    No doubt you are the real deal! Great video and explanation. Can you disclose the brand of wire you are using? Is it a metal core?

    I appreciate your video and I’m sure it will help someone just starting out. I noticed in one of your replies to a previous comment that you said you were watching out for the boss so, I know it’s not your decision but, why would one want to weld that particular material thickness and bead size with hard wire? Seems metal core or gas shielded flux core would be a far more efficient choice.

      @GreatLakesReliance  7 месяцев назад +1

      ER 70S-3 is mild steel. The weld bead size is what they want. AWS Standards for bead size is Half the Thickness of the thinnest material. Thanks for the Comment. I’m here to help.

    Would you use a grinder with wire wheel to remove slag I think it would be quicker.

    Love his intent... then sticks his arm in front of the camera. LOL Wish the guy would stick a extra helmet over the camera/phone and stick it closer to the weld so we can see better. I'm wondering why no wire wheel rather than the needler. But... THANK GOD for no stupid muzak! I hate it when guys make welding vids into music vids.

      Why don't you show us how it's done lol? I don't imagine it's easy as an amateur to present, record, and weld, without a few rough edges.

    Wut??? wut??? iam kinda lost: a 0.35inch or 0.9mm wire, at 23.5V, at 615ipm or 15.6m/s THATS NOT A SPRAY TRANSFER. It doesn't matter what kind of welding gas you are using. More correct way to describe this transfer mode is intermediate or dip transfer. You kind SIR seem to be a experienced welder but... the welding proses DOES NOT sound like spray transfer nor the bead looks like one. With all due respect.

    • @anw8567
      @anw8567 6 месяцев назад

      Just one more thing a 0.35 wire on 3/8 plate is a waste of time.

    • @GreatLakesReliance
      @GreatLakesReliance  6 месяцев назад

      I Guess it's on the Edge of Spray going into Short Circuit Transfer. and we use 95/5 gas

    • @GreatLakesReliance
      @GreatLakesReliance  6 месяцев назад

      It's not 3/8 Plate. I'm putting down a 3/8 Fill it. 0.35 is what They want up to use.

      @anw8567 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@GreatLakesReliance ok, my bad... top plate looks like 50mm (yes Iam European).

    • @anw8567
      @anw8567 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@GreatLakesReliance ahh... (press X to doubt) i have very little experience running 0.35 wire... but i mainly run 0.40/1mm or 0.45/1.2mm wire. So the best and easiest way to tell when you are doing spray transfer is sound. There will be no that frying bacon BS, you aim for hissing. In YOUR case SIR i would recommend to start at least at 25v and around 400ipm. Of course every machine is little bit different, every wire as well. PS thanks for reply and would love to see what settings actually are needed for spray transfer in this case. Marry Xmas.

    I'm not really understanding why you're using .035 wire on such heavy material. I realize that you can make it work but time is money, this just seems stupid to me.

      That's what The WPS, says to use. I Just do what They Want. It's There Money.
