It's no surprise to hear someone say Yellobelly Drag Strip is the rowdiest drag strip in the US. Spectators are literally lining the starting line area, with some standing on the actual race track. We took the chance to spend a weekend here and watch some of the baddest small tire cars race for nearly $20,000 in prize money.

I love how you do intros on the cars before racing. You guys by far have your s*** together and of course I think we all can tell that by all the goddamn toys that your boss man is buying. I'm disabled and probably will take 2 years to get my 49 Chevy on the road but that's okay I could be worse. God I'm so jealous. But awesome for 1320.

I said it before and I’ll say it again, never bet against Mitchell and that Firebird.
Does having the turbos in the bed not create some really bad turbo lag? Considering the distance the air has to travel would there not be some “slack” in the air pressure.
2 months later: But honestly, a few more hundred RPM of lag isn't gonna matter on a dedicated race truck. It's not a sprint cup truck that turns corners or drives on the street where he needs to worry about spool up times. The 2-step is the cure-all for lag. And for that matter, it doesn't actually add as much lag as you may expect.

That's the coolest car there if you ask me, probably one of the only cars running a factory block too. Old school Mopars are a treat to see at events like this.

Ain't that track looks dangerous..cars do jump over those concrete barriors and people got cars parked at the end of the track.. I dont know but I won't be near the track if I were them.

Yellow Belly is a wild place because it falls in a legal gray zone. There is about a five mile gap between the cities of Dallas and Grand Prairie, which leads the sheriff department’s to be responsible for this area. However, it’s far from the rest of their patrol so their presence is not very visible. My favorite stretch of highway in America also falls into this jurisdiction.

I got a legit question. You(the winner) get taxed on the car. That's why they normally give you say 20k cash on top of the car, but do you also get taxed on that 20k cash?
I'm talking for a normal person and not some business savvy tax expert that can avoid taxes like these.
Average tax on prize vehicles is 30% and c6 zr1s are going for 100k. Plus if you get taxed on that 20k then youre looking at about 35k in taxes?
It would just count like regular income. You can also give someone a one time a year cash gift up to a certain amount with no taxes. I think it's $16k.

But the ZR1 would be perfect for the summer right now for me, and the cash would get me out of the hole I'm in with bills ! I made less money when Trump was in office but had more then I do now ! I can't believe they let people stand on the edge of the track like that past the starting line. One bad launch, or engine blows up and hurts someone, those negligence lawsuits are going to be the end of that place. It's just not a smart business move.

Unfortunately, that’s just how Yello Belly Drag Strip works. Lots of people wanting the street racing experience while at a track. And since Yello Belly isn’t a sanctioned track, people can do whatever the hell they want.

That the most posers ive ever seen standing all over the track! From the box to 100ft out, nothing but people that aren't racing, dont have a car nor are they part of a race "team"! I would love to see the faces if whoever put a race together told everyone they can't be on the track! The racers is what makes the event, not the people standing around waiting to get ran over!

Are the procharger cars louder because exhaust isn't getting muffled at all by a turbo or is the actual blower loud? I know Prochargers are notoriously loud I have a baby one on my vette. Can only imagine how loud them big dog bolted to the crank blowers sound.

Love this track but it's a lawsuit waiting to happen. I'm fine with people being on the sides but you have people standing on the track out past the 60 FT. Like these cars on launch can break loose and shoot 90 degrees to the right and hit those people within 60 FT. Hope it doesn't happen but it's a classic WHEN not IF situation.
