these days. I'm monolingual so would panama be good for me?

    • @PanamaequityRealEstate
      @PanamaequityRealEstate  3 года назад

      Hey Greg, I think the language piece is actuallye one of the biggest differences in Panama vs Belize. As most people speak English in Belize, not the case in places like the grocery store, etc in Panama. Nearly everyone is friendly in Panama, meaning they are keen to "try" and communicate, and also likely to have someone very close (in the same company, or someone they can call) to try and translate.

    • @HectorGarcia-nb2ld

      Belize speaks very little Spanish and yes since English is the main language of the world by far, way far, a lot of English is spoken in Panama, if Panama was smart they should make English their official language then the country would not be poor like all spanish countries are... That is a fact

    • @gregwilmot3260
      @gregwilmot3260 2 года назад +2

      @@HectorGarcia-nb2ld thats very insensitive to say. I think it would be beneficial for them to increase bilingual signage and teach english as L2 in schools. But you can’t ignore years of culture and replace Spanish for the sake of growth. Japan, Germany and France are all huge economies who’s main language isn’t english.

    the thing i never hear about is crime when i watch these type of videos what is the gun laws if any for expats?

    • @rubennunez6064
      @rubennunez6064 3 года назад +2

      Hi there! buying guns in Panama is only possible for nationals and legal residents. Prices are almost double of what you would find in the US. There are a few gun shops from which to choose from. To obtain a gun, you have to visit the shop and purchase the gun. You must take a urine test to analyze for drugs. Additional forms are given for you to take a psychological test and collect DNA samples by government entities. All of the forms and tests are then taken back to the shop who, along with the gun, sends the complete package to the National Police for ballistics tests. Once given the Ok, a permit, will be issued for up to 5 years. The entire process will take 3-6 months before you receive your gun back with its permit. Once you have the permit, you're allowed to purchase the ammo.
