  • This is an extensive, in-depth look and discussion about Joaquín Rodrigo's "Adagio" from the fantastic Concierto de Aranjuez for guitar and orchestra. I sat down with Rhayn Jooste from Classical Guitar Rocks and answered his questions about how to go about playing and executing the tricky passages in this movement, as well as how to make it sound easy and musical.
We also talk about the dynamics between the guitarist, conductor and orchestra to bring out the best possible interpretation with the musicians that one is collaborating with. It is a lengthy talk charged with information.
I sincerely hope you do enjoy it and benefit from it. If there are any questions feel free to write them in the comments section!

I absolutely enjoyed every second, ever question, every answer and every note played. This interview was deeply instructional in interpretación and details of Tariq’s technique. Thanks to both of you.
