Even though this had nothing to do with moving dirt, it was probably your best video ever.
Thanks
@@DirtPerfect Yes I know we build the community we live in but it is easy to forget. Thank you for the reminder.
How impressive is that! Nice job. All a that beautiful rigging and machinery and "No bats in yer bellfree!" I'm impressed. Thanks for sharing. 🖐😎👍🤔
Very cool video.
A very relaxed video almost like a documentary on the origin of the clock.
That is one of the coolest things I've seen you work on. It is an honor to be asked to maintain it.
The clockwork was incredible. Gotta keep Grandma happy. Thanks for sharing.
This is why i like watching. It is like a box of chocolates you never know what you are going to get.
lol thanks
That clock is awesome, I have never seen one like that before. I know your grandparents are so proud of you for knowing how to operate it. This is one of the best videos yet to date. Aaron acted a little scared walking in the church. Everyone is welcomed in God's house including you Aaron. See you on the next video 🕊️🕊️
Very cool clock. Thanks for explaining how it works. Don’t forget to say a prayer before you leave the church.🤷♂️😊👍🙏
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. Grandpaw should be proud that you are carrying on his legacy.
That was incredible. Back when stuff was built to last over a hundred years and now they can’t even build a wrist watch to last more than a couple of years. And grandpa’s electric clock winder. Genius, it must run in the family. Awesome video.
That rates as one of the most interesting repair you have other done..... thanks for taking us along
Mike I know you didn’t apply for the job of bell keeper and clock time keeper but know your grandfather is very proud of you that your carrying on with maintaining these bell and clock that he loved so much.
Enjoyed the history story
That's the coolest thing I have ever seen. You are so talented and don't show it, being humble is what makes me happy to watch you guys. I'm Shure there are not many people today that would be able to understand how the clock and bells work as you do. I'm like Aaron and amazed. Best video ever Matt.
I believe Matt is over working on his castle! Perhaps he'll put a bell tower on top of the lighthouse!?
@@RRRIBEYE Or a fog horn!
Awww Mannnn!! - (to quote Aaron lol). This video is definitely in Dirt Perfects Top 10 - so impressed how at ease you were with "Grandpa's Old Friend" which I am sure he will be so proud of you for taking the time with so much intimate knowledge for the clock and respect for the Church and Grandma - you're a class act Mike, - hah, even MBTS was humbled......
Wowwwww That my friend was an Amazing trip back in time. Working on something that old and precise is a skill almost non existent any more. Keep up the good work Mike, and Bless you Sir.
Thanks
Best video ever. Grandpa must have left instructions
Now we know where Dirt Perfect got all his manufacturing genius!
Its amazing that he paid attention when his Granpa and Dad were teaching him. Good Job DP.
Love that Mike and the story of your grandfather 👌👏👏👏👏👍
I am still screaming with laughter. Mike and Aaron go to church today! Aaron stop being so jumpy, you making me nervous expecting the devil to jump out! LOL! What an ornate church. Love the Pipe organ!! I have been in some of these aged churches that are just filled with antique equipment, craftsmanship, and features hat are still functional. What a great treat today for me Mike thanks. This is a keeper! 'A Dirt Perfect classic. Hard to fine good folk (craftsman from back in the day-most have died off.) with knowledge and skill to fix this stuff anymore. Thanks guys I appreciate what you have just done.
Now that’s something to be proud of, super old, then Grandpa rebuilt and now you and Aaron keeping it running.
Way cool
That clock was incredible. Great video.
Awesome video let’s hope that Clock keeps working that they never upgraded to Electric
Amazing! Our old church had a funeral bell also. Most everyone died in their 80s and it seemed to ring FOREVER! Pity the person who rang it and had to keep track of the dongs! After 100 yrs, the floor weakened and nobody could climb up there. They hired a company to come in and take down the bells and they sit outfront of the new church now. Grandpa was a wizard with his mechanical abilities, you def inherited his genes and thought processes. Thanks for sharing this with us! Grandma would like to see you sitting in her pew some Sunday, surprise her!!
Wow. That was amazing. It was cool to go backstage at a traditional church. Just the climb up there would be enough to persuade automation. Unfortunately, with that automation, we abandoned the tower. Sadly, we are quickly abandoning the entire classic church look. I like your grandpa's approach. He found a way to modernize the process while respecting a century of tradition. We need more of that.
What a neat thing! I sure do hope that you are able to teach one of your kids how to run and maintain that clock. Once upon a time in our history, it was a great honour to be the one who rang the churchbells and maintaining the town clock. And that job went from father to son, generation after generation. Best wishes to all of you from Sweden. ❤
That was a great tour. Love how you took the time to share with all of us the history of the clock and how it works. Yup, probably the best video you've made. ❤
Mike,
This was an excellent video. I don’t know, if you know it, i’m sure you do…, but it is a special deed, and noble act that you are performing in fixing that clock. I hope you have a person picked out to train, and carry out this work when you are no longer able to.
Getting the call from grandma, to come fix the clock, that your grandpa taught you all about, would be such an honor. I must say hearing you refer to your grandpa showing you, telling you about the working(s) of that clock, brought tears to my 60yrs young eyes.
I can’t imagine the feeling of just stepping into that church to do the work. I am “green” with envy.
Thank you sir, for this special video.
(I am now headed to the back log of your videos to view the one on this clock).
That was very good showing a little history and that someone is taking an interest in maintaining the clock
Dang that’s really impressive!
I bet the word of mouth page on Facebook is going wild after hearing all them bells for no reason! 😂
Thank you! I absolutely love this video. I could see the pride you have in your church, your granddad, the clock and your work. Very commendable. Love all your videos say hi to Aaron for me.
Oh, and thanks to Mike, and Aaron for sharing, and showing us this magnificent piece of equipment.
A shout out to designers, drafters, machinests, and mechanics all over the world.
Thank you.
Amazing work, the precession of this clock mechanism is incredible, this is piece of history.
Obviously you were very astute when working alongside your grandfather and picked up the mechanics of that wonderful clockwork. Fine job young man
*For me*
This is a bucket list event that didn't know it was on the bucket list. = = love it !!!!!
For one I’ve never seen one of them, but that clock is such a work of art and very cool thank you for putting this video out. It was awesome.
Loved the old clock , can tell your grandpa and you are proud of it
That was the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time! The town could put a video camera on the clock and live stream it working. I’d sit here an watch it run.
This was a change, very interesting how all the inner workings for the bells actually operate! ✌
What a cool video and showing us the working of the clock and the bells. Long lost knowledge of the working of the church from your Grandfather. Thanks for keeping Grandma happy.
What a lovely thing to do for your grandma and grandpa, keeping his legacy going and sharing the wonderful history of the clock. Thanks, Mike.
Im with Aaron, i could watch that clock all day. Amazing how simple yet complicated it is
Nice old Clock Mechanism that needs to be kept going , Interesting video as well something totally different .👍👍👍
thanks for the great tour of the church always great to see the older machines and how they work prayers to you all keep up the great work Amen
always good to do work on and in the church. just makes you feel good in your soul. 😇 man! the day just seems a good bit brighter to watch such good works.
What a great video DP. And what a beautiful piece of technology. Nice to see how you tell DP about how the clock works. But also how you proudly talk about your grandpa.
Your eyes sparkle when you talk about it.
I am thoroughly enjoying this video.
thank you.
Just like everyone else this is one of your better videos, not that any of yours are bad. So cool that you know how to keep the old clock and bells working as not just anyone could touch that system.
This has been one of your best videos. I love seeing the inner workings of the clock and bells.
great video, you must be proud to continue your grandfarthers legacy.
Dirt Perfect a.k.a. Bell & Clock Master! Mike needs to pass on his knowledge to the next generation to ensure proper maintenance and care for the clock and bells continue to run flawlessly! I can only imagine how all the modern techies would react to seeing this thing work, knowing it uses ZERO electricity and scratching their heads because they can't comprehend centuries old mechanical technology! Thanks for bringing us along on this historical trip!
Man, I almost skipped this video. I am sure glad I didn't. That was awesome to see. What an amazing family legacy you are carrying on.
This definitely was one of the best videos i've seen in a long time. You care so much for your grandparents that you have the job of making sure the clock runs correctly for that church. Kudos to you DP job well done.❤
That is a magnificent church so beautiful. Thank you for such a wonderful video ❤❤❤
I just love seeing this old machinery bring preserved, Thanks for sharing and the explanation on how it works.
Thanks for showing some of your towns history. Keep it running.
Mike, such an amazing history lesson of the clock. Your grandpa seems like an awesome guy who shared his knowledge and wisdom with you which is a very valuable gift. I'm really liking the variety of videos you're doing these days.
Great video, the clock is giant version of a grand father clock.
Mike and Aaron amazing video, not everyone gets a chance to see a clock that old and the way it works! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Thanks for sharing your video. Always interesting and entertaining to see the older side of precision technology. Beautiful old church, glad they still have you to help out. Now when MBTS is missing you have another place to look for him, wouldn’t be surprised if he starts spending time sitting up there studying the clock just to memorize how it works. Wishing you and your family the best.
Amazing to think about the engineering that went into that clock! Very cool video, thx for sharing 👍
Agreed
That clock is amazing. Thanks for sharing. So great to see the church has remained with tradition and not given in to an electric clock.
Good morning sunshine! What an awesome bell! It must be such a blessing to be so familiar with something your Grandpa loves so much! Much love from Henderson Ga USA
Mike, thank you so much for sharing this amazing video. What a beautiful intricate piece of history.
Awesome cool video Dirt Perfect and what a beautiful church. Let me share a bit of my own family history - my great great grandfather, Thomas Woodward, was the manager of John Whitehurst 3rd clock and watch making business in Derby, Derbyshire, England. John willed Thomas his business and as the Woodward family lived with John in Cherry St Derby, he willed Rhoda Woodward, my 2x great grandmother many items of silver and linen. Their son and my great grandfather trained as a brassfounder with the business, however when all had died, John Whitehurst Woodward migrated to Australia. So this video had me enthralled and loved every second of it. Thank you.
Very cool, any old history like this is great to see still workings. It’s a shame that most clocks of this style of them are no longer in existence. It’s very cool to that your grandpa kept it going all these years. Take us along for the journey next time you need to work on it. Thanks for sharing the history.
Dirt perfect just turned into the history channel. Awesome episode, this is what the world meads right now, a little community resonsibility
Best video to date #DirtPerfect 👍👍
It was awesome to see 👀 a church clock in the inner workings and its functions. The colors and just how they operate. Thank you for keeping old iron still ticking.
Morning DP and Aaron
The mechanical ingenuity from 150 years ago is impressive. Nice video.
That was pretty amazing to see that clock work. Glad your grandpa showed you how to work on it. I’m sure there isn’t many people around these days who can.
Nothing amazes me more than the craftsmanship of our for fathers. Craftsmanship that results in art work. Thanks for sharing this beautiful system and the fact that it still exists today.
Yes Mike. It is awesome engineering
Nice to see a church with a real bell tower with Bells instead of speakers. Thanks for keeping the bell working!!
What a great history lesson. Always wondered about the bell system. The clock, the coolest piece of machinery I've ever seen. Thanks
This was sooo interesting and spoke volumes on your up bringing. Sure glad you had the interest to learn the clock. Your Grandpa has got to be proud of you!
Love the church and the bells
A very unique and educational video. You should be on grandma's well done list now. God Bless Everybody Watching.
Most people never see or pay attention to volunteers. For the most part they go unnoticed. We never ask ourselves how things get done. A lot of businesses and individuals take their time and also money to keep things going. This happens all around the world, not just in America. The world would stop without Volunteers! Thanks for giving!
DP, I really enjoy your content, but you were right, this is my favorite one. I have been on pins and needles waiting after your teaser on Sunday.
Good morning all Here for another episode!!!! Enjoy😀😀😀
Got to admit, that is probably your best video yet!! No heavy equipment but was sure educational and something I have always wanted to see and do!! Keep that old machinery running!
What a change in production! This video of adjusting the ropes for the church steeple and playing with the old clock was most entertaining, quite a departure. from your usual presentations. Well done!
this is so cool. great video.
That is fascinating, thanks for sharing
Aaron gives new meaning to “nervous as a wh_re in church” great video DP!
Beautiful church and the honor of keeping a family tradition by maintaining an amazing clock is a blessing! Thanks for sharing
Awesome video
title is a hundred percent correct- that tower clock is awesome
Quite the amazing content...now I can say I've seen 150 year old bells and the amazing workings. Truly appreciate you sharing this adventure and making Grandma happy😎👨🔧🛠️😇🙏🔔🔔🔔👵
Thanks for taking us back in history and showing us the workings of a truly incredible piece of machinery.
Wonderful that you were there at Grappa's side learning all about it.
What a responsibility for him and now you to shoulder.
This really is one of your best videos.
Thank you for taking the time and effort making this video, it showed another side of you, one of humility and caring.
Im glad you know how to fix those, hopefully there is someone else in training to keep up with the problem and solutions.Thank you for showing the coolest clock ever. You must be proud of your grandpa, and he is proud of you.
Now Aaron you see the ceiling didn't fall on you , you can safely go to church now ❤❤
I'm 70 and the first time I've seen inside a mechanical church or town clock . Love it .Oh i was a maintenance tec for 24 years and a machinst for 18. So I've my share of mechanical things.
This truly is the history channel. Very good video.
That is something I have not seen in 55 years .As an electrician apprentice in the late sixties our company worked in a very old church to have the bells move by electric motors . I remember “ hiking “ up and down more than 100 steps probably 10 to 15 times a day to get material and tools up .Great Video and very well explained . I was surprised not to see any birds or doves up there . All that was designed with out and computers !!
This is totally awesome!
What a cool piece of history. The fact that Grandpa dirt passed the torch to you is awesome. Hope Hunter has a desire to continue the tradition!
Very cool!!
Nice seeing how our ancestors made things work. Your grandfather would be proud of you. You took the knowledge that he instilled in you when you were very Young and put it to good use. One of your better videos. Thanks
This was one of your most important videos ever. The number of people who understand how machines work is dwindling. It’s also heartwarming to watch MBTS’s reactions and love of the pure mechanics of the clock. Great job!
P.s. I’m originally from Cloverdale, famous for basketball and sketchy truck stops!
Absolutely fascinating learning how they did it old school! I’m glad someone passed on the knowledge to keep it going for another 160 years!
It's people like you and your Grand Pa who keep these old master pieces going and let every one hear the true sound of a ringing bell time piece. Most of these clocks have been replaced with electronic time pieces as people find them easier to look after. Thankfully Big Ben in England was renovated and sounds similar to yours.
I'm always amazed at the things you and Aaron come up with. This has got to be my all time favorite to date. I hope that clock and bell tower keep calling people to the Lord for many years to come. Absolutely awesome!
I agree with others here, the best video of non dirt work
This is truly a special video you don't see setups like this when something was made to last you know DP i hope you teach your kids about this so they can keep this tradition going
I love that old craftsmanship. Great break from the shop.
