    Apologetics is great, it allows Christians to ask questions and have an open mind. It helps us tackle our doubts and think critically. I can be a weapon against religious extremism.

    Awesome video bro. Apologetics is such a necessary tool of our faith. Every believer should be able to defend or give biblical reasons for their faith. Praise God for persons like yourself who are gifted or just share a greater desire for this specific use of theology.

      OK, here's one for you. Imagine this: A young girl is raped and brutally murdered. Did your god PLAN for her to die in this way and at this time? Note: I am not asking if your all-knowing god knew it. I am asking if your god PLANNED it.

    So apologetics is logically explaining and defending something that is beyond explanation and human comprehension. Trying to put in finite terms the infinite... Good luck with that! My favorite quote of all time is: "Faith is believing in things, when common sense tells you not to - Miracle on 34th Street (1947)"

    I think we often get the whole "Apologetics" thing wrong, there is this 'militant' or 'combative' form of apologetics that is dangerous and I disagree with, there isn't even such a thing as an "apologist" in the Bible, Ephesians 4:11-12 says *"So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up"* where is the word "apologists" here? Of course 1 Peter 3:15 does say we must *"always be prepared to give a (verbal) defence ( Apologian) to anyone who asks us for the reason for the hope that is in us"* but it's NOT specific to "apologists" it is for *ALL* Christians generically and the purpose of it is to give people an opening to share the Gospel with, not trying to argue or debunk thier beliefs, so the more accurate term would be "evangelism" instead of "apologetics", also I'd like to add that this kind of "apologetics" is often misplaced and misdirected, what I mean is that "apologetics" should be conditional according to 1 Peter 3:15 we are to give a defence *ONLY IF* someone *"asks us"* and not to deliberately go into war with just about any non-christian who doesn't even care about the truth and just wants to debate and argue, that's why I also don't believe in street preaching or door-to-door missionary service,
    because it attracts the wrong kind of people like the stubborn athiests, hostile haters who are also keyboard warriors that come to Christian videos only to bash Christianity and poison the place, when they're not even welcome or needed, Christianity is not for them, I don't even listen to thier criticisms, they can "debunk" Christianity all they want let God take care of them, but if someone is genuinely *ASKING* us questions with good intent it surely means that the Holy Spirit is drawing them, another thing is, I believe "apologetics" should only be directed towards *GENUINE* skeptics not toward critics, there's a difference between a "skeptic" and a "critic", a skeptic is somone who is seeking answers, they're still seekers, whereas a critic is someone who is already CONVINCED in his/her mind that Christianity is false such as Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Cosmicskeptic etc. they have already arrived at a conclusion, they're *'proponents'* not "skeptics" so we needn't give them any attention, even watch thier videos, we need to focus more on THE CHURCH, rectifying and edifying CHRISTIANS, we need to focus more on our spiritual growth by fasting, prayer, worship and meditating on the word also we often leave out the most important part of 1 peter 3:15 *"but respond with gentleness and respect"*

      Thank you for that apologetic against apologetics. You might wish to direct your scribe to learn about sentences and paragraphs, to avoid embarrassing your royal majesty.
      You are right that apologetics is for everyone, and “apologist” is not a biblical title. However, apologetics is a branch and tool of evangelism. An evangelist (which is a biblical office) who specializes in apologetics could be called an apologetical evangelist… or, “apologist,” for short, even though his office is “evangelist.”
      Apologists use their gifts to build the church both by strengthening the brethren intellectually and by removing barriers to receiving the gospel. You might wish to review Romans 12 and 1 Corinthians 12 and 13.
      Should we answer opposers whose minds are made up? Well, let me ask this: Are you a mind reader? Do you know what God is going to do with everyone you meet? Is it true that “Love hopes all things”?
      Should apologists street-preach? Jesus did it. Peter did it. Paul did it. They all dealt with people whose minds were already made up, too. I think I’ll accept their examples rather than your restrictions.
      In totalitarian dictatorships, one is allowed to do only what’s permitted or commanded. This is called the Regulative Principle. In free countries, one can follow examples and try things that are not prohibited. This is called the normative principle.
      In God’s kingdom, we are free from the Mosaic Law, which has 613 commands. We only have three: Love God, Love others, and especially love fellow believers. We live under the Normative Principle. Restricting our answer to those we judge worthy is not loving, it’s presumptuous.

    So...maybe I misunderstood but if I am making an argument against a philosophy I am a proponent of that philosophy now since I am interacting with it? Forming an argument against something would not make me a member of that I am arguing against. Also, if Christian apologetics attempts to provide a reason for being Christian, then stating that apologetics is not needed would not make the author of the mentioned book an apologetic in my humble opinion.

      A Christian apologist answers questions or challenges about Christianity.
      Note the qualifier, “Christian.” One can be an apologist for anything.
      When you write an entire book promoting or defending a position, you become an apologist for that position. When you write an apologetic against apologetics, you are a hypocrite. It’s like using history to show why history is illegitimate, or using writing a reply about how nobody should write replies.

      And why is money such an issue for you? Are you a Marxist who thinks research and traveling don’t cost anything? Who thinks the work put into writing and lecturing should not be rewarded? Who thinks a man can feed and shelter his family without wages? Or are you just jealous and greedy?

    No such thing as apologetics it's a new movement ment to distract. The Holy Spirit will guide people with out them even knowing it. Without a shot fired.

      1. The bible commands Christians to engage in apologetics. 2. Timothy 4:2-4: Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
      2. How are apologetics and being led by the Holy Spirit mutually exclusive?

    • @Xenotypic
      @Xenotypic 2 года назад +1

      @@dartheli7400 Indeed, we are God's tools to evangelize people, and this is a way to do it. We can't just sit around and do nothing and wait for the Spirit to guide people when we are commanded to evangelize. Apologetics can help people to get over mental barriers that are standing in the way of them coming to faith.

      In the parable of the sower of seed on four types of ground, Jesus explained that the first type of soil represented people who had insufficient background information to grasp the Word. As an evangelistic tool, apologetics prepares the ground and pulls weeds by providing that information and dispelling bad information.
      As a tool within the church, apologetics assures believers that their faith is founded on solid ground by preparing them to meet the challenges the world constantly throws at them, as well as to do the work of making disciples, which Christ commands all of us.

    If you _really_ want to know if the Biblical claims are supported by evidence, you should consort _actual_ historians and scientists, not Christian apologists. Going to a Christian apologist is like asking a 12-year-old Justin Bieber groupie for an honest, unbiased critique of the latest Justin Bieber album.

    • @ricksonora6656
      @ricksonora6656 Год назад

      Your analogy implies an assumption that Christian apologists are biased in favor of their own work. However, they don’t defend their own work; they answer questions that form barriers to faith in God. Those answers regard topics and evidence that are external to their own work.
      Your comment also implies that Christian apologists are biased in favor of Christianity. Unfortunately, you fail to weigh that against biases against Christianity held by secular historians. (Never mind that Christian apologists frequently rely on the work of secular historians.)
      Your anti-Christian apologist apologetic needs considerable revamping.
