I'm an African-American male from Memphis,Tn. I grew up the 60's and 70's there was no racially motivated music we listen to the music that was good! These guys were good! Takes me back to high school!
I'm 53 and was whiter than a new refrigerator as a kid in the 70's. All my favorite artists were black artists or inspired by black music: Earth, Wind and Fire, Donna Summer, The Spinners, Hall and Oates, The Bee Gees, Michael Jackson, etc. My favorite baseball player was Jim Rice. Never, NEVER once, did I ever consider skin color to anything. It was about your talent and the ability to do something that had a positive effect on me. All of this "racism" stuff today is pure nonsense and is being artificially pushed and manufactured by people who benefit from pitting us against one another. No one should buy into it.
Makes me sad when the judge the color of skin to you skin ( if that makes sense) . Well I habe listening to mucin for ober 40 years and did not matter . GOod tune is a good is what makes my day.
Absolutely! I loved and played the heck out of AL Green, the Stylistics, the Ojays, Dramatics, etc as well as James Taylor, the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Orleans, etc. Good music isn't comfined to one ethnic group.

The secret to a successful marriage is 1.) DIVORCE is NEVER an option, otherwise why take a vow? 2.) A married couple always goes THROUGH problems in marriage TOGETHER, never ever around, over, or under problems. 3.) God's WORD and PRAYING together MUST be the bedrock upon which decisions are make and children are raised. You never give up!
Memories of my childhood. I remember being in the van w/my mom's friend Sandy. This was on the radio. A couple weeks later she died in a car accident. When I hear this song I remember her & relive my last moment with her. Old school music like this does that. Provoke memories & emotions; a time stamp of life.
+PatBenatarRulz Reminds me of sitting in the living room when I was a kid, on the orange shag carpet, listening to 8-tracks on my dads stereo. Feels so good to look back and remember.
It was the very first song I ever danced to when I was 14 at a camp ground in Massachusetts with a girl named Chip , completely innocent but all the other boys were pissed. Lol I'll never forget her. 👍 It was in "1975"
This song just pulls out of me raw emotion.. I'm not sure what it is? Subliminally it must be a reflection of time in my life of simplicity, it is filled with beautiful harmonies. I can only pray as I grow older and pass away this is the music that will fill the heavens when I am with my Lord.
Every generation has its own unique sound - like a tapestry of many colors, but a unique sound that instantly identifies the time where the song came from. For me, for the 80s and 90s its songs from the likes of U2, Tears for Fears, Ace of Base and any hairband tune - but laced with ole skool acts like NWA, Public Enemy, Grandmaster Flash, Eric B & Rakim...the list goes on. I hear this and I'm instantly transported to early childhood...good memories, those; the 70s were my early childhood but as you know with good music, the songs of bands like Orleans were played well into the 80s and beyond.
I remember when this was released in 1975, my buddy Richie was getting married and I was the best man. Well we had a party the night before and needless to say we all got ripped. So Saturday I'm running late to the church as it is and when I pulled up this tune just came on the radio and I couldn't get out of my car till it was finished. Crazy shit from back in the day...Peace
I am so sorry to hear about your loss....I hope this song will always ease your pain. Its my favorite. True love never dies. It just waits for us to catch back up to it.
Got my first dance and kiss from my middle-school crush to this dance. My childhood friend Tommy (RIP) pushed me into Danielle when this song started and we waltzed like a couple with two left feet LOL
Still, decades later, this song is one of my all time favorites. Among other times hearing it, I love hearing it in stores over the PA speakers, which is very rare. It stops me in my tracks.👌
Summer ‘75. My brother and sister and I were invited to a semi-formal at Mary Lou’s house in Glen Ridge, NJ. A bunch of 18-21 year olds trying to be sophisticated! Gin and tonics, wide lapels, gowns and rock ‘n roll on the stereo. The living room became an impromptu dance floor. Then one of the girls says she’s got this great new 45 and she puts it on the turntable. All the girls grab a guy and We Danced With Her! Song still resonates in my spirit...a transcendent romantic ballad...an all time favorite. And thanks Mary Lou for the invite!
I was twelve in 1975 and my parents had a guy come over to our house to give me guitar lessons. He asked me if I had heard of the song Dance with Me and would I like to learn it. At the time it was my favorite song! I couldn't believe he nailed that!
They sure dont make music like this anymore! I dont think they realized what a truly magical time they lived through. What a wonderful era musically! I was born a few decades too late. But i love this kind of music!
I love this song. What a classic. And seeing them perform it live is a pleasure. In those days there was Nothing but pure talent , no hiding behind an auto tune computer just your real vocals and a microphone. So refreshing.
Went to High School with Larry Hoppin right top on the screen, a great guy we were in homeroom together so he sat behind me and we both played instruments; we were both in a band but not together. Very sad to hear he is gone, we shared many ideas about songs and music in general, every morning waiting to head off to class. Rest in Peace Larry, hopefully see you in the next life.
I'm in my 70's now, married 40 years..my grandson asked me what my first words were to his grandmother when we first met..i told him "dance with me".... i just made it up to say "it's such a beautiful song"
This beautiful song was recorded in 1975, three years before I was born in 1978. The very handsome and very talented musicians Orleans are a delight to watch and perform this beautiful sing! Thank you for posting and sharing this classic performance! I love it!
Reminds me of Sept 1975, I was only 20 yrs old, I had just returned from a 13 month deployment in Okinawa when I was in the Marine Corps.Traveling to Camp LeJeune, NC. SEMPER FI
oleskoool248 I was on the Rock from Aug 74 to Sep 75. Most of my 13 months was with H&S Bn 3rd Force Service Regiment. March 75, I was TAD with H&S Co 1/9th Marines, helped with the Evacuation of Saigon. What a mess. Were you assigned to 9th Marines, 4th Marines, FSR, MCB, Air Wing? Did you ever serve in "Nam"
James Maxfield thank you James it was an honor to serve. I had 4 uncles and several cousins who joined or were drafted into the Army. I wanted to be different, so I joined the Marine Corps. To this day Im still the only family member who served in the Marine Corps. Semper Fi.
Not many percussionist that sing: Levon Helm comes to mind.... great harmonies! Orleans ( from NY state) brought the best in 70’s tunes. I’m glad to have lived it. Thx, Orleans; you made a difference! 🎸🎸🎸🎸
Hi, Marcus! True story. Wells Kelly (RIP), the drummer, and singer herd upper-left, played in my junior high band. My wife, Annie of The Burns Sisters, was on stage doing back-ups during Levon’s last performance of “The Weight” before he passed. It’s like a triangular connection through you my friend, a cosmic connection!
This long forgotten classic was reinvented for me the day I went to my first prenatal class in 1991 in Jacksonville, FL. My hormones were all over the place, but it was only this song that calmed me down. It was on my plalylist the day I gave birth Dec 3rd 1991. Will love this song forever.
Beautiful, Classic, Timeless, Song performed brilliantly by the very handsome, extremely talented, singers and musicians, Orleans are legendary! Beautiful, Classic, Timeless, Performance and Video!
70s , what an era. People wore authentic smiles on their faces because we were truly happy. I miss it so much,at least I can go back with the music. Today most people live sham lives and are miserable.
The 70's definitely was the best era for music. I'm from Dundee and every Sunday evening we'd - Mum, Dad and two wee sisters - listen to the UK top 40 UK charts where Bowie, T Rex, Andy Williams, Roger Whitaker, The Carpenters, Sweet would all shared the airwaves for a couple of hours.
12:45 am Saturday morning and I am sitting here thinking about the best time of my life. I had to look up this song and remind myself I had my time in this life and it was the time of my life. Every day it gets a little closer to being forever gone but who knows. Maybe there are other lifes we live. If so I would change a few things but not much. One thing's for sure. I'd live the fun all over again but next time I 'll stay up later and go out even more. I'll make even more memories to sit and look back on.
Shirley D thank you. i think i feel like this too. its not that life is over ... its just ive come to the part where it seems Memories are the only thing now holdin me to my youth. And i too would make more of them to think back on. but am so happy n thankful for the ones i have. must snap out of this. cheerio
Why could I not be alive during the time when music was different and good. I wish I had been born in the 70’s but that unfortunately was not the case with me.
I listen to this song and I'm transported back to that week in June 1975 when my Gina and I sat on the couch at her place and sang it to each other. I was 20 and she had just turned 16. That was the happiest week of my life. I still love you, Gina, and I always will. TC
Dancing to music like this with my swetheart back in the 70s took me to that special place of dreams and love where everything was possible and all my heart desired was granted, if only for a few minutes. We have lost those magical music moments. How I wish we could find them today . . .
January 2023 I turn 54 in 4 days 1/24. Love the bands similar to these guys too. Little River Band, Christopher Cross, and so many others. I think I learned to appreciate this era of music from my sister, 9 years older than me. I'm an 87's hair band kid 🤣. But love all genres from 60's to current. Even Jelly Roll.
I remember hearing all these great songs on the radio back in the 70's when everything was a much better and not a care in the world. If you got to grow up in the 50's through the 80's with all the golden classic movies & music, YOU were blessed!
A one off classic from times when money wasn't the most important thing in life. I remember having a BASF tape with this on, seals and crofts ,summer breeze, Forest rock the boat and let's go to.san Francisco. Happy tunes from happier times. Mid 70s was a wonderful time to be young. A totally different mindset.
It was more fun being 20 in the 70’s than it is being 70 in the 20’s

But we can still respect them for their display of what it means to them and others may feel a deeper love for this, much like you do for the artists you mention. Cheers, enjoy the music you love, respect it all for what its worth to the world if you can, don't sell yourself short on its idea of love and feelings expressed reflected from the notes played.
Shane Anthony You do know classic rock radio stations are a thing, right? I hear this all the time on the radio, in IA and MA.
Adhesive Boi
Good point but I think it depends where you live. They don't all play classics from the 60's-80's
Shane Anthony True. I mean most radio stations are drab, yeah, but I have a fondness for radio, so wanted to defend it.
Remember this one, we married this year 1975 still together after 42 years what a woman!
Me my wife married I. 1977 42 years later and still here.
You never give up!
wow-- makes me cry a little. We believed in so many beautiful things . . still do
so true.
How well-said. Thank God for our memories which no one can take away.
Still do.
Don't stop beleivin'
Music you can love as a youngster and not be ashamed of when you're much older. Good times! 😊
+PatBenatarRulz ......yep former 70's kid (and 80's teen)here..i can vouch for just about everything you said in that comment
That's so true
This group was soooooo good!
Superb vocals as usual for these guys, and a song with a good lilt to it.
They still are. Look them up on RUclips.
THEY STILL ARE ! ORLEANS - DANCE WITH ME (LEGENDS) (RUclips) !
Amen 🙏!!
Love how a moment in time can "captured" by a song. Its not just a memory but all the senses and emotion.
the songs is still around...is the marriage? ?
great story brother I'm only 23 but very fortunate to have grown up on this great music
+HalfLifeAMD I'm a widow now unfortunately 💔
I'm so sorry! My condolences to you.
One of their songs I had played at hubby's funeral last Jan.! 'Our song' from when we met, etc., 40+ years ago!! 💔🇺🇸
Beverly Susan Goad Rogers Beautiful song. 40 years? wow sounds like you were a real great couple. God bless you both for the commitment,
Beverly Susan Goad Rogers awwww..God bless
God speed to him and love to you
💞
I am so sorry to hear about your loss....I hope this song will always ease your pain. Its my favorite. True love never dies. It just waits for us to catch back up to it.
Got my first dance and kiss from my middle-school crush to this dance. My childhood friend Tommy (RIP) pushed me into Danielle when this song started and we waltzed like a couple with two left feet LOL
Still, decades later, this song is one of my all time favorites. Among other times hearing it, I love hearing it in stores over the PA speakers, which is very rare. It stops me in my tracks.👌
Was dating my wife when this came out. Still happily married.
I will drop everything to listen to this song to completion, every time.
Hello,how are you dong?
Another beautiful 70's love song.
I love this song. What a classic. And seeing them perform it live is a pleasure. In those days there was Nothing but pure talent , no hiding behind an auto tune computer just your real vocals and a microphone. So refreshing.
The music of today is crap compared to this brilliant stuff of the past. 1970s and 1980s forever.
i aggree
Mark Parry 😊😊😊 i said the very same words you say
It's no better or worse, you old sentimental fool
Today's artist don't play instruments nor sing without the aid of electronics.
ok boomer
Went to High School with Larry Hoppin right top on the screen, a great guy we were in homeroom together so he sat behind me and we both played instruments; we were both in a band but not together. Very sad to hear he is gone, we shared many ideas about songs and music in general, every morning waiting to head off to class. Rest in Peace Larry, hopefully see you in the next life.
Cool
I love this song. One of my favorites performing with my old bandmates . I was fascinated with our own harmonies. Miss those days.
SEMPER FI

March 75, I was TAD with H&S Co 1/9th Marines, helped with the Evacuation of Saigon. What a mess. Were you assigned to 9th Marines, 4th Marines, FSR, MCB, Air Wing? Did you ever serve in "Nam"

i feel the same way everytime i hear this song. love it
This group from the '70s were great musicians. They played and sang with passion.
Heard this when I was in public school in 1975. Miss the old days.
hardly anyone seems to remember real music like this.
The Band yeah, five million views on this vid. What a shame
WE remember that's the thing...😊
@@annmitchell4663 UBet they're the best.
I was 17 when this came out. Got asked to skate the couples skate around the rink. Ah the good ole days!
lOVE THIS SONG!
Oh great music from my high school days. The time when crushes and youthful love were so infectious. Sigh, those serene days are gone...
What a wonderful song. Makes you miss so many meaningful songs like these 😊

Music when radio was a good thing to own
I’ve always loved this song. Still love it!
70s , what an era. People wore authentic smiles on their faces because we were truly happy. I miss it so much,at least I can go back with the music.
Today most people live sham lives and are miserable.
I just remembered this song which is why I came in here! Priceless!
RIP Larry Hoppen. We miss you.
My husband and I are celebrating our 60th wedding aniv. in April and hope to learn a dance routine to Orleans "Your Still the One" . Hope it works out
Hope you are doing well
How wonderful❤
Did it go well elizabeth ?
Getting ready for a hip revision. As soon as my 58 yr old body’s healed, hubby and I will ‘dance to this’ once again!!!! Love it so much♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
The 70's definitely was the best era for music.
I'll make even more memories to sit and look back on.

thank you. i think i feel like this too. its not that life is over ... its just ive come to the part where it seems Memories are the only thing now holdin me to my youth. And i too would make more of them to think back on. but am so happy n thankful for the ones i have.

lisa marie mc
David, and thank you for subscribing to me ;-)
Why could I not be alive during the time when music was different and good.
TC
These guys are the apex of music. voice , instrumentals and just the feelings that the lyrics evoke.
You cant help but sing it with them when its played! Thats what happens when the real tunes are played ❤❤
Oh wow - memories of returning to college August 1975 in Kansas - so hot and muggy but to see friends and "party-hearty" - good times!
No autotune here pure God given voices. You just don't hear it like this anymore.
Dancing to music like this with my swetheart back in the 70s took me to that special place of dreams and love where everything was possible and all my heart desired was granted, if only for a few minutes. We have lost those magical music moments. How I wish we could find them today . . .
Love this song by the Orleans! Married for 42 years and still brings back such great memories of our dating years!
Hello,how are you dong?
January 2023 I turn 54 in 4 days 1/24. Love the bands similar to these guys too. Little River Band, Christopher Cross, and so many others. I think I learned to appreciate this era of music from my sister, 9 years older than me. I'm an 87's hair band kid 🤣. But love all genres from 60's to current. Even Jelly Roll.
I remember hearing all these great songs on the radio back in the 70's when everything was a much better and not a care in the world. If you got to grow up in the 50's through the 80's with all the golden classic movies & music, YOU were blessed!
Such beautiful music.
That guitar intro is just killer…
When songs were purely poetic yet at the same time idyllic!!!
🤟🤟🤟 Thank you for this inspirational song, ORLEANS!
❤❤❤
A one off classic from times when money wasn't the most important thing in life. I remember having a BASF tape with this on, seals and crofts ,summer breeze, Forest rock the boat and let's go to.san Francisco. Happy tunes from happier times. Mid 70s was a wonderful time to be young. A totally different mindset.
WOW - we were so blessed to grow up with great music like this!!!!
I heard this on the radio through the night and came here. I remember what a great song it is. Thanks for uploading.
👍
Kutta Kyte it's hard to take you seriously with that profile pic lol sorry
Emelie Luzon Just stop messin' about and take me seriously.
I missed this year I would love to go back to it great songs and this was one of them still listening to the 1970's music. Way better than today shit.
you hit it right on the nail
I heard it on BBC radio today on sounds of the 70s, brought back beautiful memories.
