Mount Jumullong - GUAM

- Take a trip down south to the mountains to hike one of Guam's best trails. Mt Jumullong is a moderate out-and-back trail with stunning 360-degree views of the island at the summit. Park at the Cetti Bay overlook and cross the street to find the trailhead. Don't worry if you can't find a sign for Mt. Jumullong (there isn't one). Ascend the Lam Lam trail until the trail forks at cross number 12 (take the path on the right).
At an average pace, you can reach the summit in 35-45 minutes. I would rate difficulty at a 5/10. The trail is not technical but it's uphill the whole way.

Great video! This looks like a lot of work to film solo!!!
Thanks 😊 it is a bit of work... set the camera down... walk away... get the shot... walk back to the camera... walk back... repeat lol 😂
I never even heard of that word. Did you hear that from a native (Chamoru)?
I've heard it from some locals, but I saw it originally on google maps lol
Just a side note about this place. The US Navy wanted to condemn thru eminent domain this entire property, from mountain to sea in order to build a watershed for their exclusive use to provide another reliable source of potable water for ‘Andy South’ aka Big Navy. The large property owner, Paul Bordallo, a former senator at the time worked tirelessly to prevent this egregious act. It was yet another attempt at a major land grab by Uncle Sam. The area is sacred land for the Chamorro people. You can thank the legislature for advocating for common sense so we can all enjoy this spiritual area in perpetuity for time immemorial, the way it should be. This is yet another reason why for so many Chamorros- self determination and Independence is a very hot topic.
As a non-military resident, I can definitely see why people are concerned about giving more land to the military. I feel like there is so much of the island I can't explore and appreciate because it's blocked off to the public.

Have you noticed an uptick in military exercises around Guam? More than usual I’d say. The ‘2nd chain islands’ as the Marianas have been labeled should form solid economic alliances with the 1st chain islands. Perhaps w/ Debra Haaland, the 1st Native American woman head of the Insular Dept, & the democratic control of both Houses will permit a different modified economy for Guam since its an area of the world w/ much wealth & prosperity. I can see Guam as Singapore in the next 50 yrs.
