At the edges of the Frontier Galaxy, the notorious Grimheart Gang have driven away every peaceful settler and taken over the planet TombStar. As part of an eclectic group of gunslingers, your goal is to bring these criminals to justice, both for their crimes against the galaxy as well as for your own personal vengeance.
Play as Jack Galloway and strive to become a galactic hero just like your father. Step into the shoes of Benson Gara, a Lyroid-species environmentalist looking to restore the planet and stop the Grimheart scourge from spreading. Or live up to the legend that is AJ Starchild, a highly decorated sniper gone rogue to seek her revenge. Discover each character’s unique abilities and play styles to find your strongest contender for defeating the Grimheart Gang.

I would love a series of this when it's out. It's an easy artstyle to follow what's going on, the pace is sufficiently high to stay interesting at all times and it seems it has a lot of interesting enemies and mechanics/weapons.
I’m honestly in love with games with this sort of dodge roll. I do tend to swing more for big damage while taking damage, so I find the dodge roll almost exclusively as a last ditch when stuck. With the rate of heals in this game I think I’m gonna love it
I just wanna say I super appreciate the games very generous amount of teleport locations. The devs obviously went out of their way to both make backtracking a logical choice at times but greatly lesson the tedium of doing so if you so choose.

The graphics are so slick, imagine if the next EtG went with fully 3d models
I feel like this is heavily inspired by Enter the Gungeon. Not a bad thing but maybe a bit too much to warrant buying both though…
as someone with 1,500hrs in Gungeon, I am extremely happy to play something new. Especially since there are big noticeable differences, especially in relation to the item system.

This seems like the version of Gungeon I could actually maybe beat. I have tried so many times but Gungeon is the one roguelike I haven't been able to complete a full run of. I've tried so many times and I just can't do it for some reason.
Between the character's movement speed and frequent teleporters, I think speedrunners will either love this game or hate it because there's no challenge.
I played this in beta, it's cool to see how it has progressed

You say it has "obvious inspirations" and I have no idea what those inspirations are. What games are you feeling inspired this?
Enter the Gungeon.
it is _extremely_ inspired by Enter the Gungeon and doesn't hide it. I mention it later on, I often forget my channel isn't necessarily known as an "Enter the Gungeon" channel anymore and people aren't familiar with the game. People used to _only_ watch Enter the Gungeon on my channel, but I've since done an extreme pivot to variety.
@@Retromation came for the Gungeon many a years ago, stayed for the Reto. 😄
This definitely isn't afraid to wear its inspiration on its sleeve though. And I'm so here for it! (Maybe there will be a Casey in the final version? 😮)
