The zenkai boosts that mark gets will build up in the show. We've yet to see just wait.
He def gets stronger over the course of the comic, but he doesn’t really get zenkai boosts iirc. Viltrumites only get stronger with age and exercise.
Although, I think there’s a moment where Mark says he feels stronger as a result of Eve reviving them after almost dying. Might be wrong tho

@@benjamindover7081 That doesn't make sense when Conquest is older than Invincible but got beat twice by him. There is def a form of zenkai boost as when they fight they get stronger. Otherwise it don't make sense why Mark is stronger than Conquest or even with him.
@@Dayz671 In the first fight, Eve catches Conquest off guard and injures him as she revives, giving Mark the upper hand. Mark then bashes his skull in hard and fast enough to keep him from turning the tables.
If I remember the second fight correctly, Mark outwitted Conquest by catching and suffocating him as soon as he exhaled, making it only a matter of time ‘til he died from asphyxiation. Either one may have been stronger than the other at that point, it seemed kind of vague in my memory. Conquest did seem to have a real bad habit of underestimating Mark, which pretty much got him killed twice.
But yeah, Mark being conflict with stronger enemies definitely made him stronger over time, but I still think that’d align more with exercising than some sort of zenkai boost. When Mark fights against people like Conquest and Thragg, he’s pushing himself to his limit with flying and throwing punches, which puts his body through exercise.
Allen’s a good example of an actual zenkai boost in Invincible: each of the two times he’s on the brink of death, he gets a MASSIVE power boost upon recovering. Like, as soon as he gets his first boost, he’s already among the top 20 strongest people in the universe. Mark’s progression in strength, on the other hand, is a lot more gradual, just like you’d see from someone keeping to a work-out regiment.

They get stronger with each fight. Read the Wikipedia they do have a sort of zeblnkai boost. Similar to Allen it's jsut never used cuse they never fight opponents similar strength to themselevs
One thing I'll never understand is why battle beast wasn't with them. The way battle beast went toe to toe with Thragg he could have made quick work of Conquest
Probably cause he can’t fly in space.
Also at this point he may still be recovering cause they do find him frozen, floating through space before he joins the coalition.
Battle beast got WORKED by thragg in the 1st encounter. He would've lost at this point. He gets boosted later... So, read the comic

He could’ve absolutely gone toe to toe with thragg at that point.
Mark encountering Conquest the second time is basically that Spongebob episode of "How many times do I have to teach you this lesson, old man?!"

Their appearance doesn’t correlate with their age. For example Thragg is said to be somewhere around 6000 while Nolan’s only 2000ish, even if he looks 10-20 years older

Seriously, Cecil is like the legit heroic version of Amanda Waller. If your only exposure is the show, there's almost nothing about him to DISlike.
I keep being confused every time I see this take. Is he substantially more of a monster in the comics or something? Because right now every single scene we get with him is the absolute peak of what you'd *want* someone in that position to be.
@@Pyre I like Cecil, but he's an ultra pragmatic and conniving character, who always thinks he knows best, that is often the foil of the MC. He sees Mark as a naive kid, and is constantly second guessing and reprimanding him. Of course some people are going to dislike him.

Two different things and leverages
Its real life logic. Somebody can be a good puncher but a bad grappler. I personally had the opposite problem, punches I threw were too light but I could bend people as I please because I trained for that since early on.

Strength and durability are different stats. Invincible's grip strength is obviously just stronger than his soft, squishy gut.

Ill never fully understand, in any media, how when someone gets impaled fully through their torso. How they can continue to fight, because wouldn’t that just straight up paralyze them because their spine has now been severed? If conquest impaled Mark during their second fight the way he did, how could Mark actually keep choking him with enough force.
Just imagine that thier arm is resting gently against the spine instead of having ripped through it

Kinda looks like the impalement is shooting to the left a bit, can be said he simply missed the spine because he didn't wanna have his fingers collide with it or something.
Albeit we have seen weaker characters get disemboweled in half by impalement.
Healing factor and it depends on the section of the spine that is damaged determining what actually becomes paralyzed.
It’d only paralyse the legs at most, as it’s not above the neck.

I honestly prefer the first fight with conquest.
The raw emotion Mark showed thinking Eve was dead made one of the best panels in comics I have ever seen.
I cannot stand Invincible's edgelord approach to violence, but I get you.
Arguably though, this fight was more about growth than spectacle. Mark wasn't the same panicked kid in a fight: this time he picked something vicious, committed to it, and just wouldn't let anything stop him.
Literally went for the throat and ground a mass-murdering butcher down until he died with a whimper in the dirt, no matter what he tried to hit Mark with in return.
Given where the comic *ends*, it feels almost like a nod to Mark's whole character arc.

You can definitely see his character growth through this fight.
But the determination and willpower he shows her just doesn’t hit the same as the pure seething hatred he had when he thought he lost the love of his life.
This was just Invincible vs Conquest. But before it was Mark vs Conquest.
I like to compare it to when Peter Parker broke into prison to fight Kingpin.
That was personal and full of emotion. Not just a “duty” of a superhero.

His first fight with Conquest is the best fight in the entire series. Not even his battle with Thraag in the sun or his emotional first encounter with Levy were as impactful and brutal as that fight. At least in my opinion, I can't wait for it to be in the season 3 finale (which it definitely will be).

Conquest got the air KNOCKED out of him and then suffocated he had no air to work with while also fighting which exerts even more air from him...till he started losing power and Mark snapped his sht.
Yeah, that's normally, but they were fighting and he was gassing out already.
Cut the oxygen to his brain, also that assumes theyre wandering through space, not expending resources like fighting, then again the fight could also have lasted hours

idk too much about invicible but i remember cause he went to the guy who made ominimans suit and his first yellow and blue suit, which he explains to him that ever since he put on the blue and black suit, hes felt that its been a symbol of bad luck and just has brought constant turmoil in his life, so he asks rhe costume guy what to do and he leaves with his original yellow and blue suit
